And I ask because it has been widely and constantly reported that he is the "first", so it is a legitimate question to ask what makes him he "first". I have never heard a report that President Obama is the first "mixed" President. Have you?

If I am 1/22 "African-American", can I apply for financial aid and scholarships as a minority?"It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. In regards to minority owned business money, I am not sure, but I think there are a lot of small business owners on the site that should be able to answer your question. FYI, next time you should just ask the question you asked above from the get go. It felt like I was pulling teeth just to get your question....best of luck.

I'm just using common sense, but I would imagine that anyone that is 50% of any race they would refer to themselves as whatever they wanted. Also, using common sense, I would guess that whatever the persons dad ethnicity is would determine what race they are (in regards to records)... Anyway, none of this matters, and you keep bringing it up. 33% of your post have to do with Obama's race..Last edited by grandmama; 11-28-2009, 09:14 PM."It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. this was a very good and legitimate question. it shows why there should be absolutely no favoritism given to ANYONE! ALL these programs that benefit any race should be eliminated. but you got all the typical responses from the usual racists, and i am not talking about jordan.“A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."

I'm disappointed that the 2 African-American posters (I assume from reading their posts) either insult or call me racist (my boys down South) because I ask a legitimate question on race. If your replies are indicative of other "black" responses, I can see why race relations are where they are. Sad.
