After tonight- withdrawing- the word in Costa Rica is job security is in big question- many are taliking about returning to teaching, flipping burgers and such. They are closer to the scene- I do not believe this raid was anything special- but to get in for a closer look at the players and setup!Last edited by Spearit; 07-19-2006, 02:57 PM."The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice.

I have gotten grief for saying this, but I would at the least withdraw all money immediately from Cosa Rica based operations.
As many as 50 books have closed in the last 24 hours and I doubt anyone will ever see their money.
Make your own decision about offshores, but at the very least the Costa Rican operations have to be considered very risky.

EDIT - It won't let me post the link, but if you're playing with a book on their Avoid List or Blacklist, you are making a big mistake. Otherwise, you should be safe.Last edited by BettorsChat; 07-20-2006, 08:23 AM.Records:

Alex,
My answer (or advice) is to get out of those in Costa Rica. If this thing settles down in three weeks and no other books close and/or the BoS books (millienium, MVP, Jag, etc.) reopen, you can always put the money right back in.
A good test would be to try to take half out and see if they give you any grief.
No one wants to return to the bad old days of using locals but if you read some of the pain going on right now from people with money tied up at Millenium and BoS, it is sobering.
I personally had a medium-sized account at Millenium, closed it yesterday before the site shut down, but I doubt I will ever get the money back.
I have four other online accounts. None are in Costa Rica but I am considering at least reducing the size of some of them until this plays out

Tomorrows Paper,
I don't know what list you are referring to, but I would bet that as of yesterday some of the books that closed last night were on it.
For heaven's sake, bettorschat is a credible site and several of its reccommended books are now closed.

Those are the ones they say to be wary of, and those are the only ones that are closed.

Can you give me some idea of what this "***" list is?Last edited by BettorsChat; 07-20-2006, 08:24 AM.
