Because he is a prototypical 2 hitter with tons of speed who can fill a position, SS where they currently have a solid fielding but poor hitting Alex Gonzalez.

That's what I was trying to say also. Roy Oswalt is one of my favorite pitchers

MLB TRADE UPDATE FROM JAYSON STARK
Mets are closing in on a big deal with the Pirates, for Roberto Hernandez and Oliver Perez. Still haggling about the rest of that deal

Weeny...I don't agree that Milledge AND Pelfrey for Oswalt is a good trade. One of them, I am fine with but not both. My other post was supporting youu in that I disagreed with my fellow Met fan. Comparing the Kazmir trade to a potential Oswalt trade is not a fair comparison.

I think a proven pitcher is always worth young potential, that's just my opinion. Milledge could be over rated, Pelfrey could be mental, you never know with those guys. Oswalt is a proven stud.

What makes Oliver Perez any different than Mike Pelfrey besides the fact the Perez has experience getting killed in Pittsburgh.
