most of you do not seem to be big sports fans,have you ever considered hanging out in a real political forum or chatroom-i am not a rocket scientist,but it just seems like the political conversations would be a lot more-WELL YOU GUYS KNOW WTF I AM SAYING-DISCUSSING POLITICS IN A FORUM FOR GAMBLING DEGENERATES JUST SCREAMS GOOFY TO ME-just seems like there are a lot better places out there to rant politics ??????????

Was thinking of opening a politics forum just for that purpose.

i don't know about that. chuck, rj, me, wayne, and many others have had SPORTS related disputes in the past much worse and MUCH longer.

Yep, sports debates do get heated, but at the end of them, they're easier to forgive and forget about.

I'm not exactly sure who you are. There's a sarcastic undertone to your response, which means I must have offended you somehow. But, moving on....

There's a difference between an interesting forum, like the UFC Fprum or the Photo Post forum, and a forum that's overtaking the site.

My point being, the forum produces more problems than any other. Suppose your a new guy, looking to join a site for sports betting, you click on this one, and the main page shows:

5 threads with picks with 2-5 responses.
8 Political threads with 10-50 responses.
And a few other scattered threads.

Now, to you, would the site look more focused on Politics? Or Sports?

From the conclusion you draw, wouldn't that be a problem?

The Political forum is great for people like you, and Kaz and the others who enjoy it. But you are not the majority, and the fact is, the majority of people here, who visit here, and who are likely to join here are more interested in Sports than Religion.

And while you say, "just ignore it", that's not as easy as you make it seem.

I applaud your intention to protect the potential site members, but wouldn't they probably browse around and see what the site has to offer, as well as look inside the forums as a guest before joining? (small bit of sarcasm there!) I think it would be difficult to find out how many potential members have been lost.

Lastly, couldn't the "majority" who visit here just click "member picks" if that is what they want or "all sports" if discussing a sports topic?

You're ignoring the fact that when everyone logs on the site, they view a main page with 15 threads ( I believe ), and those are threads everyone sees first.

I don't want to have to move from forum to forum to view things, I like to stay on the main page, I'm sure many others do also, because it's simpler. It's simpler for you because you seem only interested in the political section of the site. While, I am interested in every other part of the site, except the R,P&R. Therefore I don't want to have to move from, All Sports, to Members Picks, to Photos, to Non-Sports, to the Urgent Thread, etc. etc. simply to avoid one forum that seems to be overtaking the site.

The point remains, the focus of the site has moved to politics rather than sports, and on a gambling site, that just doesn't seem it should be the case.

SO how many threads in RPR on the main page is going to satisfy you? So you want it simple "for you", and are only interested in the top 15 threads? I understand your point.

But if the site OWNER, starts 62 threads, don't you think he might know/want more then either of us think? And you are entitled to your opinion about what the site's "focus" now is, but if you stayed in all sports or member picks, you would NEVER see a thread/post. NEVER.

And I will stick to my original premise that if the other threads/rooms had more interest then RPR, then they would be in the top 15 as you want. I would think that since you believe the "majority" want that, then wouldn't the "majority" be posting so much in t hose threads that they would always be in the top 15?

Now why do that? You are going to take away the main page that all current threads get bumped to? For what reason? I will throw it back at you ... Why should we eliminate a complete forum just because a few do not like??? A forum that gets most of the conversation now that it is slow ... Just because there a couple of threads on top of the page??? ...

I don't care if the forum stays or goes but that would be absolutely stupid to eliminate the main page and the heartbeat of this place simply to "Hide" a forum. You have not only all current topics there but you also have birthdays, trends, matchups, mini stats and everything else on that page and it has been here a hell of a lot longer than this forum has. You want to confuse the shit out of people and really fuck up their navigating here, that would do it.
