Tigers stagger to the finish line and for now are saved by the bell. If the season went on another month or so, they probably wouldn't even make the playoffs.
If they somehow turn it around against the Yankees and give them a series, I will say I was wrong;for now I regard them as overachievers who do deserve credit for getting as far as they did.

The bottom line is making it to the playoffs. It doesn't matter how a team gets there. Once they are in the playoffs its a new season. White Sox proved that last year. Many never gave them a chance because they struggled down the stretch. Once they were in the playoffs they were a different team.

Anything can happen in sports, and that is precisely why I didn't lay the -360 or bet on Yanks to win the series or to sweep. I don't gvie -360 on anything.
I think its pretty obvious that Detroit must win tomorrow to ahve a chance, as I think Yanks would have a better chance of rallying from down 1-2 than Detroit.
I still think Yanks win in 4, but then again I gave Red Sox ZERO chance of beating Yanks after being down 0-3 in 2004.
I think Steinbrenner woill go through the roof if Yanks are eliminated in first round with that payroll.
