  • I would give them at best a 1 in 100 chance of making the playoffs, and that is probably too optimistic at this point.
If they lose either one of these next two games to White Sox, the odds go to 1 in 150 or 200.

That is true, but I still like their chances to snag the wildcard.
It is interesting that for some reason Tavarez seems to have(and had)9 some luck against them both last night and during that marathon game in Chicago.
In actuality, I don't believe besides Yankees, there is really any other team which has a legitimate chance of winning the WS other than White Sox(sorry Tigers and Mets fans and I hate to admit it, this Yankee team with Abreau added and possibility of Martsui and/or Sheffield helping out is leaps and bounds above the rest of the teams).
ps I will say however that if miraculously Angels got in, they could beat the Yankees, but that is a longshot.

          • ps My assumption is of course White Sox get in.
If Twins get in(and again no offense to Goldvike or any other Twins fans), I give them practically no chance of defeating the Yankees.
Now of course what I hope happens as a Sox fan is 100% the opposite of what I say;the only way I can cheer for Yankees EVER is by betting on them;instinctively in other cases I always root against them;that is what being a Sox diehard for 54 years does to you.
