The A's have been told they don't have the bullets to land Soriano. Marlins-Tigers-Washington 3-way looks like it's on life support. Another team was told by Bowden he has two deals he can do right now on Soriano _ one with an NL team (Astros?), one with an AL team (Twins?). And on Tejada, I was told there's only a 5 percent chance of that deal going down now.

But with the Mets having already locked up first place, I don't see any compelling reason to trade Milledge, who's going to be immensely valuable for the next four or five years

I was just saying if the Mets traded Pelfrey and Milledge for Oswalt, that's not a bad trade. Either of those guys for Livan, they'd be gettting ripped off
