MIAMI (AP) Yasiel Puig hit his second homer of the game with two outs in the ninth inning Friday night, and the three-run shot helped the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Miami Marlins 6-4 for their seventh consecutive victory.

Corey Seager also homered for the Dodgers (62-29), who were one strike from defeat three times before winning for the 27th time in the past 31 games.

The Marlins led 4-3 when Joc Pederson singled on a 1-2 pitch with two outs in the ninth against A.J. Ramos (2-4). Pederson moved up on a wild pitch, Yasmani Grandal walked on a 3-2 pitch, and both runners advanced on another wild pitch.

Puig fell behind 1-2 before pulling a 94 mph fastball into the home run sculpture. It was his 18th homer this year, and the second blown save by Ramos.

Josh Fields (5-0) worked a perfect eighth, and Kenley Jansen followed with a 1-2-3 ninth for his 22nd save.

      RED SOX 5, YANKEES 4

BOSTON (AP) - Aroldis Chapman walked home the winning run without getting an out in the ninth inning, handing Boston a victory over New York.

Chapman (2-1) gave up two runs in the ninth for his third blown save. New York entered tied for the major league lead with 17 blown saves.

Mookie Betts and Dustin Pedroia started the rally with consecutive singles and a successful double steal. Betts scored when second baseman Ronald Torreyes booted Xander Bogaerts' grounder.

After an intentional walk to Hanley Ramirez, Chapman walked Andrew Benintendi on five pitches to bring home Pedroia.

Robby Scott (1-1) got the win for the Red Sox, who got their first victory over the Yankees at home this season. It was Boston's first game-ending walk since Sept. 23, 2000, against Baltimore.

      CUBS 9, ORIOLES 8

BALTIMORE (AP) - Addison Russell hit a go-ahead solo homer in the ninth inning and Chicago edged Baltimore after squandering an eight-run lead.

Mark Trumbo tied the game at 8 with a two-run homer off Koji Uehara (3-4) in the eighth. Russell responded when he hit a first-pitch fastball from Brad Brach (2-2) over the left field fence.

Wade Davis picked up his 17th save.

Willson Contreras and Kyle Schwarber hit back-to-back homers in a four-run first inning for the Cubs. Ben Zobrist also homered onto the flag court behind the right field scoreboard, and Jason Heyward reached Eutaw Street with another towering shot.

Chicago improved to 3-6 in interleague play after going 15-5 against the AL last season.

Welington Castillo homered for the Orioles, who left 10 runners on base. Kevin Gausman tied a career high by allowing eight runs and seven hits over three innings. He also gave up four home runs - the most of his career.

      ASTROS 10, TWINS 5

HOUSTON (AP) - Brian McCann hit a three-run homer to cap an eight-run second inning, Marwin Gonzalez had a solo shot and Houston opened the second half of the season with a win over Minnesota.

Gonzalez, Alex Bregman, George Springer, Josh Reddick and Carlos Correa each had an RBI to chase starter Jose Berrios (8-3). McCann, who struck out to start the second inning, greeted Phil Hughes with his homer.

Gonzalez finished with three hits and two RBIs. Every Astros batter had at least one hit.

Charlie Morton (7-3) allowed five runs - four earned - and three hits with 10 strikeouts and a career high-tying five walks in five innings.

      BREWERS 9, PHILLIES 6

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Ryan Braun hit a grand slam off the scoreboard in center field and Orlando Arcia added a three-run shot during an eight-run second inning, helping Milwaukee beat Philadelphia.

Nick Pivetta (2-5) struck out his first four batters before the Brewers got on top of his fastball in the second. Arcia hit his ninth home run, and Braun crushed the first pitch for his sixth career grand slam, most in franchise history.

Zach Davies (11-4) won his fourth straight start, but it was a struggle. He labored through the first and fifth innings before being pulled with one out and two on in the sixth. He was charged with six runs, five earned.

Corey Knebel pitched the ninth for his 15th save.

      BRAVES 4, DIAMONDBACKS 3

ATLANTA (AP) - Freddie Freeman and Atlanta topped baseball's comeback kings at their own game, scoring two runs in the eighth inning to beat Arizona.

The Diamondbacks lead the majors with 29 come-from-behind wins and were in position for No. 30 when Chris Owings scored the tiebreaking run on a wild pitch in the eighth.

The Braves answered quickly against Archie Bradley (3-2). Ender Inciarte beat second baseman Brandon Drury's throw to first for an infield single and raced to third on Brandon Phillips' double into the right-field corner. Freeman's single to left scored Inciarte and Phillips.

Freeman hit his 17th homer and drove in two runs. Arizona's Paul Goldschmidt hit his 21st homer.

Rex Brothers (1-0) got the last out in the eighth. Jim Johnson pitched the ninth for his 20th save in 27 chances.

      PIRATES 5, CARDINALS 2

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Josh Bell hit a three-run homer off Seung Hwan Oh with one out in the ninth inning to give Pittsburgh a dramatic win over St. Louis.

Adam Frazier led off the bottom of the ninth with a double and Oh intentionally walked Andrew McCutchen with one out. Bell, a rookie, stepped in and sent a pitch from Oh (1-5) into the seats in left field for the first game-ending hit of his career. The Pirates have won six of seven.

Bell finished 2 for 3 with four RBIs. His 17 home runs lead the Pirates.

Felipe Rivero (4-2) retired the Cardinals on seven pitches in the top of the ninth.

Frazier added three hits for Pittsburgh. Jedd Gyorko hit a two-run homer in the first inning, but St. Louis was limited to just four hits the rest of the way against Gerrit Cole and three relievers.

      METS 14, ROCKIES 2

NEW YORK (AP) - Jacob deGrom came out dealing once again, striking out 11 and winning his sixth straight start as New York began what could be a last-chance homestand by routing Colorado.

Michael Conforto and T.J. Rivera homered, Yoenis Cespedes got four hits and deGrom contributed two singles for the Mets, who trail Colorado by 9 1/2 games for the second NL wild card.

The Rockies posted their best record ever before the All-Star break, but absorbed their most lopsided defeat of the season while losing for the 14th time in 19 games. Big-hitting Nolan Arenado exited a few innings early with a sore hip after slipping on the bases on a misty night.

DeGrom (10-3), snubbed for the All-Star team, gave up four hits and one earned run in eight innings. He also fanned at least 10 for the seventh time this year.

Jon Gray (2-1) was tagged for eight runs on nine hits and three walks in two-plus innings.

      NATIONALS 5, REDS 0

CINCINNATI (AP) - Gio Gonzalez pitched four-hit ball into the ninth inning, and Bryce Harper extended his mid-July tear with a pair of homers to lead Washington over Cincinnati.

Gonzalez (8-4) snapped his streak of three straight tough-luck losses. He allowed a double and three infield singles before leaving with one out in the ninth after his 113th pitch. Matt Albers gave up three singles, and Matt Grace escaped the bases-loaded threat for his first save.

The Reds were shut out for the second time this season. Four of their seven hits were infield singles.

Harper had a two-run shot and a solo homer off Tim Adleman (5-7) as the NL's top offense got right back in form after the All-Star break. Harper has 22 homers overall, four during his nine-game hitting streak.

      BLUE JAYS 7, TIGERS 2

DETROIT (AP) - Aaron Sanchez pitched six strong innings for his first win of the season as Toronto beat Detroit.

Steve Pearce and Jose Bautista homered for the Blue Jays, who won the opener of a 10-game road trip.

Sanchez (1-2) allowed one unearned run and seven hits to win for the first time since beating Boston on Oct. 2. He struck out four.

Justin Verlander (5-7) permitted only three hits, but needed 114 pitches to get through 5 1/3 innings. He gave up three runs, two earned.

      MARINERS 4, WHITE SOX 2

CHICAGO (AP) - Robinson Cano hit a three-run drive on his first swing since connecting for the winning homer in the All-Star Game, helping James Paxton and Seattle beat Chicago.

Jean Segura added two hits and scored twice as the Mariners started a six-game trip with their third victory in four games. Paxton (8-3) struck out nine while pitching six effective innings in his third straight win.

Cano, who went deep in the 10th inning of the American League's 2-1 victory Tuesday night in Miami, walked on four pitches in the first. He came up again with two on and one out in the third and drove the first pitch from James Shields (2-2) off the top of the wall in right-center for his 18th homer, giving the Mariners a 3-1 lead.

The last-place White Sox have dropped five of six. It was Chicago's first game since it traded left-hander Jose Quintana to the crosstown Cubs on Thursday.

      RANGERS 5, ROYALS 3

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Adrian Beltre hit a three-run homer, pinch-hitter Mike Napoli had a go-ahead, two-run shot and Texas rallied to defeat Kansas City.

Martin Perez (5-6) allowed eight hits and a walk over seven innings, but kept all that traffic to just three runs. Two of those came in the second, when Alcides Escobar homered.

Beltre connected in the sixth off Royals starter Jason Hammel, who had just permitted back-to-back singles - the first hits off him all night. It was Beltre's 453rd homer, passing Carl Yastrzemski for 38th on the career list. The drive also gave Beltre 1,601 RBIs in 20 big league seasons.

Napoli homered in the seventh off reliever Mike Minor (5-2).

Matt Bush breezed through a perfect eighth and Alex Claudio handled the ninth for his second save, giving the Rangers their 10th straight win over Kansas City dating to last July.

      RAYS 2, ANGELS 1, 10 INNINGS

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Mike Trout went 1 for 5 in his return from a 39-game injury absence, and Brad Miller had an RBI double in the 10th inning of Tampa Bay's victory over Los Angeles.

Trout looked healthy in his first game since May 28, when he tore a ligament in his left thumb sliding headfirst into second base. In his comeback game from the first significant injury of his career, the two-time AL MVP singled in the third inning and promptly stole second - again sliding headfirst, as he promised.

Trout came up with two late chances to help the Angels, but grounded out with two runners on to end the seventh before Alex Colome struck him out on three pitches to end it.

Wilson Ramos got a two-out single in the 10th and scored on Miller's long drive off Cam Bedrosian (2-1).

Brad Boxberger (2-0) pitched the ninth, and Colome earned his 26th save as Tampa Bay won for the seventh time in 10 games. Evan Longoria homered early for the Rays.

Albert Pujols hit his 605th career homer for the Angels, who lost for the sixth time in eight games despite seven innings of two-hit ball from starter Ricky Nolasco.

      ATHLETICS 5, INDIANS 0

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Sonny Gray and three relievers combined on a four-hitter, and Oakland blanked Cleveland to spoil the return of Indians manager Terry Francona.

Yonder Alonso and Rajai Davis homered in the fifth inning, and the A's tossed their third shutout of the year.

Gray (5-4) allowed two hits over six innings in one of his strongest outings this season. Santiago Casilla got three outs for his 16th save.

Francona returned to the bench following a six-game absence when he underwent a minor procedure for an irregular heartbeat last week. The Cleveland skipper had also been scheduled to manage the American League in Tuesday night's All-Star Game but had to skip it.

The Indians were shut out for the fourth time in their last 17 games and sixth time overall.

Carlos Carrasco (10-4) struck out 10 in 6 1/3 innings but lost to Oakland for the first time in five career starts.

      GIANTS 5, PADRES 4

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Denard Span singled home the go-ahead run in the sixth and Buster Posey homered an inning later for San Francisco, which held on to beat San Diego in a matchup between two of the worst teams in baseball.

The Giants snapped a four-game losing streak and won for the second time in seven games. They remain last in the NL West, four games behind the fourth-place Padres.

Span's single with two outs in the sixth gave the Giants a 4-3 lead and chased Clayton Richard (5-9). One batter earlier, pinch-hitter Miguel Gomez tied it with a sacrifice fly.

Posey homered to straightaway center field in the seventh, his 11th overall and first since June 22. The star catcher entered in a 2-for-19 slump before hitting an RBI single in the first.

Cory Gearrin (3-2) pitched one inning for the win. Sam Dyson gave up an RBI single to Jose Pirela and loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth before retiring Jabari Blash for his fourth save.

Gorkys Hernandez had a career-high four hits for the Giants and scored once.

      • Saturday’s six-pack

        — Braves 4, Arizona 3— Ender Inciarte made a great catch to keep tying run off base leading off 9th inning- he also scored two runs.

        — Warriors 109, Clippers 100— Oregon’s Dylan Ennis scored 35 points.

        — Michael Pineda has a torn UCL, might need Tommy John surgery.

        — Red Sox DFA’d Pablo Sandoval; they still owe him around $50M thru 2020.

        — By way of comparison, the A’s have only $25.5M of salary on the books for 2018-20, and thats for the whole team.

        — Rumors are that Ezekiel Elliott might get a domestic violence suspension; Cowboys went from -4.5 to -4 at some sportsbooks Friday for their Week 1 game against the Giants.

        *************************

In a perfect world, where I made all the decisions………

        13) If you’re making a certain amount of money ($20M a year??) in the NBA, then you’re not allowed to take “recovery” or “maintenance” days off. Steph Curry makes $40M a year; James Harden makes almost as much as that. You’re tired? Too bad. Show up and play— people pay a boatload of money to watch you play.

If you’re hurt, thats another thing, but some guys are just taking off one night of back-to-backs when it isn’t that hard to play on consecutive nights- they did it when they were kids.

        12) No radios in NFL players’ helmets; you have six days to prepare for these games. Give the QB a wristband with plays on it and let the players play. Coaches have all week to coach.

        11) Get rid of the Electoral College; the Presidential candidate who gets the most votes wins. I’ve heard arguments by both sides. This one is simple: candidate with the most votes wins. For me, this goes back 15-20 years, it isn’t about last year.

        10) National League and American League would have the same rules where the DH is concerned; I don’t even care if there is/isn’t a DH anymore, just have the same rules in both leagues.

I’d be willing to eliminate the DH, in exchange for 26 or 27-man rosters for each team, with expansion to only 30 players after September 1st.

        9) Every relief pitcher would have to face 2+ batters in a game, not one, unless the one batter is the last out of an inning. This would quicken the game, eliminating the L-R-L pitching changes that slow the game down to a halt.

        8) I’d lower the drinking age to 18; if you’re old enough to go to war, then you’re old enough to have a beer.

        7) No more visits to the pitchers’ mound by coaches/managers. None. Ever. Again, let the players figure it out on their own.

        6) Could we put an NHL team in Quebec City, and one is Saskatoon? I hear they like hockey there. Having teams in Raleigh, Brooklyn and Arizona just doesn’t seem smart.

        5) The NFL would eliminate Thursday Night Football, except for the Week 1 game and the Thanksgiving games.

        4) Would shorten NFL preseason to two games; would also allow teams to do more in the offseason, as far as actually practicing football. An 18-game regular season with the Super Bowl on Presidents’ Day weekend would be good.

        3) In ’n Out Burger would have one, preferably two places in the Albany, NY area. Please????

        2) NCAA basketball tournament would go back to 64 teams.

        1) People would be more respectful of each other’s opinions, and of each other. Everyone hates everybody these days— take a deep breath and tolerate other people. it isn’t that hard to do.

        • MLB notebook: Yankees' Pineda facing Tommy John surgery
          July 14, 2017

New York Yankees right-hander Michael Pineda needs Tommy John surgery for a torn ulnar collateral ligament, the team announced Friday.

Pineda, 28, plans to get a second opinion before opting to have the season-ending procedure, but Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said the team has recommended surgery.

Pineda's last start was on July 5 when he gave up nine hits and five runs in just three innings against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Pineda is 8-4 with a 4.39 ERA and 92 strikeouts over 96 1/3 innings in 17 starts this season. He was 6-2 with a 3.32 ERA in the first two months of the season.

--The Boston Red Sox designated third baseman Pablo Sandoval for assignment.

Sandoval, 30, was returned from his injury rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket and activated from the 10-day disabled list before being designated for assignment. He was placed on the 10-day disabled list on June 20 with a left inner ear infection.

President of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski made the announcement prior to Friday night's home game against the New York Yankees.

Sandoval is still owed $18.6 million in each of the next two seasons, a $5 million buyout and the rest of his $17 million for 2017.

--Oakland Athletics right-hander Andrew Triggs underwent surgery on his left hip, the team announced.

The season-ending surgery was performed Thursday in Vail, Colo., by Dr. Marc Philippon, who repaired the injured labrum in Triggs' hip.

Triggs got off to a superb start this season -- he was 5-2 with a 2.12 ERA over his first eight starts -- before struggling while fighting through the injury.

Triggs had a 9.64 ERA while losing four consecutive starts before being placed on the disabled list on June 10.

--The upper third of Comerica Park's outfield grass looks like exactly what it is: two different types of grass.

The Detroit Tigers' home field hosted a Metallica concert Wednesday night in the middle of three straight rainy days. Taking down the stage played havoc with the grass, so much so it had to be replaced.

"It's not pretty, there's no question about that," Detroit manager Brad Ausmus said prior to Friday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. "Because the grass, the sod they got doesn't match up. The sod they normally get comes from Wisconsin. Couldn't get it here quick enough.

"They laid it down, they rolled it out, they cut it. It looks worse than it is. I think it was Mother Nature and Metallica combined."

--The Washington Nationals placed right-hander Joe Ross on the 10-day disabled list with a sprained elbow.

The Nationals also added depth to their bullpen by calling up right-handed relievers Austin Adams and Trevor Gott from Triple-A Syracuse. Left-hander Sammy Solis was optioned to the Triple-A club.

Ross owns a 5-3 mark with a 5.01 ERA in 13 starts. The 24-year-old posted a 2-1 record with a 2.36 ERA in four outings prior to sustaining the injury.

Adams, who was acquired from the Los Angeles Angels in an offseason deal, would make his major league debut should he appear with the team. The 26-year-old owns a 4-1 mark with three saves and a 2.50 ERA in 28 games with Syracuse.

Gott, 24, posted a 2-0 mark with a 3.34 ERA in 28 games with Syracuse this season.

Solis, 28, surrendered eight runs in four contests since being reinstated on July 1 after missing 65 games with a sore elbow.

          • LEADING OFF: Bumgarner back from crash, All-Stars aplenty
            July 15, 2017

A look at what's happening all around the majors today:

            BUM IS BACK

Giants ace Madison Bumgarner returns to the mound for the first time since a dirt bike accident led to a sprained AC joint in his pitching shoulder and bruised ribs. The left-hander made four starts, going 0-3 with a 3.00 ERA, before crashing his bike during a day off in Colorado. He'll face the Padres and right-hander Jhoulys Chacin (8-7, 4.32) in San Diego.

            STAR QUALITY

On the second day back from the All-Star break, eight starting pitchers selected for the Midsummer Classic get their initial assignments of the second half. Among them are American League starter Chris Sale, who pitches for Boston against fellow All-Star Luis Severino and the Yankees, and National League counterpart Max Scherzer, who starts for Washington vs. Cincinnati. Other All-Stars on the mound are Michael Fulmer (Tigers), Ervin Santana (Twins), Jason Vargas (Royals), Corey Kluber (Indians) and Alex Wood (Dodgers).

            TIME TO SHOP?

The Yankees are approaching the non-waiver trade deadline with holes opening faster than they can fill them. Starter Michael Pineda is mulling over what would be season-ending surgery for a partial ligament tear in his pitching elbow, and first baseman Greg Bird may require surgery for a right ankle issue. One of the top starting pitchers on the trade market, Jose Quintana, has already been moved from the White Sox to the Cubs, but hurlers like Sonny Gray or Gerrit Cole may still be available. New York did pick up minor league slugger Garrett Cooper from the Brewers on Thursday and started him at first base Friday for his big league debut, but they may still pursue a more proven option at first.

            LOOKING FOR WORK

Anyone need a third baseman? Kung Fu Panda is available. Boston designated Pablo Sandoval for assignment on Friday, cutting its losses on the $95 million free agent who was never productive or healthy enough to replicate the popularity - or World Series success - he had in San Francisco. The Red Sox have seven days to trade or release the 30-year-old Sandoval, just activated from the disabled list after recovering from an inner ear infection. A two-time All-Star, Sandoval was the MVP of the 2012 World Series with the Giants. But left shoulder surgery sidelined him for almost the entire 2016 season, and he managed only 14 homers in 161 games over 2 1/2 seasons with Boston.

                      • Saturday's Diamond Notes
                        July 15, 2017

Hottest team: Dodgers (7-0 past seven games, 26-4 past 30 overall)

The Dodgers picked up right where they left off, winning 6-4 in Miami to open the second half. That's seven victories in a row for Los Angeles, and now they'll run All-Star Alex Wood to the mound with his 10-0 record in tow. The Dodgers have won 10 of the past 11 starts by Wood, although they're just 4-10 over his past 14 outings on the road. They're also a dismal 2-6 in his past eight outings on the road against teams with a losing overall mark. However, they're 6-0 in his past six overall against teams with a losing record while the Dodgers are an impressive 29-10 across their past 39 against National League East foes.

Coldest team: Diamondbacks (1-6 past seven games, 3-9 past 12 overall)

While the Dodgers continue to roll in the National League West, their closest pursuers continue to struggle. The Colorado Rockies were annihilated 14-2 in New York by the Mets on Friday, while the Diamondbacks were nipped in Atlanta by a 4-3score. That's three losses in a row for the Snakes, and they have scored a total of just four runs during the span. In fact, the offense is averaging a dismal 2.4 runs per game over their past seven outings. While that's tremendous news for 'under' bettors, the once close NL West is being blown wide open by L.A. The Dodgers now hold an 8 1/2-game lead over the D-Backs, and 10 1/2 over the Rockies.

Hottest pitcher: Max Scherzer, Nationals (10-5, 2.10 ERA)

Scherzer, the major league leader in ERA, will make his first start of the second half. He has been nearly unhittable with a .163 opponent batting average and 0.78 WHIP, also league-leading marks. While some might not be wowwed by his 10-5 record, it's mostly due to a lack of run support earlier in the season. He has rolled up 173 strikeouts over 128 1/3 innings to lead the National League. He'll be on the road in Cincinnati on Saturday, and that's even worse for the opposition. He is 3-3 with a 2.96 ERA overeight starts at home, while going 7-2 with a 1.47 ERA across 10 road outings with both of his complete games coming away from home. The opposition is hitting just .140 against him away from home across 73 2/3 innings with 98 strikeouts.

Coldest pitcher: Patrick Corbin, Diamondbacks (6-9, 4.71 ERA)

Like the rest of his teammates, Corbin has struggled lately. He has posted a respectable 5-3 record with a 3.15 ERA in 11 starts at home, but he has been brutal on the road. The southpaw is 1-6 with a 7.57 ERA over seven road starts with the opposition hitting a robust .331 against him. Homers have been a big issue, too, as he has yielded just six homers across 65 2/3 innings at Chase Field while serving up 10 bombs in just 35 2/3 road frames. Perhaps he snaps out of it against the Braves. While he hasn't faced Atlanta this season, he is 2-0 with 15 2/3 scoreless innings against the Braves across two starts and a relief appearance since the start of the 2014 season.

Biggest UNDER run: Diamondbacks (7-1-1 past nine overall)

The Diamondbacks have had a power outage lately, and those struggles on offense have been putting money in the pockets of total bettors. The under is 7-1-1 over Arizona's past nine overall, including 5-1-1 in their past seven against National League East foes. The under is also 36-17-1 over their past 54 road outings, including 3-1-1 in their past five on the road against teams with a losing record. However, the over is 9-3 over Corbin's past 12 starts on the road, and 10-3-1 in his past 14 assignments against NL East foes. The over is also 18-3-1 in Corbin's past 22 road outings against teams with a losing overall mark.

Biggest OVER run: Astros (9-0-1 past 10 overall)

Like the Dodgers, the American League's best team also didn't skip a beat despite the four-day All-Star break. The Astros mashed the Twins by a 10-5 count for another 'over' result. The over is a perfect 4-0 in Houston's past four at Minute Maid Park, 6-1-3 in their past 10 against AL Central clubs and 18-5-4 across their past 27 games following a victory. The over has also been a frequent happening with Joe Musgrove on the hill, going 5-2 over his past seven, including 5-1 over his past six against teams with a winning overall mark.

Matchup to watch: Athletics vs. Indians

The Indians stumbled out of the gate in the second half, getting bounced by the Athletics 5-0 in Friday's series opener. Cleveland is hopeful All-Star Corey Kluber will continue to stay hot, pitching them back into the win column. The Indians are 8-3 across Klubot's past 11 road outings, 23-9 over his past 32 overall and 11-2 in his past 13 assignments agaisnt teams with a losing record. In addition, the Indians are 4-0 in Kluber's past four assignments against AL West foes. The Indians have dropped five of their past six at O.co Coliseum, with the under going 18-7-1 in the past 26 meetings in Oaktown. The under is also 3-0-1 in Kluber's past four against the A's.

Betcha didn’t know: JC Ramirez entered the 2017 season with zero career starts in the majors, but he has excelled in the role for the Halos and is actually the team leader with eight victories. He allowed two hits across six scoreless frames last time out against the Rangers, and he turned back the Rays in St. Petersburg on May 22 in his last starts against Tampa Bay. He gave up just two runs and six hits over 6 2/3 innings in that outing. Ramirez has struggled at home, however, going just 1-4 with a 5.44 ERA over nine appearances (eight starts) with 10 homers allowed. He is 7-3 with a 3.60 ERA across 11 appearances (nine starts) on the road.

Biggest public favorite: RedSox (-175) vs. Yankees

Biggest public underdog: Rangers (+125) at Royals

Biggest line move: Reds (+185 to +160) vs. Nationals

                          • Pitching at premium before trade deadline; Who might move?
                            July 15, 2017

Teams always seek more pitching before the trade deadline.

Whether its aces, closers, back-of-the rotation starters or middle relievers, new arms are welcome in every clubhouse.

Of the 10 teams sitting in postseason spots at the All-Star break, eight clubs are in the top 10 in ERA.

                            Yes, pitching is that important.

The defending World Series champion Chicago Cubs already bolstered their rotation by acquiring 2016 All-Star Jose Quintana from the White Sox on Thursday.

Here are 10 more pitchers who could be changing teams before the July 31 non-waiver deadline:

Gerrit Cole, Pittsburgh Pirates, RHP: Cole has struggled since going 19-8 with a 2.60 ERA in 2015. He's 7-7 with a 4.43 ERA, but he's only 26 and won't be a free agent until 2020. His upside, age and contract could bring the Pirates a hefty return.

                            ---

Jeremy Hellickson, Philadelphia Phillies, RHP: Hellickson is 5-5 with a 4.49 ERA after starting the year 4-0. He's making $17.2 million and will be a free agent after the season so it won't take too much to get him from the rebuilding Phillies.

                            ---

                            Scott Feldman, Cincinnati Reds, RHP:
Feldman is 7-6 with a 3.94 ERA. He's 34 and will be a free agent after the season. Feldman pitched well out of the bullpen for Houston last season so he's a nice fit for a contender that needs a starter who could pitch in relief in a postseason series.

                            ---

Sonny Gray, Oakland A's, RHP: Gray is 10-15 with an ERA approaching five the past two seasons after winning 14 games in 2013 and 2014. But he's been outstanding in his last four starts - 1.33 ERA, 21 strikeouts, 11 hits in 27 innings. The 27-year-old won't be a free agent until 2020, so he's another starter who can find a new home and be part of the rotation for a few years.

                            ---

Edinson Volquez, Miami Marlins, RHP: Volquez is 4-8 with a 4.19 ERA after signing a two-year, $22 million contract. The well-traveled veteran has postseason experience and won a World Series with the Royals two years ago.

                            ---

Pat Neshek, Philadelphia Phillies, RHP: Neshek was one of the best relievers in the first half, posting a 1.27 ERA and earning his second trip to the All-Star Game. He has 36 strikeouts and only five walks in 35 1/3 innings. The 36-year-old will be a free agent after the season. He can pitch the seventh, eighth or ninth innings.

                            ---

Brad Hand, San Diego Padres, LHP:
Hand has a 2.30 ERA in 42 appearances but he's more than a lefty specialist. He pitched a scoreless inning in the All-Star Game and has been one of the most consistent relievers in baseball the last two seasons.

                            ---

Addison Reed, New York Mets, RHP: The big righty has 15 saves, a 2.53 ERA and is versatile. Reed had 101 saves from 2012-14 and can close or pitch in the late innings. He'll be a free agent after the season.

                            ---

Drew Storen, Cincinnati Reds, RHP: Storen has rebounded nicely after a tough season in the American League. He has a 2.72 ERA in 38 appearances and has been a successful closer in the past.

                            ---

David Robertson, Chicago White Sox, RHP: Robertson is the best closer on the market. He has 13 saves this season and 123 saves since 2014. His contract, which has one year at $13 million remaining, might be a deterrent for some teams.

                            • Teams looking to boost lineup have options on trade market
                              July 15, 2017

Teams looking to boost their offense have plenty of options on the trade market.

Need a slugger? The NL East has a few.

Need a catcher? A two-time All-Star could be on the move again.

Veterans, role players, pinch-hitters are all available at the right price before the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.

The American League should have more buyers because no team is worse than 7 1/2 games behind in the wild-card standings.

Expect more National League teams to sell since only five clubs have a winning record.

Here are 11 hitters who could be switching teams before the end of the month:

Jay Bruce, New York Mets, RF:
Bruce is hitting .265 with 23 homers and 59 RBIs and is in the final season of a seven-year, $63 million contract. The Mets acquired Bruce last July and tried to move him in the offseason. The three-time All-Star is a high-priced rental, but he could carry an offense for long stretches when he's hot.

                              ---

Curtis Granderson, New York Mets, OF: Granderson has rebounded following a poor start and has 13 homers and 37 RBIs along with a .232 average. He's also a free agent after the season. Granderson has plenty of postseason experience and is an excellent clubhouse presence.

                              ---

Lucas Duda, New York Mets, 1B: Like Bruce and Granderson, Duda is a free agent after the season and the Mets aren't going anywhere. Duda has 14 homers and 30 RBIs. He's a career .246 hitter.

                              ---

Andrew McCutchen, Pittsburgh Pirates, OF: McCutchen has bounced back nicely after a subpar year and is hitting .295 with 17 homers and 50 RBIs. He's in the final season of a six-year, $51.5 million contract, though the Pirates hold a $14.5 million option for next season. He's only 30 and could anchor the middle of a team's lineup.

                              ---

Tommy Joseph, Philadelphia Phillies, 1B: Joseph has 15 homers and 43 RBIs in 298 at-bats, a year after hitting 21 homers in 315 at-bats. Joseph is only 25, so interested teams could look at him as a first baseman for the future. He's available because the rebuilding Phillies have big-time slugger Rhys Hoskins waiting for an opportunity at Triple-A.

                              ---

Jonathan Lucroy, Texas Rangers, C: Milwaukee tried trading Lucroy twice last July, though he refused a trade to Cleveland before agreeing to move to Texas. His .256 batting average is the lowest since his rookie season in 2010 and he's a free agent after the season, but Texas is right in the mix in the wild-card race.

                              ---

Zack Cozart, Cincinnati Reds, SS: Cozart is having a career year - .311, nine homers, 35 RBIs - and was an All-Star starter, but he'll be 32 next month and becomes a free agent after the season. Most contending teams don't need a shortstop, but things can change quickly.

                              ---

J.D. Martinez, Detroit Tigers, RF: Martinez is a costly rental because he'll be a free agent after the season, but the power hitter could improve any lineup down the stretch. He's batting .298 with 14 homers and 32 RBIs in 5 games.

                              ---

Melky Cabrera, Chicago White Sox, LF:
Cabrera is in the final season of a three-year, $42 million contract. He's hitting .283 with 10 homers and 51 RBIs. The White Sox might have to pay some of Cabrera's salary to make a deal.

                              ---

Daniel Nava, Philadelphia Phillies, OF: Nava has been a pleasant surprise for the Phillies after getting an invitation to spring training as a non-roster player. He's hitting .297 with a .389 OBP in a limited role. Nava won a World Series with Boston in 2013 and the switch-hitter is a valuable bench player.

                              ---

Yonder Alonso, Oakland A's, 1B: Alonso is having a breakout season - .275, career-high 21 homers, 44 RBIs - and was an All-Star. He's also a free agent after the season.
