Red Sox will never be a contender for anything if they have to rely on the likes of Seanez and Tavarez.

Their bullpen has not been good for the last month. I am not giving up hope but they need to step up. Just get to the playoffs and I will take my chances with Schill and Beckett in big games.Three Jack's Record http://www.bettorschat.com/forums/sh...10#post1323910

Originally posted by savage1I think you are giving Beckett way too much credit. He needs a lot of runs to win, and his won lost record is totally deceiving(look at his era and all of the home runs surrendered);with a weak hitting team, his record would probably be reversed.
He hasn't shown it this year, but with the state of pitching in MLB, I would take him as a #2 .Three Jack's Record http://www.bettorschat.com/forums/sh...10#post1323910

I don't have much confidence in a pitcher who needs a lot of runs to succeed and who leads the majors in home runs allowed(correct me if I am wrong).
So far, by far Lowell(the throw in) was the better pickup!

Huge win by the Tigers tonight.........we need a split of the next 2 and then whip Texas over the weekend (sweep or 3/4) and that would make 6-1, 5-2 L7 which would erase the sting of that 5 game losing streak.
Next would be the White Sox again and if we struggle with them guys again I will have to hope its regular season thing (alas Minny in 87 v the Tigers when they stunk v us in the regular season then beat us 4-1).
I can breathe a sigh of relief for tonight.....
PEACE

So far I am not surprised at all this week, and no matter what happens tomorrow, Sox are in deep do-do. Only a miraculous series against the Yankees(which I highly doubt) can turn around this sinking ship.
The loss of Varitek and others is telling now as well as the debacle last week against TB and KC.
I just have no sense of anything even remotely resembling a championship team for the team as it is composed now with especially with the injuries.

I hope I am wrong but I can almost sense a Yankee massacre of the type seen in 1978 coming up.
ps Call me disloyal, but thats the way I see it right now.

I guess 54 years of torture outweigh one glorious year.
