ND always sells it and ND fans eat it up! 9 SU loses in bowl games has proven that...
I heard the opposite today. Many 'experts' were saying how this years team is worse than last years team. They were expected to be better. Now they are predicting next years team will be worse because they are losing many seniors.

That being said the 'experts' are more wrong than right.

IMO further proof that ND is no longer AMERICA'S darling college team. Notre Dame built their dynasty, generations ago because they often signed the best high school stars. They no longer attract the countries best high school athletes. Those stars are going to different schools.

I think as the years pass and once the good ole boys retire that preside at these college universities, ND will continue to lose their luster as a premier college 'franchise'. It's been happening over the past two decades.

Not blaming you Bry, I made my choice after thinking about it and looking at their records. VV, I'm not disputing that it was said last night. I shut the game off. The point I was trying to make was some think ND will be worse next year.

Bradshaw and Long did one hell of a job announcing that game yesterday. Letting everyone know right before the snap of the ball, where the open hole to throw was on defense....Too bad, ND wasn't listening...

Hey buddy....Don't be sorry in the least bit. We had a morning discussion and I could have picked any way I wanted. You just gave me your opinion. I'm not pissed in the least bit. I've been on a losing streak lately. So I kind of expected it. Hopefully, I turned it around tonight with Ind St. I'll still be looking for your opinions when you want to hand them out.

Here's the MONEY TRAIL...read this article and I think it'll put an end to our debate or conversation of ND or possible playoff sys w/in CFB...it's almost depressing since it clearly points out to me that the current sys is entrenched and fortified to stay as is for quite some time. Also to note, I mentioned at one point that it's all about the fans & money, well that is clearly pointed out w/ attendance numbers and TV viewership significantly UP, there simply is not a reason to make the logical changes...

I found this to be a very good read in understanding the who, why, what w/in this BCS decision making...

I was about to just drop this...but I have to comment on this one because it's another topic that had both sides thinking they are right.

Notre Dame doesn't get the top top athletes anymore because they are not smart enough to get into notre dame. Getting into Notre Dame is by far harder then the A typical school.

According to ncaa.org....these are some of the numbers

                          #1 Navy 98%
                          #2 Boston College 96%
                          #3 Notre Dame #95%
                          #4 Stanford 94%
                          #5 Wake Forest 93%
                          #5 Duke 93%
                          #5 Air Force 93%

Big time programs at the bottom:
                          #204 Alabama 44%
                          #204 Minnesota 44%
                          #204 Cal 44%

                          #214 Georgia 41%

                          #216 Texas 40%

                          #217 Arizona 39%

This was a hot topic when Tyrone Willingham got fired a few years back when some of the alum had requested that the admissions requirements be lowered in order to get some of the better athletes.

So where does Notre Dame go? Its a lose lose situation in some eyes. If they lower their restrictions, then there will be backlash. If they continue with their requirements as is...the "best" athletes won't be able to come to Notre Dame if they're grades aren't as good.

One of the main reasons I love Notre Dame is because they won't lower their standards in order to get those "better" athletes.

And big picture here should be the graduation rate, not the wins and losses, since these kids are our future, aren't they?

Kudos to ND for setting high standards.

Until the fans stop attending and stop watching the games we'll never get a playoff system.
