Tuesday MLB Best Bet (8:10 p.m. ET)
          Seattle Mariners vs. Houston Astros

          BetOnline.ag - Odds: Seattle (+166), Houston (-176); Total set at 9.5

The Mariners and Astros had a wild opener to this series last night as it was a back-and-forth slugfest that needed extra innings to be decided. The slugging didn't stop there either as Seattle opened the 10th inning with a pair of HR's to eventually earn a 9-7 victory over the AL West leaders and would love to clinch a series win tonight.

These games are much more important to the Mariners who are in the thick of the Wild Card chase, as opposed to Houston who already has the AL West division locked up. That motivation angle is something to always consider with Houston games going forward, and with their All-Star shortshop Carlos Correa leaving last night's game early with a hand injury and a potential trip to the DL looming, the health angle is another one to consider with the Astros over the next few months.

Staying healthy for a deep playoff run is Houston's primary concern these days and although it's more of a “big picture” type deal, bettors can definitely use it to their advantage in the right spots. Is tonight one of those spots?

          Odds per - BetOnline.ag

          Best Bet: Seattle ML (+166)

Although I've already touched on a few angles that could work negatively for Houston tonight, they are simply additional factors behind the basis of this ML play on Seattle. The Mariners have come out of the break on fire with a 4-0 SU record and they've done it despite some mediocre performances from their starting pitchers.

Tonight's starter Sam Gaviglio had a rough ending to the first half of his season with an 0-3 SU run over his final three starts (one of those vs. Houston), but the time off should have helped and he'll likely get much more support from his teammates who are playing much better at the moment.

Even in the 5-2 loss to Houston that Gaviglio started at the end of June, he didn't pitch horribly as he went six full innings in the start, and that's something only James Paxton can say he's done for Seattle since they returned from last week's time off. If Gaviglio can accomplish a similar feat tonight and the Mariners offense continues to cash in on their opportunities, they'll definitely have a better chance to win this evening than this line suggests.

Speaking of that Seattle offense, they get to face a guy in Brad Peacock who has filled in admirably for Houston this year with all their pitching injuries. However, Peacock's “average” numbers are continually masked by the astronomical run support he's gotten from his teammates this year.

Despite what the 7-1 SU record and 2.63 ERA suggests on Peacock, he's nowhere near as good as that and if it weren't for the 8.3 runs/game he's gotten in support, things would be a lot worse. Houston has scored 16 and 19 runs alone in his last two outings and when your teammates have clinched the game early like that, strong pitching statistics are sure to follow.

I say that because when a pitcher is up big, he can simply go out there and attack the strikezone and force the guys to hit it all over the park. Gone are the worries of trying to pick corners on key guys in tight spots – which leads to walks – and there are no stressful moments for the guy on the mound. That's the type of ease Peacock has been pitching with his last few outings and it's definitely worked to his advantage.

However, with the way the Mariners have been playing of late, and the likelihood of Correa on the bench regardless of a DL spot or not, I wouldn't be so sure Peacock will get that run support he's thrived on this year. If that's the case, look for him to find himself in some high leverage situations that he hasn't experienced in awhile and hopefully for the sake of this wager will be his undoing.

Both of Houston's losses with Peacock on the hill this year have come at home against division rivals, and Seattle's got a great chance to add their name to that list tonight.

          • Tuesday's Diamond Notes
            July 18, 2017

Hottest team: Nationals (5-0 past five games, 9-2 past 11 overall)

The Nationals completed a four-game sweep of their wrap-around series with the Reds in Cincinnati on Monday afternoon, outscoring the Redlegs by a 35-12 score. Now, they'll try their hand at interleague play in Southern California against the Angels and they'll really put the winning streak to the test with retread Edwin Jackson on the bump. The veteran right-hander appeared in three relief appearances for the Orioles this season, allowing four earned runs and 11 hits over five innings. Jackson won just two of his final eight starts last season for San Diego.

Coldest team: Diamondbacks (0-5 past five games, 1-8 past nine overall)

The Diamondbacks have really the skids lately, dropping five in a row. They've hit rock-bottom with a three-game sweep in Atlanta. Now, their road trip continues in Cincinnati. They dropped two of three to the Reds just before the All-Star break, so they're certainly looking to exact a little revenge. Arizona has dropped six in a row on the road, although they're 7-3 over their past 10 road games against a right-handed starter. And they send All-Star Robbie Ray to the mound. Arizona is 5-0 over his past five starts against a team with a losing overall record, 4-1 in his past five outings on the road and 7-2 over his past nine assignments overall. The D-Backs have won six of their past eight trips to Great American Ball Park on the banks of the Ohio River.

Hottest pitcher: Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers (14-2, 2.18 ERA)

The All-Star Kershaw takes the hill at Guaranteed Rate Park on the south side of Chicago in search of his 15th victory. He has posted a 14-2 record, 2.18 ERA and 159 strikeouts through 132 1/3 innings across 19 starts so far this season while holding the opposition to a .195 batting average. He also sports an impressive 0.88 WHIP, second-best in the majors behind Washington's Max Scherzer. Los Angeles has won four straight interleague games, six of the past seven on the road and 42 of 53 overall. They're even better with their ace, going 7-0 in Kershaw's past seven interleague assignments, 6-0 in his past six against the AL Central and 45-9 across his past 54 starts overall. Dominance.

Coldest pitcher: John Lackey, Cubs (5-9, 5.20 ERA)

The veteran Lackey gets another chance to prove himself, but so far this season has been a complete disaster. He sits four games under .500 on the season through 17 starts, issuing 30 walks with 86 strikeouts and a dismal 1.33 WHIP across 98 2/3 innings. Opponents are having moderate success against him, posting a .264 average with 101 hits, better than one per frame. Most of the damage has come via the home run, as Lackey has served up 24 bombs, tied for second-most in the majors and most overall in the NL. The Cubs are just 1-4 over his past five road starts and 0-4 in his past four tries against NL East foes. The good news is Chicago will be facing a left-handed starter, and they're 7-0 in their past seven tries against southpaws.

Biggest UNDER run: Angels (6-0-2 past eight games, 13-3-2 past 18 overall)

The 'under' has been a solid play in Angels games lately, as their offense has been really struggling and their pitching staff has been doing a good job. The Angels welcomed Mike Trout (thumb) back to the lineup after the All-Star break, but so far he hasn't made much of a difference. They're averaging just 2.7 runs per game in three outings since returning, and 2.6 runs per game over the past 17 outings overall. While they cut break out against journeyman Edwin Jackson on Tuesday, they have to face Gio Gonzalez (8-4, 2.66 ERA) on Wednesday in what might be another slam-dunk 'under' result.

Biggest OVER run: Astros (10-2-1 past 13 games overall)

The final two games of Houston's series against Minnesota resulted in a pair of 'under' plays, but it was right back to big offensive numbers in the series opener against Seattle. The teams combined for 16 runs in a 9-7 loss to the Mariners on Tuesday. With Sam Gaviglio against Brad Peacock on Tuesday, it's not exactly Sandy Koufax against Warren Spahn, so another 'over' result could follow. The over is 8-3 in Houston's past 11 at home, 12-3-1 in their past 16 overall and 7-1 when facing a starting pitcher with a WHIP over 1.30. While the under is 11-5 across Peacock's past 16 outings overall, the over is a perfect 4-0 in Houston's past four home games against a team with a losing road mark.

Matchup to watch: Athletics vs. Rays

The Rays have looked quite rejuvenated since the All-Star break. They're 3-1 in four games since the break, and 5-1 over their past six overall. Pitching has been a major part of their success, as Tampa Bay's pitching staff is allowing just 2.2 runs per game across the past six outings. As you can imagine, that's good for the 'under', too, going 4-1-1 during the span. The Athletics fired out of the chute with a three-game sweep of the Indians, but they fell back to Earth with a 3-2 loss in the series opener against Tampa Bay. Like Tampa, the A's have been getting quite the performance on the mound lately. Oakland's staff is allowing just 2.7 runs per game over the past six outings, so an 'under' looks mighty attractive on Tuesday.

Betcha didn’t know: Fellow handicapper Kevin Rogers, who can be followed on Twitter at VIROGERS, pointed out that Tuesday's Arizona-Cincinnati matchup features Ray-Romano, perhaps one of the funniest matchups on the board this season. It's not quite Fister-Furbush from a couple of seasons ago, or Dickey-Wang, but Ray-Romano is pretty good. There have been some quality pitcher-catcher combinations over the years, such as Buck-Hunter, Lyon-Treanor, Ellis-Eiland, May-Flowers and Peavy-Herrmann, just in case you were wondering.

Biggest public favorite: Dodgers (-255) at White Sox

Biggest public underdog: Rays (+110) at Athletics

Biggest line move: Braves (+130 to -105) vs. Cubs

              • MLB roundup: Cardinals' Wacha three-hits Mets 5-0
                July 18, 2017

CHICAGO -- Clayton Kershaw earned his major-league-leading 15th win as he tossed seven shutout innings in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 1-0 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.

Kershaw (15-2) extended his unbeaten streak to 14 starts since May 6, a stretch that includes 11 victories. He allowed seven hits and one walk while striking out seven.

Pedro Baez pitched the eighth, and closer Kenley Jansen worked the ninth for his 24th save as Los Angeles won its 10th straight game. The lone run scored on Cody Bellinger's first-inning single.

Chris Taylor went a career-high-tying 4-for-5 and scored while Bellinger was 2-for-2 with two walks. Chicago's Miguel Gonzalez (4-9) worked six innings in losing his fourth straight and ninth in his past 10 starts.

                Cardinals 5, Mets 0

NEW YORK -- Michael Wacha tossed a three-hitter for his first career complete game as St. Louis shutout New York.

Matt Carpenter had four hits -- his 11th career four-hit game -- for St. Louis. Wacha (7-3) allowed only a two-out single to Yoenis Cespedes in the first, a one-out double to Michael Conforto in the sixth and a leadoff single to Conforto in the ninth.

Wacha, who also helped his cause by going 1-for-4 with a run-scoring fielder's choice grounder, has won his last four starts -- a stretch in which he's allowed three runs over 26 2/3 innings.

                Diamondbacks 11, Reds 2

CINCINNATI -- Chris Hermann and Rey Fuentes homered, and Arizona tied a season high with nine extra-base hits while snapping a season-high five-game losing streak.

On a night when they acquired slugging outfielder J.D. Martinez in a trade with the Detroit Tigers, the Diamondbacks saw their struggling offense erupt for six runs in the fifth inning. David Peralta went 3-for-5 with a double and RBI for Arizona.

Diamondbacks left-hander Robbie Ray (9-4) allowed two runs on four hits in six innings and retired seven of the final eight batters he faced. He recorded his 500th career strikeout in the fourth inning and finished with four on the night.

                Orioles 12, Rangers 1

BALTIMORE -- Chris Davis homered twice, including a grand slam, and drove in a career-high six runs as Baltimore banged out four homers to beat Texas.

Davis hit a two-run shot in the first as the Orioles scored six times against the Rangers' Tyson Ross (2-2). The grand slam came off Austin Bibens-Dirkx in the fourth and broke the game open, giving the Orioles a 10-1 lead.

Trey Mancini and Seth Smith hit the other Orioles homers. Mancini's was a two-run bomb during in the first, while Smith led off the eighth with a solo shot.

                Astros 6, Mariners 2

HOUSTON -- Evan Gattis belted two home runs and Brad Peacock produced the best start of his career as Houston beat Seattle.

Gattis socked both homers, his ninth and 10th on the season, off Sam Gaviglio (3-5). Jose Altuve finished 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Astros. Every starter excluding Yuli Gurriel reached base at least once.

Peacock (8-1) extended his winning streak to five consecutive starts, limiting the Mariners to one run on three hits and one walk over a season-high seven innings. Peacock recorded nine strikeouts.

                Yankees 6, Twins 3

MINNEAPOLIS -- Didi Gregorius had three hits, including a two-run homer in a five-run fifth inning, and New York spoiled Bartolo Colon's Minnesota debut.

Ronald Torreyes added three hits for the Yankees. Aaron Judge had two hits, a walk, two runs and an RBI, and Gary Sanchez added two hits and two RBIs for New York, which has won 11 of its past 14 games against Minnesota.

The 44-year-old Colon (2-9), pitching for his 10th team, gave up four runs on eight hits in four-plus innings. His ERA rose to 8.19 in 14 major league starts this season with the first 13 coming with Atlanta.

                Pirates 4, Brewers 3

PITTSBURGH -- Francisco Cervelli and Josh Harrison homered and David Freese provided the go-ahead single -- all in a four-run sixth inning -- as Pittsburgh rallied past Milwaukee.

The Pirates' Starling Marte received a warm reception in his first game after serving an 80-game suspension for PED use, walking after Cervelli's solo shot and scored on Harrison's blast. Marte made a sliding catch of Ryan Braun's soft line drive to end the first.

Travis Shaw's three-run homer off the Pirates' Ivan Nova (10-6) in the third inning was the extent of the Brewers' offense.

                Rockies 9, Padres 7

DENVER -- Slumping Carlos Gonzalez drove in three runs and Mark Reynolds ended a long homer drought as Colorado held off San Diego.

After the Padres struck for three runs in the first, Reynolds hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the inning. It was his 20th homer but first in 55 at-bats since June 26.

Gonzalez's two-run double highlighted a four-run fifth that gave the Rockies a 6-4 lead. He singled home a run in the sixth that put the Colorado ahead 9-6. The double was Gonzalez's first extra-base hits since June 21.

                Tigers 9, Royals 3

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Nicholas Castellanos had four hits, including a pair of solo home runs, and drove in five runs as Detroit beat fading Kansas City.

The four hits and five RBIs equaled career highs for Castellanos. He tripled home a pair of runs to cap off a five-run second inning. Castellanos homered in the fifth and seventh innings and his eighth-inning two-out single scored Dixon Machado.

The Tigers' Matthew Boyd (3-5), who was 0-2 with a 13.17 ERA in his first four career starts at Kauffman Stadium, yielded three runs on four hits, a hit batter and a sacrifice fly in the first before settling down. He pitched six innings.

                Phillies 5, Marlins 2

MIAMI -- Maikel Franco's home run overshadowed another shot by Giancarlo Stanton as Philadelphia defeated Miami.

Franco's solo blast to left-center field broke a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning. It was his 14th homer of the season and his fourth this month while his past three homers have broken deadlocks.

All-Star reliever Pat Neshek (3-2) threw one scoreless inning to earn the win for the Phillies (31-61), who have the worst record in the majors. Hector Neris tossed a perfect ninth inning for his ninth save.

                  200-1— Billy Horschel

                  ****************************

                  Wednesday’s List of 13: Mid-week musings…….

                  13) TheMMQB.com ran a very interesting feature this week— an all-time draft of NFL players, with some veteran NFL minds drafting the players. Bill Polian, Ernie Accorsi, Dan Fouts, Gil Brandt were four of the 12 people picking teams.

None of this solves anything, but it is great fodder for debate. Here are the 12 QB’s who were taken, in the order they were selected.

                  1) Unitas 2) Brady 3) Otto Graham 4) Montana 5) Elway 6) Staubach 7) Manning 8) Bradshaw 9) Rodgers 10) Favre 11) Marino 12) Aikman

                  12) Other highlights of the draft:
                  — Lawrence Taylor was the first player taken. I have a friend Scott who knows more about football than anyone I know— when he reads that, he is not going to like it.
                  — Dan Fouts drafted Terry Bradshaw; he should’ve drafted Dan Fouts, who was better than Bradshaw and Aikman.
                  — Fouts drafted Ray Guy in the first round; I don’t have an explanation for that.
                  — Sammy Baugh got drafted, but as a punter, not a QB.
                  — Each team also drafted a coach; here are the 12 coaches picked, in order:

                  1) Lombardi 2) Walsh 3) Levy/Dungy (co-coach— Bill Polian did that) 4) Noll 5) Shula 6) Gibbs 7) Landry 8) Belichick 9) Coryell 10) Paul Brown 11) Curly Lambeau 12) Madden

No Parcells is weird; picking your buddies Levy/Dungy over Belichick is plain stupid. George Allen could be in this group of 12, but some of these guys just took their friends. Then again, if I was picking a team, my coach undoubtedly would’ve been Dick Vermeil.

Again, the whole draft is on TheMMQB.com. It is kind of fun to look through.

                  11) Best coaches who were left out: Parcells, Vermeil, Hank Stram, Bud Grant, Jimmy Johnson, Tom Flores, Sid Gillman.

                  10) Best QB’s who were left out: Bart Starr, Drew Brees, Ken Stabler, Kurt Warner, Jim Kelly, Fran Tarkenton, Steve Young.

                  9) Dodgers have swept 11 series this year; Clayton Kershaw didn’t pitch in 3 of the 11 series.

                  8) Announced attendance in Oakland Monday night was 9,736, a very quiet 9,736. It was the A’s smallest home crowd in six years.

When you start selling off players, it may be good business over the long haul, but it sends the message that “we’ve quit for this year.” People don’t like to shell out money to watch teams who have quit for the season.

White Sox are 0-4 since dealing Jose Quintana; A’s are now 1-1 since trading the two relievers to the Nationals. I’m going to track this as teams sell off guys the rest of this month.

                  7) Former big league 1B James Loney is off to Korea to play for the LG Twins on a $350,000 deal. Eric Thames played over in Korea for three years and now he is back in the majors with Milwaukee.

                  6) Weird Story of the Day: Cowboys WR Lucky Whitehead is asking for help locating his pitbull Blitz, who was abducted; the thieves are demanding a $10,000 ransom. Seriously, they are.

                  5) I wish they’d legalize online poker in this country so ESPN would start showing the World Series of Poker again (no one will buy commercial time if online poker is illegal). First prize this year is $8.1M; the final table is set, but I’ve never heard of any of the nine guys.

If you’re the first guy eliminated at the final table, you still bank $1M, so thats not too bad.

                  4) NBA season is starting October 17 this year, earlier than usual, as the league tries to reduce the amount of back/backs each team plays.

                  3) Astros’ SS Carlos Correa is out 6-8 weeks (thumb), another victim of the headfirst slide. Guys need to wear that hand protector Mike Trout is wearing now if they want to slide headfirst.

                  2) White Sox traded Todd Frazier, David Robertson and Shaker High’s Tommy Kahnle to the Bronx for Tyler Clippard (???) and two prospects. According to someone on Twitter who says they know a lot about the minor leagues, White Sox have 10 of the top 68 prospects in the minors, but top prospect Yoan Moncada is now headed to the Windy City.

                  1) Arizona acquired free agent-to-be JD Martinez from Detroit for three prospects. Guy on MLB Network said the three prospects aren’t that great, and that Arizona got off cheap on the deal.

                    • MLB notebook: D-backs acquire slugger Martinez from Tigers
                      July 18, 2017

The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired right fielder J.D. Martinez from the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday in exchange for three prospects.

Martinez provides a right-handed power bat for the Diamondbacks, who sent minor league infielders Dawel Lugo, Sergio Alcantara and Jose King to the Tigers.

The 29-year-old Martinez missed nearly the first six weeks of the season after suffering a Lisfranc sprain in his right foot during spring training. He was batting .305 with 16 home runs and 39 RBIs in 57 games.

In his fourth year with Detroit, Martinez clubbed 83 homers in his previous three seasons, establishing career highs with 38 blasts and 102 RBIs in 2015.

--Houston Astros All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa will miss six to eight weeks with a torn ligament in his left thumb.

Correa suffered the injury during Monday's game against the Seattle Mariners when he jammed the thumb on a swing. He said afterward that he felt a high dose of pain.

The re-examination on Tuesday diagnosed the severity of the injury. Correa said he underwent an MRI exam and will undergo surgery on a yet-to-be-determined date.

At 62-31, the Astros own the second-best record in the majors. They will now be without their 22-year-old star, who is batting .320 with 20 homers and 67 RBIs, for up to two months.

--Milwaukee Brewers catcher Stephen Vogt will miss at least one month due to a sprained MCL in his left knee, manager Craig Counsell said.

Vogt was injured in Monday's game during a collision at home plate with Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Chad Kuhl. Vogt also took an inadvertent elbow in the head from Kuhl on the play and had to be helped off the field.

Vogt was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday. Right-hander Junior Guerra (shin) was activated from the disabled list to start Tuesday's game.

Vogt is batting .250 with four homers in 28 at-bats for the Brewers since being claimed off waivers from the Oakland Athletics. The two-time All-Star hit just .217 with four homers in 157 at-bats with Oakland before being designated for assignment in late June.

--Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Starling Marte was reinstated from Major League Baseball's restricted list after serving an 80-game suspension for testing positive for the performance-enhancing substance Nandrolone.

Marte is expected to be in the lineup Tuesday night and bat leadoff as Pittsburgh (45-48) hosts the National League Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers (52-43) in the second contest of a four-game series.

Infielder Phil Gosselin was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis to make room for Marte, who was batting .241 with two homers and seven RBIs in 13 games this season.

The 28-year-old Dominican made the National League All-Star team for the first time last season when he batted a career-best .311 and set a personal high with 47 stolen bases. He also won a Gold Glove for the second straight season.

--New York Yankees first baseman Greg Bird insisted that he wishes to play again this season despite undergoing ankle surgery.

Bird released a statement shortly after the surgery and one day removed from the Yankees announcing that his season likely is over.

"All this time, I have wanted nothing more than to be out there playing the game I love as a member of the New York Yankees," Bird said in the statement. "My season is not over. I plan to do everything in my power to return and help our team win in 2017."

Manager Joe Girardi told reporters that Bird likely would be sidelined six weeks, with the 24-year-old resuming baseball activities in September.

--First baseman James Loney signed a one-year, $350,000 contract with the LG Twins of the Korean Baseball Organization, the team announced.

Loney requested and received his release in May from the Atlanta Braves' Triple-A affiliate in Gwinnett. He had signed with the club after Freddie Freeman fractured his left wrist, although Atlanta quickly acquired first baseman Matt Adams from the St. Louis Cardinals.

The 33-year-old Loney batted .288 with 108 homers and 669 RBIs during his 11-year major league career. Loney hit .265 with nine homers and 34 RBIs in 100 games last season with the New York Mets.

                      • LEADING OFF: JD Martinez joins Diamondbacks, Gray auditions
                        July 18, 2017

A look at what's happening all around the majors Wednesday:

                        DONE DEAL

Infielder Todd Frazier and relievers David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle are headed to the Yankees, maybe in time for an afternoon game at Minnesota. New York made an early push for playoff run late Tuesday night, sending reliever Tyler Clippard and three minor leaguers to the last-place White Sox. Chicago is calling up its top prospect, 22-year-old infielder Yoan Moncada, from the minors before its game at home against the Dodgers.

                        WELCOME

Star outfielder J.D. Martinez joins the Arizona Diamondbacks, a day after they got him from Detroit for a trio of prospects. Martinez is expected to take over in left field and provide sorely needed pop against left-handed pitching. He is hitting .305 with 16 home runs and 39 RBIs going into Arizona's game at Cincinnati. The Diamondbacks are in firm control of a wild-card spot, but far back of the Dodgers in the NL West.

                        BACK AT 10 AGAIN

The Dodgers can win their 11th straight when they conclude a two-game set against the White Sox. Los Angeles owns the best record in baseball at 65-29 and has won 30 of 34, including its second 10-game winning streak of the season. Dodgers right-hander Kenta Maeda (7-4, 4.38) will face Chicago lefty Carlos Rodon (1-2, 4.32).

                        SCOUTING SONNY

Oakland right-hander Sonny Gray may be auditioning for shopping contenders when he starts against Tampa Bay. Gray (5-4, 3.72) has been one of the sharpest pitchers supposedly on the trade block, going 3-1 with a 1.33 ERA in his past four starts. He'll try to extend that run against promising Rays rookie Jacob Faria (4-0, 2.00).

                        SHOCK JOCK

Chris Christie will have plenty to talk about after catching a foul ball during the Cardinals-Mets game at Citi Field. The embattled soon-to-be-ex-New Jersey governor drew cheers when he made a one-handed snag on a high pop by St. Louis rookie Paul DeJong that bounced in the stands - but once it became clear the fan in a blue shirt and red tie was Christie, those cheers turned to boos. Christie, a Republican who'll leave office in January, had a 15 percent approval rating in recent polls. He tried out this month for a spot on popular New York sports radio station WFAN, and the catch could at least provide fodder for another appearance.

                        JUST JAKE

Mets ace Jacob deGrom tries to win his seventh straight start when he faces the visiting Cardinals. Snubbed for the NL All-Star team, deGrom (10-3) has a 1.53 ERA during his winning streak.
