Tom Seaver was a pall bearer at my dad's funeral last August. He's a great guy and was a great friend of my dad. He grew up in his shoe repair store...

And when I was in college and he was throwing for the White Sox, I caught him twice at his mom's house between starts.....It's my claim to fame! I still have the ball we used and he signed for me!

And Seaver would definitely get my vote as the best Met ever

        Great story!

          1B KEITH HERNANDEZ
          2B BACKMAN
          SS REYES OR HARRELSON
3B HOWARD JOHNSON SOON 2 BE DAVID WRIGHT
          C PIAZZA
          LF CLIFF FLOYD, McREYNOLDS?
          CF CARLOS BELTRAN, DYKSTRA
          RF DARRYL STRAWBERRY
          RP JOHN FRANCO, TUG MCGRAW
          I agree with most.

          I'd take:
          LHP Jerry Koosman
          LF Cleon Jones
CF Tommy Agee (I'd take Mookie Wilson over Dykstra)

I agree with Franco as the relief pitcher. Jessie Orosco would b e a close second. I agree with TTT. I'd take Carter over Piazza.

hacker, i am big piazza fan.....I just think the position is based on handling a staff, limiting runners from getting in scoring position and then hitting.....I just think Carter called great games, had a decent arm and good bat......Piazza was average defensively below average throwing and a great hitter.......Both had outstanding careers...

Sorry, but I'll take Gary Carter at Catcher

Were's Jerry Koosman, Clean Jones, or Tommy Agee???

The whole 1986 pitching staff lights out.

John Franco best closer by far.
                Good Luck to everyone

                Clark: What's steroids?
Richie: Something that makes your pee-pee smaller.
Clark: There must be steroids in macaroni!

As a Red Sox fan - I would have to say Pedro. Why, because he made it fun to watch the Red Sox again. He totally changed the culture of the Red Sox. And a lot of the atmosphere in Fenway for the last several years was largely due to Petey...
