We have a huge credit/mortgage crisis going on in this country, right now, with thousands of peoples' lives going up in smoke as they lose their houses and everything they own and Congress is obsessed with talking to baseball players about steroids?

I hate roger and I think he did it, but if his lawyers had half a brain they would call out andy pettite. First he says that he only used hgh twice, and then in his testimony admits that he did it a couple of more times, and that his dad shot him up. I would be screaming that he lost his credibility, and that it is possible that he may have misheard, but he has redneck lawyers-he deserves what he gets."It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so." -Mark Twain

To be honest, I watched the whole 5 hour "show" and this is what I feel coming out of it.
Clemens - I honestly feel that he did it. I think he needed that extra boost to maintain a level that he was at for years. For people like that they can not even think about aging or wearing down. Clemens knew one level and how to win. He did what many others did in order to be a winner. He sat there yesterday and lied. Now I am not 100% certain, but from hearing him struggle to get words out at times and hearing the answers he gave, that is my conclusion on the subject. I do think deep down he knows it will come down to a he said she said ending and with that he can still state that others are there to hurt him rather than state the truth.
McNamee - Yes he did lie and he admitted to it. At the time he lied, Clemens was a friend to him and I personally would have done the same for any of my friends. Not saying that when the Mitchell report was being run that they were not still friends, but people do stupid things when put into binds. Even when he was stating of all the needles he had stuck in people, he still tried to protect Clemens by holding back the physical evidence. It was only after the lawsuit by Clemens that McNamee knew it was time to bring out the heavy ammo. Yes McNamee is not very trustworthy given all the times he lied, but I can understand why he did it. I can also understand why he injected the players even after being a policeman in NY. That was his job and in order to keep his job and provide for himself and family(not sure if he has one), he needed to do whatever he had to just like the players were doing by asking to be injected.
Overall, the hearing accomplished little to nothing. Both men stuck to what they had been saying all along. The one senator who I think had the most to say was the lady senator towards the end with 5 minutes to ask questions. She asked Clemens why he did not go to see Senator Mitchell after being requested to. Clemens said his people did not tell him he was asked to see Mitchell. Then she went on to say how on 60 minutes he said he knew of them asking him to come down. She also said and Clemens agreed, that his people did him a great disservice by not telling him. If her staff had done that to her, she would have a new staff but amazingly enough Clemens still feels his has his best interests in mind. To me, Roger is a poor judge of character and it seems too forgiving of a person.
In the end, someone is going to say they lied and one person will be punished for it. I say Clemens took something to help him and that is my opinion. Let's see who is right in the end.NFL System - Year 1
