They are visibly frustrated from it and the rythym has been WAAAAAY off!
    Wayne-

there is only 1 qb who still calls his own games basically (Manning)......the others are directed by the o-coordinator....And in football when the ball snaps there are waaaaaay more moving parts and variables taking place.......The qb's decision is alot more important than a catcher placing his mitt in a certain area and calling for a cutter instead of a fastball......

I see frustration on the pitchers faces, but i do not think it is directed at Lopez......I also see dejected, rounded shoulders looking at the ground pussies who are not stepping up.....or fighting....(i.e. Lester, Beckett...both body language was awful....defeated) they should have bulled their necks when our guys gave them the lead again

The Cubs are much further away from the Little League WS than one player and that was my point. PLEASE ... That is/was also friggin' hilarious!

      LMAO...god your like clockwork.

I could have posted your reply before you did.

It is priceless to see the tables turned and how you all scramble for answers.

It's all good brother....my point has been made. The cubs suck, blah blah blah, etc, etc, etc

Javy Lopez is obviously not the answer.

The Yankees as much as I hate to say it...went out and GOT the offense to replace Sheff and Matsui.

That's what I don't get...why didn't Boston spend the money? Honestly...Not dogging or looking for a "fight" I am honestly confused....

Did they under-estimate the loss of Veritek?
Follow along John. The injuries too Nixon and Tek happened the day before or after the trading deadline which means they got what they got (Lopez).

This goes right back about 30 posts when i talked about the deadline non moves!

          Wayne-

the position of Qb takes on a different persona/role for each team....Some teams require a manager of the game (just do not lose it for us) (Baltimore) and others require him to step up and make the big 3rd and long.....So in football, depending on the offense the position is quite different from team to team.....

The catchers role on each team is relatively similar other than the fact he must play more of a coach role with a younger staff.....

No comeback proves my point John. Seriously read above, you didn't have one. Predictable or not, do you have that record handy or are you just laughing it off as a well known fact?

Would you say losing Varitek is like if Pizza Hut ran out of Pepperoni at the buffett???

Would it wreck the buffett or would you asscoiate losing him with losing the thin crust???

                      ha ha!!

                        NEXT QUESTION!!!

That is the biggest cop out I've heard.

Veritek could be calling the pitches from the dugout and it still wouldn't matter because your pitching staff would STILL GET POUNDED

One has very little to do with the other.

Pitches still need to be made in the right spots...and that's not happening. That is not Veritek's fault, nor Lopez's.

I'm laughing it off because you said in that post about Trot and Veritek the SAME THING I said about Lee.

And I got dogged from the moment it was on here.

                          BUT BUT

Because it's the Red Sox...it's a different story. Because The Cubs are such a woeful organization they don't matter.

No, I don't have the record handy, but I bet you it's pretty similar percentage wise to the record with Veritek and Nixon out of the lineup.

The best part about this is...i don't necesarily disagree with what you are all saying...I just think its awfully funny that it's ok now...but not then.

Is Varitek a good player?? YES

Would i rather lose him for a week or Shef/Matsui for 3-4 months.....

Varitek- hands down......The pitches are probably being called from the dugout now anyways.....and he is there to coddle those big pussies when they come in to the bench with their heads down
