I thought that this question would be fun and could spark some good chats about baseball....
Here we go "Who would you consider the greatest or best player for your favorite NL team and your favorite AL Team?" For example if your team is the Red Sox, some would say Ted Williams others might say Carl Yaz? You get the idea.
If you want to add more teams feel free...sorry if this is in the wrond forum...
I will start...
Angels - This one is hard, because the Angels have rich history of signing free agents that are in the middle their prime or past it...a la Reggie Jackson, Dave Parker, Fred Lynn, Rod Carew, Rick Burleson, Joe Rudi...the list goes on some of the home grown prospects include Garrett Anderson, Tim Salmon, and Brian Downing.
I would say the all-time greatest Angel is Nolan Ryan. (I know he came over from the Mets)
Giants - The Say Hey Kid gets the nod here hands down. Bonds might finish with better numbers, but Willie Mays will always be the best.
Tigers - Al Kaline gets my vote
Twins - Kirby Puckett
Yanks - Babe Ruth
Mets - Tom Seaver
Reds - Pete Rose
That's enough for now...
