Red Sox have been courting Dan Haren. He is signed for 3 more years at a much, much, cheaper price. He would take much less in return and fit nicely into that rotation. I'm down with THAT!!!

ANOTHER BIG QUESTION IS HOW DO YOU THINK HE WILL PITCH IN NY. HE COULD START OUT 0-2 AND THE NY MEDIA WOULD BE ALL OVER HIM. SOME PLAYERS JUST CAN NOT TAKE THE PRESSURE OF PLAYING IN PINSTRIPES. JUST ASK JOHN WETLAND WITH ALL THE NAILS AND GLASS THE FANS USED TO PUT UNDER HIS TIRES OF HIS CAR IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE.

Who is the last proven pitcher NY has picked up on free agency or a trade? A proven young under then 30yrd old pitcher? Not a washed up Randy Johnson type?

DON'T GET ME WRONG I WOULD LOVE TO GET SANTANA. HELL I WISH HE WAS A FREE AGENT THIS YEAR BECAUSE THE YANKS WOULD GET HIM AT ANY COST IF HE WANTED TO GO PLAY FOR THEM. BUT I JUST DON'T WANT THEM TO GIVE UP THOSE YOUNG ARMS

If the Yankees give up Hughes, Cabrera and another prospect to get Santana ... All the power to them and Good Luck.

im one of the very few yankee fans out there that says DO NOT do this trade.. Hughes is younger than Santana.. Sure Johan is solid as nails but I would take a younger player of him anyday. Hughes,Melky,Cano,Chamberlin,Kennedy just to name a few are our up and coming young guns and im tired of them trading away all of them like they have in the past.. Fuck santana let Minny keep his ass..

Carl Pavano was a 1 year wonder in Florida also and cashed in on the payday just like Jaret Wright did after his magical year in Atlanta.

I argued about this yesterday and I agree with watchtower on this.....get Johan Santana at any cost...he is the best pitcher in the game in the prime of his career.

I would trade Ellsbury and the rest of that deal in a flash and get Johan signed yesterday for 25 million a year.......I mean shit Barry Zito got 18 million LMAO.

I wonder if the Red Sox fans wuld be singing the same tune if Cleveland would have finished them off, I highly doubt it.

                                PEACE
