    • Armadillo: Sunday's six-pack

Six top prospects for the Boston Red Sox:

      1) Jay Groome, P— When your #1 prospect has a 3-9 career record, that says a lot.

      2) Michael Chavis, 3B— Hit .250 in 67 games in the Eastern League LY.

      6) Darwinzon Hernandez, P— Three years in, hasn’t escaped A-ball yet.

      7) Sam Travis, 1B— Ht .263 in 76 big league AB’s last season.

      20) Hector Velasquez, P— Had 2.92 ERA in 25 big league IP last season.

      23) Brian Johnson, P— Struck out 21 batters in 27 big league IP last year.

      **********

Armadillo: Sunday's List of 13: Wrapping up a sports Saturday

      13) Oregon 89, Arizona 83 OT— Most intense regular season college basketball game I’ve seen in years; Arizona was out to win for its suspended coach, with an us-against-them mentality, but they ran out of gas in overtime, and lost despite 28 points, 13 rebounds from Deandre Ayton.

Sean Miller has a weird contract at Arizona; he gets $10.3M if he is fired for cause, but only $5.15M if he is fired without cause. Either way, if Arizona fires him because of this mess, he ain’t gonna have to work anymore.

With all this FBI stuff going on, will the IRS go after the families who took payoff money and didn’t pay taxes on it? If coaches are losing their jobs, I hope they do go after the families.

      12) Shaquille O’Neal’s son is a big time high school recruit this year who had committed to play at Arizona. He de-committed Saturday, which is probably good news for LSU, Shaq’s alma mater.

      11) Virginia 66, Pitt 37— Halftime score: Virginia 30, Pitt 7. I’m not making that up. 30-7. Pitt was 1-22 from the floor in the first half. One basket, 22 shots. No bueno.

Sean Miller is a Pitt alum and from the Pittsburgh area. You wonder if they would hire him once Arizona shows him the door, which could happen soon. Given Arizona’s NCAA troubles, probably not.

      10) Kansas 74, Texas Tech 72— Jayhawks clinched at least a tie for their 14th consecutive Big X title, which is extremely impressive. Don’t think they had the best team in the league this year but that does not matter, since they’ve won the most games.

      9) Creighton 89, Villanova 83 OT— The huge grin Creighton coach Greg McDermott wore in the last few seconds of this game said a lot; the Bluejays are going to the NCAA’s.

Villanova split its last six games; they’ll be a shaky #1 seed when NCAA tournament brackets come out in two weeks.

      8) If you read this space regularly, you know I’m a big fan of the Showtime series Billions. Learned last night that Paul Giamatti, the actor who plays prosecutor Chuck Rhoades, is the son of the late baseball commissioner Bart Giamatti.

Has to be a way they can work Pete Rose into an episode to bust Chuck’s chops.

      7) William & Mary 114, Charleston 104 OT— Cougars scored 1.30 ppp and lost, which almost never happens. Teams combined to shoot 21-47 on arc. W&M blew a 16-point second half lead but made 33-38 on the foul line.

If seeds hold in CAA tourney, these teams would meet in the semifinals.

      6) So far this season, 105 of 351 D-I teams have taken 40%+ of their FGA’s from behind arc; eight years ago, only 33 teams took 40% of their shots behind the arc.

279 of 351 teams have taken 33.3% of their shots behind the arc; eight years ago, only 149 teams did. College basketball has largely become a 6-6 and under sport.

The increase in 3-pointers means more long rebounds, more loose balls— success in shooting 3-pointers is tough to sustain from game-to-game. It creates hugely erratic performances from more and more teams. Makes the sport much harder to handicap.

      5) Oregon State 79, Arizona State 75— Beavers led by 9 with 2:36 to go, ASU tied it with about a minute left, but never scored again. Bobby Hurley was going off on one of the refs as the game went off the air. Sun Devils are 7-9 in the Pac-12, after a 12-0 pre-conference mark- they have no inside game, and their guards played lot better in December than they are now.

      4) Seton Hall 81, St John’s 74 OT— Red Storm played six guys in an overtime game; four of their five starters played more than 40:00— their only sub played 23:00.

      3) Jacksonville Jaguars gave QB Blake Bortles a 3-year, $54M contract, so they’re out of the market for a new quarterback.

      2) Upsets of the Day:
      Wyoming (+9.5) 78, Fresno State 68
      Creighton (+7.5) 89, Villanova 83 OT
      Tenn-Martin (+7) 72, SE Missouri 66
      Indiana State (+6) 66, Bradley 64
      Valparaiso (+5) 69, Drake 64
      Arkansas (+5) 76, Alabama 73
      Louisville (+4) 75, Virginia Tech 68

1— Baseball streak that will never, ever be topped; in 1980, Oakland’s Rick Langford threw 22 straight complete games, one of which went 14 innings. He went 19-12, 3.26 for the season in 35 starts, throwing 290 innings.

        • Sunday's Essentials
          February 25, 2018

Game of the Night - Philadelphia at Washington, ESPN, 8:05 ET

Beyond Boston and Toronto, teams that have built up a cushion likely to keep them in place as the Eastern Conference’s top two seeds once the regular season comes to an end, four of the next five spots are held by teams that enter Sunday’s action with 25 losses.

Cleveland has a slight lead on that pack and would be the No. 3 seed if the playoffs began today, so the remaining teams could very well be vying for the final spot commanding a homecourt advantage in the first round.

The Southeast Division-leading Wizards are looking to remain in the mix until John Wall returns and have done a nice job thus far, coming in 8-4 since their All-Star point guard opted to fix a season-long issue via knee surgery. He revealed that he’s off crutches, so the Wizards realistically will only have to kill another month before bringing him back to get reacclimated.

Bradley Beal has had the ball in his hands more, but lately, Washington’s success can be attributed to them sharing the ball more and finding the open man. Tomas Satoransky had 11 assists in a win over the Knicks just before the All-Star break and came out of it with eight more while shooting 6-for-7 to key a road upset of Cleveland.

The Wizards didn’t look like they had legs the next night in a 122-105 loss to Charlotte, so they’ll be out to avoid a losing streak here. Satoransky and Kelly Oubre will attempt to continue making teams pay for shadowing coverages to get the ball out of Beal’s hands, which will be the key to avoiding a second loss this month against the visiting 76ers.

Philadelphia largely controlled last night’s 116-105 win over Orlando, and even though the Magic trimmed a large deficit down to nine points in the final minutes, head coach Brett Brown stuck to his objective of keeping starters on the bench down the stretch. He was mindful of how big a game this is for his group, which is just starting to learn how to win and has to prove they can elevate their level when games begin to matter more.

Joel Embiid delivered 28 points and 14 rebounds and is expected to play in what will be his third back-to-back situation of his career, all of which have come this month. He also played in the Rising Stars Challenge and the All-Star Game in addition to the marathon of media responsibilities, so we’ll see whether fatigue plays any factor here.

He dominated in a 115-102 win over Washington on March 6, finishing with 27 points and 13 rebounds, which are roughly his averages on the second night of a back-to-back thus far. The 76ers are 1-1 in those games, losing at Indiana and beating the Clippers at home.

The Wizards have scored over 100 points in 12 straight games, so the over is 8-4 in that stretch. The 76ers have played in three straight games that have topped the posted total and have topped the century mark in seven straight. The first three meetings between these teams have all gone ‘over,’ with the last two totals set in the same ballpark as tonight’s number (212.5).

Washington will be looking to split the season series with a victory here after dropping the last two meetings, both of which were played without Wall.

          Houston at Denver, Altitude, 8:05

The Rockets own the NBA’s current longest winning streak (11) and begin a run of road games at three Western Conference playoff contenders over the next four nights. With Trevor Ariza having returned, the Rockets are close to full strength again, although standout sixth man Eric Gordon remains doubtful with an illness that kept him out on Friday night.

Denver opened action after the break with a win over San Antonio, riding Nikola Jokic’s third straight triple-double. Although the Spurs came in short-handed, they still hung around and forced Jokic, Gary Harris and Jamal Murray to make big plays down the stretch. Their growth is essential if the Nuggets are to flourish over the season’s last six weeks.

Denver has won seven of eight outright, the last six of which have all come in games that eclipsed the posted total. There have been at least 223 combined points scored in each of the Nuggets’ last eight contests, a run which includes a 130-104 loss in Houston on Feb. 9. The Rockets also won at home 125-95 on Nov. 22, but should find this first venture into the Mile-High city this season to be far more challenging.

Bookmakers opened this total at 228, but the number came down to 227 in the early morning despite public betting hammering the high side.

San Antonio at Cleveland, ABC, 3:35

The Sunday afternoon showcase is back regularly again, providing an interesting matchup with the Spurs visiting new-look Cleveland. Kawhi Leonard remains out indefinitely and may not be back all season, but Gregg Popovich will have guard Danny Green back after he fell ill before the Nuggets game.

Rudy Gay has also returned to help Kyle Anderson fill in for Leonard, so San Antonio will be deeper than they have been in recent weeks if Manu Ginobili is cleared to play after suffering a chest injury.

On Thursday, the Cavs lost for the first time since moving Isaiah Thomas and five others out of town in a reshuffling of the deck after a brutal run before the trade deadline. Washington took advantage of porous defense with great ball movement, so it will be interesting to see whether San Antonio can similarly execute.

Neither George Hill nor Rodney Hood has excelled the way Jordan Clarkson has thus far, but there does appear to be a different energy with the group. We’ll see whether that continues.

LeBron James has shot 36-for-61 since picking up a batch of new teammates, so he’s clearly been re-energized, averaging 31 points, 8.3 rebounds and 8.7 assists. He’s averaging a triple-double thus far this month.

San Antonio won the first meeting between these teams 114-102 on Jan. 23 despite 28-9-7 from James. Not only did Leonard miss that game, but Pau Gasol, Ginobili and Gay also sat..

-- The Nuggets are 0-10 OU (-15.85 ppg) at home with less than two days rest after they had 30+ assists last game.

            PLAYER TREND OF THE DAY:

-- The Rockets are 11-0 ATS (9.82 ppg) on the road off a win in a home game in which James Harden was their high scorer.

            CHOICE TREND:

-- The Spurs are 12-0 OU (12.58 ppg) as a road dog coming off a loss.

            ACTIVE TRENDS:

-- The 76ers are 0-11 OU (-11.95 ppg) with no rest when they are off two straight wins as favorites.

-- The Pistons are 0-8-1 ATS (-6.94 ppg) after Andre Drummond had more rebounds than points last game.

              Last night's ATS Records
              NBA: 8-1 | NCAA BB: 29-11

There won't be too many days better than Saturday in this business, so I'm confident entering March of a college basketball season where there truly isn't a favorite. Come along on the ride. Customers got a near-perfect night in the pros and got down on four separate college in-game parlays. Both guaranteed plays came in for the second straight night. Of course, there was drama. Always is. Saint Mary's/Santa Clara came in as an in-game parlay I really liked but didn't get around to posting. There were a pair of brutal losses, which you'll read about in detail below. Mostly, however, we simply cashed. From noon to after mindnight, we went all in, buffet-style. 4-0 in SEC and ACC games. 2-0 on Big Ten, beginning with a Michigan/Over winner. Here is Saturday's recap, complete with some of the highlights (and lowlights):

              SUNDAY'S FREE SELECTION

              The pick: Rockets/Nuggets OVER 228

Houston opens a stretch where it will play seven of its next eight games on the road, so the NBA’s current longest winning streak (11) isn’t likely to be extended too much longer since it will be up against three Western Conference playoff contenders over the next four nights. Denver opened with a clutch win over San Antonio and has won seven of eight outright, the last six of which have all come in games that eclipsed the posted total. There have been at least 223 combined points scored in each of the Nuggets’ last eight contests, a run which includes a 130-104 loss in Houston on Feb. 9. The Rockets also won at home 125-95 on Nov. 22, but will find this first venture into the Mile-High city this season to be far more challenging. They’ll still score a bunch, but Denver is better suited to keep pace, especially with Nikola Jokic dominating, having posted three straight triple-doubles. Expect both teams to fill it up in a competitive affair and ride the over.

              SATURDAY'S FREE SELECTION

              The pick: Oregon -2

With Allonzo Trier sidelined, DeAndre Ayton's recruitment under scrutiny and Sean Miller potentially having already coached his last game given the taped conversations the feds have reportedly uncovered to doom him, Arizona is in shambles. Dana Altman's Ducks are in the midst of a successful l run as they try to land on the right side of the bubble and and won't have any sympathy for the plight of the Pac-12's leader. Ride Oregon.

Result: This line grew to as much as 5.5 after the expectation that Miller wouldn't coach came to fruition, but Ayton played and dominated amid taunts, finishing with 28 points and 18 boards. Oregon managed to rally from a double-digit second-half deficit and then survived squandering the lead in regulation to win 98-93 in OT, cashing for most everyone since the line closed in the 4-to-4.5 range.

              SATURDAY'S LOCK

              The pick: Heat -8.5

Look for Erik Spoelstra to exact a little revenge for his buddy David Fizdale, as it definitely appears the Grizzlies will be in trouble here. Dwyane Wade is expected to partake and the Heat will remain locked in after coming up just short in an OT marathon against New Orleans. The Grizzlies will be without Tyreke Evans and Wayne Selden, so getting much done on the perimeter will be an issue. Ride Miami, guaranteed.

Result: We got a bonus here since this pick was made with no knowledge that Marc Gasol would sit on the second night of a back-to-back, so the Grizzlies had little chance of hanging around for 48 minutes with their depleted group. .

              SATURDAY'S OTHER LOCK

              The pick: Duke -14

Marvin Bagley III will return today and the program hasn't been severely impacted by college basketball's scandal thus far, which despite implicating Wendell Carter, Jr., probably will lack the concrete evidence to dump Coach K's empire. Celebrate with a rout of an overmatched Syracuse squad that is too light on quality depth. Lay the points and ride Duke, guaranteed.

Result: I went all-in on this contest as my favorite game of an enormous college card once the Bagley news came in, since it helped bolster Duke's edge in quality depth over a Syracuse squad whose biggest issue all season has been finding enough bodies capable of taking the floor without being exposed. Although the Orange hung around more effectively than expected, a perfectly-timed offensive rebound allowed the Blue Devils to run out the clock on a 60-44 win despite shooting just 2-for-18 from 3-point range. This shouldn't have been that close, but a winner is a winner.

              BAD BEAT BULLETIN

              The pick: Wichita State -7.5

It's definitely strange to be confident in any team that has to lay points at Moody Coliseum since the Mustangs are typically so good there, but the Shockers are a road favorite for a reason here given SMU's depleted state. With Landry Shamet good to run the point after a bout with a bug, we're all in here. Ride Wichita State.

Result: With 1:37 remaining, Conner Frankamp's two free throws put Wichita up 82-65, so all we had to do was run out the clock here. Instead, SMU closed on a prideful 13-2 run, calling timeouts and everything. It looked like my winner would still survive since star point guard Landry Shamet had the ball in his hands as the final few seconds ticked away, but he was pressured unnecessarily, fumbling the ball away. SMU picked it up with 2 seconds left and was immediately fouled, making a pair from the stripe to make the final score 84-78, which matched the closest the game had been since before the second half's first media timeout Bru-tal.

              TOTAL RECALL

              The pick: Timberwolves/Bulls OVER 219

The Timberwolves got pretty good news with Jimmy Butler likely to return for the playoffs after being diagnosed with a meniscus tear. It could've been worse. As things stand now, the Bulls will come into town with Zach LaVine in a groove, Kris Dunn back and looking to run and a very likely big game offensively to be had. Ride the over here.

Result: A 38-point second quarter helped Chicago take a 62-60 edge into the break, so Tom Thibodeau got his team's attention and rode an efficient night from Andrew Wiggins and a spark from Jamal Crawford off the bench to a 62-42 second-half run. Garbage time was kind, as Bulls guard Cameron Payne's 3-pointer with 37.8 left delivered a winner. The Wolves won 122-104.

              UPSET CITY

              The pick: Green Bay +2.5

The Titans should never be favored and are only laying points for the fourth time this season. Although 2-1 straight up in those games, Detroit has only covered once and will face a Phoenix squad that just comes off an upset at Oakland. Ride Green Bay and take the points.

Result: The Phoenix led 61-36 at halftime and survived what was essentially an entire second half of garbage time to win 107-97.

              CARDIAC ATTACK

The pick: Notre Dame PK, Wake/ND OVER 145.5

The Irish are likely to get Bonzie Colson back soon and will need to string together wins to rescue the season. Wake Forest is prone to miscues and has routinely disappointed the fan base, so this is certainly a game the Irish can come into Winston-Salem and steal. Back Notre Dame and the over for the in-game parlay.

Result: This was certainly my favorite cover, helping atone for that awful Wichita/SMU nonsense since my in-game parlay came in under the most unlikely of circumstances. Wake led 69-60 at the under-eight, but was held scoreless for over 4 minutes as the Irish made their comeback. Both teams failed to put up a single point until Matt Farrell's immense 3-pointer with 5 seconds left, but we were still short on the total until Wake failed to get the inbounds pass in safely. Irish center Martinas Geben closed out a 22-point, 14-board night by stealing the pass when it was thrown directly into his body. He was then fouled and buried both free throws in a 76-71 win.

              LATE NIGHT SNACK

              The pick: UC-Irvine +1.5, Hawai'i/UC-I UNDER 132.5

Between the Anteaters being able to lock down defensively and the Warriors known for having trouble putting the ball in the basket, we should expect to see a tight, low-scoring game in Honolulu. Russell Turner's team is again fantastic on defense, which should lead to a victory. Ron UC Irvine and the under for the in-game parlay.

Result: The Anteaters controlled the pace and locked down successfully enough that even a late push didn't create too much concern as they posted a 66-57 win, sweeping the night's final wager. We also got to see popular senior walk-on Zach Buscher throw an inbounds pass alley-oop through the net as a late bonus. That's not a common occurrence.

              SWING AND A MISS

              The pick: Trail Blazers -6.5

The Suns are the worst team in pro basketball, so even though they should be commended for not dropping their heads in completing last night's game against the Clippers by demonstrating some pride, the fact they got down 19-0 should tell you all you need to know. Coming off a big upset over Utah that ended its 11-game winning streak, look for the Trail Blazers to continue their steady play. Lay the points and ride Portland.

Result: Damian Lillard rescued the Blazers in a 106-104 win, but Devin Booker's exploits ensured this never became the blowout I expected. This was the lone blemish of my nine Saturday NBA selections.

              PROOF OF CLAIRVOYANCE

              The pick: Warriors -10, GSW/OKC UNDER 234

Now that Draymond Green is officially good to go despite his shoulder issue, expect the Warriors to squash all doubts in this nationally televised showcase, getting revenge for a pair of lopsided defeats in their first encounters with the new-look Thunder. Ride Golden State -10 and the under for the in-game parlay

Result: The Warriors held Paul George to 0-for-9 shooting in the first half. He and Russell Westbrook finished a combined 5-for-29. The Warriors closed on a 42-14 run that began when they scored the third quarter's final 14 points. In winning 112-80, this was the easiest cover in these national NBA Saturday night showcase games we've seen yet.

              FURTHER PROOF OF CLAIRVOYANCE

              The pick: Virginia -18.5

Kevin Stallings knows his team has little chance of competing here, but the key to limiting the carnage is to limit possessions by being extra cautious with the ball, working clock and attacking late in the clock. It seems perfectly conducive to a game the Cavs should be able to hold Pittsburgh under 45 in. They'll win this by 20-plus since they've improved offensively. Ride Virginia

Result: Virginia held Pitt to just seven first-half points and completely controlled the pace in a 66-37 win that was slightly annoying only because I was leaning towards playing the under too but held back once it dipped to 116.

                      Quote of the Day

“We think we have a better draft when we’ve had an opportunity to see these young players play at an elite level before they come into the NBA. On the other hand, I think the question for the league is: In terms of their ultimate success, are we better off intersecting with them a little bit younger? Are we better off bringing them into the league when they’re 18, using our G League as it was designed to be, as a development league, and getting them minutes on the court there?”

Monday’s List of 13; Wrapping up a sports weekend

                      13) I’m still kind of wondering how Aaron Boone lands a job managing a major league baseball team in New York City, when he has never managed anywhere before, ever.

Dealing with the NYC media is a task in itself; maybe I question that part of it more than the actual X’s and O’s of baseball, which I‘m sure Boone will handle just fine.

Same thing goes for Davey Martinez in Washington, who are expected to make the playoffs again this season. Wouldn’t you want a more experienced guy to handle a really good team?

                      12) One of the best parts of March is that there is almost constant baseball on TV, mostly replays of spring training games from earlier in the day. Season is starting earlier this year, so exhibition games started earlier too. Excellent.

It does bug me when TV guys appear bored to have to work these games. I know they don’t mean anything, obviously the real games aren’t for another month, but John Kruk on the Phillies’ TV games is a big disappointment, and FP Santangelo on Nationals’ game is like an 8-year old with a live microphone. Its your job, pretend you care about doing it well.

                      11) New Mexico 91, UNLV 90- Very fun game to watch; Rebels were only 4-7 on arc, 28-40 on foul line. Very bitter loss when you miss 12 foul shots and lose by one. #10 on New Mexico hit the game-winning 3-pointer; he is 31-61 on the arc for the season.

On New Mexico’s last possession, UNLV took freshman star McCoy out and put Diong in, because Diong is a better defender. When McCoy is deciding whether or not to go to the NBA this spring, the fact that his team takes him out on defense on the most important possession of the game should tell him that he’ll make a lot more money (eventually) if he stays in school for another year and gets bulkier/stronger before he gets drafted into the NBA.

                      10) Duke beat Syracuse 60-44 Saturday night, but were just 2-18 on arc against Syracuse’s 2-3 zone. Blue Devils had been 30-72 on the arc in their previous three games.

                      9) Last year, the Dodgers played only 45 games where their starting pitcher was working on 4 days’ rest, the fewest in the majors. Next fewest were Bronx (53), Astros/Padres (64) and the Nationals (67).

                      8) Red Sox/Tampa Bay play 10 times before May 1st this season; Boston TV guys were pretty much assuming on air Saturday that the Red Sox will kick their butts and get off to a fast start this season. Tampa Bay dumped a lot of its better players this winter.

                      7) There are 15 big league teams training in Arizona, 15 in Florida, so at least one team has to play split squad games every day, to even the schedule out.

                      6) Logan Morrison turned down $20M for two years from the Indians, winds up signing a 1-year, $6.5M deal with Minnesota that best-case, could become two years, $16.5M. Brilliant!!!!

                      5) Houston 109, East Carolina 58— Houston led this game 62-13 at halftime. East Carolina will be hiring a new coach soon; sounds like it is a difficult rebuilding job.

                      4) Unfortunate news from the WCC: San Diego Toreros are having a terrific season this year at 18-12, finished .500 in WCC for first time in 10 years, but coach Lamont Smith was arrested at the Oakland Airport Sunday on three counts of domestic violence.

                      3) Championship Week is actually two weeks and it starts tonight with the Atlantic Sun tournament being played at campus sites. Florida Gulf Coast is favored to win the tournament.

                      2) One of the most interesting bubble teams for March Madness is Nebraska; they’re 22-9, 13-5 in Big 14, but the league is down this year and the Cornhuskers’ non-conference schedule is #281, which makes them likely to miss the NCAA tournament.

Lot of interesting debate on Twitter about Nebraska; no one has ever been 13-5 in the Big 14 and missed the NCAA’s. Until maybe now.

1– Sunday night in Iowa City, Jordan Bohannon intentionally missed a foul shot, ending his streak of 34 consecutive made free throws, which was tied for the school record with Chris Street, who was killed in a snowy car accident January 19, 1993 during his junior season. Street is an Iowa legend; his parents still have season tickets to Hawkeye games.

Bohannon did this with 2:15 left and Iowa leading Northwestern 73-65 in their regular season finale. He left the shot short, off the front rim, and pointed to the sky. Pretty cool gesture.

                          • Spring training roundup focus on Twins
                            February 25, 2018

The Minnesota Twins have powered up their lineup.

Free agent slugger Logan Morrison and the Twins reached agreement on a $65 million, one-year deal, a person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press on Sunday.

The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the contract was subject to a physical.

Morrison had a career-high 38 home runs and 85 RBIs for the Tampa Bay Rays last season, mostly as a first baseman.

The 30-year-old Morrison has also played the corner outfield spots. With Eddie Rosario and Max Kepler in left field and right field and Joe Mauer at first base, Morrison is likely to be the primary designated hitter for a team that earned an AL wild-card spot last season.

AROUND THE GRAPEFRUIT AND CACTUS LEAGUES:

                            NATIONALS 9, BRAVES 3

Scott Kazmir walked two in one inning for Atlanta.

Yoenis Cespedes hit a three-run homer in his second at-bat of the spring for New York. Cespedes singled his first time up and scored on new teammate Todd Frazier's double. Robert Gsellman started and allowed one hit in two innings.

Miami starter Tyler Cloyd lasted just four outs and gave up five runs and seven hits.
