I'd say the same about Bodog (I keep an account there during football season), VIP, and bet 365, all of which advertise here. All seven of those books have been graded very well by every major reviewer of sportsbooks. Most importantly, they have more than enough funds to pay out several times over.
As for the question, I wouldn't have directly called millenium or the other three "shit books," but I've never had an account there, and never seriously considered it.Records:

Originally posted by BackDoorCvrYou are almost entirely wrong Monte. A small part of the indictment revolves around the fact that he was a bookie in FL during the early 1990's where he had already been arrested. Kaplan was charged with 20 felonies including wire fraud, RICO Conspiracy, interference with IRS laws, tax evasion and interstate transportation of gambling paraphernalia. BOS and their affiliated companies failed to pay federal wagering excise taxes on $3.3 billion in wagers. Undercover agents in St. Louis opened an account and wagered on-line. Since illegal commercial gambling across state and international borders is a crime and BOS accepted these bets they are breaking the law. This continued alleged criminal activity helped the Feds slap a RICO Conspiracy on them. And to top it off, they shipped some hardware and software from one of their companies in FL to Costa Rica that was used in their sportsbook which is a felony (interstate transportation of gambling paraphenalia). Hey, I think the whole thing is bullshit but the facts of the case needed to be put out there. It really has nothing to do with the shit he did as a small time bookie.

Kaptains Version
I have a friend who is an FBI agent, and he told me the following..........
They consider the income from this (4.6B) as a crime.......and the govt. is gonna try and get it all........he says it's like Corporate Crime, if someone is charged with stealing (4.6B), they don't just try and get the taxes on that figure...they go for it all....
The govt (as in Prohibition days) and (Mafia Gambling), can lose this case, so they use the Tax issues as a definite thing to at least get em with.......covering their asses so to speak......
It's a good question, if the $ was gained ilegaly, then the whole amount should be forfeited..........makes sense to me......all other crimes are handled that way....
......It's just a matter of making it hold up in court, and if it doesn't, then the taxes situation falls in place..........kaptLast edited by Kaptain; 07-21-2006, 08:53 AM.

What are the planning to do with the money if they recover it - use it to keep fighting this "crime?"Records:

Got this in an e-mail today...
"There will be NO U.S. Senate Action
soon on H.R. 4411, Online Gambling Bill".
Washington (Reuters)
A bill to ban internet gambling is facing some major opposition in the U.S. Senate and will NOT come up for vote before the chamber takes its August recess, an aide to the U.S. Senate majority leader said on Thursday.
Backers of the bill (view the list) hoped to push it through the U.S. Senate quickly this month in light of David Carruthers, chief executive of BETonSports Plc, arrest on several felony charges."That ain't working, that's the way you do it... get your money for nothing and your picks for free"

I think sometime in the next few years if the legislation passes the Senate(a big if) and people continue to bet online with Offshores which ignore the legislation, that the Govt. may get a warrant, tap someone's(or more than one) computer who they know is gambling, bang on his(their) door arrest him and confiscate his(their) computer.
They have done it with Locals, and for me this is the next logical step if they really want to instill fear into folks.
Does anyone else agree with me and/or do you think it is too far fetched?Last edited by savage1; 07-28-2006, 02:54 PM.
