The DOW is only off 7% for the year and was up 20% last year. We just talked about this in class recently. You can not look at it daily. Last year when it was up did you say my IRA is growing? It is and will grow. Do not look at it under a microscope.

At 120K a year you are doing well. Imagine some people who are head of households who make 45k. My dad makes about what you do and I know it is hurting him now also. But we consider ourselves lucky at the moment. We still have our house and savings. This too shall pass.

          88k is a low figure

It wouldn't be millions either if we hadn't got involved. And I guess we can take the blame since we put sadam in power. Plus we had the chance to take him out in the Persian Gulf War.

As for the Jewish population I just heard the other day that around 50% of them were killed. IMO that should have never happened as numerous Countries should have stepped in a lot sooner.

I am about to say something controversial but only an Archie Bunker type will say that we bombed your country, we disrupted your way of life but you are in a better place. Can't go against that reasoning.... That is just about as bad as Barbara Bush saying that the shelters that the people that was affected by Hurricane Katrina were in a better place that their home that got destroyed....
            Did Barbra Bush say that??

Yes, anyone fighting in a war is changed. Some for the good, but more often for the bad. They see shit that they would have never seen and it can really screw them up. There are a lot of soldiers from this war that have Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. If you go back to older wars I'm sure theres a ton that had/have this problem as well as I'm sure it wasn't diagnosed or even known what it was at the time. I can especially seeing Vietnam vets having this big time.

Most people in this Country don't even make $45k per year. I would say that its around $25-$30k per year.

As for the DOW it should be down a lot more. There is still plenty of Credit problems coming IMO.

Instead of reflecting our love for our country,
w e get photos of flag burning incidents at Abu Ghraib
and people throwing snowballs at the presidential motorcades.

Tragically, the lack of accentuating the positive
                  in Iraq serves two purposes:

It is intended to undermine the world's perception
                  of the United States thus minimizing consequent support;
and it is intended to discourage American citizens.

                  ----
Above facts are verifiable on the Department of Defense web site.

Well that's great news! More reasons that show why we need to get our troops out of there now. Mission accomplished!
