Every Newspaper in America post the lines for games now and even ESPN Posts the NFL Lines and Totals on their NFL Pregame show, they all now it''s about gambling. Of course Peter Gammons doesnt mention gambling but the underlying current is gambling. The NFL is so popular because of gambling and ESPN Capitalizes with a 3 hour Pregame show with lines totals and the Swami's Picks. Maybe Peter Gammons wasnt the best example but it makes the point. OK it's illegal, do you think for one minute that the only people watching ESPN's show are in Vegas? If so they wouldnt be the Giant that they are, take away gambling and see how long the NFL, College Football, NBA and College Hoops keep their ratings. Just my 2 cnets I dont care one way or the other really, in the big picture I think from the posts I've read in this thread everyone in here hates services so why will they be missed?

I'm not a fan of services (unless they're tallied and faded accordingly), but I've been reading this thread and figured I'd throw my 2 cents in...

instead of using "a website" to post service plays, they could be posted on "usenet" instead. Websites have to be registered and therefore have names and addresses behind them and are hosted in the US. Usenet is a world wide public forum of boards and can be posted to anonymously, as well. No one "owns" usenet, and there is no fee for uploading or downloading anything.

If you don't know what usenet groups are, go to Google, then click on Groups and type in "gambling", there are 2 groups out there called alt.gambling and rec.gambling.misc. Either one can be posted to freely and anonymously.

One last point/opinion:
Personally I think whether picks are posted or not from hereon, irreparable damage has already been done to many sports services.
Many told thousands use this site every night and if they are like me , they look at the posted picks of the paid cappers and the great free ones we have here.
Now I personally think that if paid cappers' picks are no longer posted here, there are two likely possibilities as to what will happen:
1) The people who want the paid cappers' picks will be able to readily find them elsewhere in some of the cites mentioned above.
2) They will say to themselves, "What the hell, the free cappers at BC are infinitely better than most of the paid cappers anyways(having compared them for a while) and I will simply use the free cappers picks and forget the paid services."
In any case if the paid cappers think that all of a sudden their business is once again going to boom if their picks are not posted at BC, they arer sadly mistaken;the horse has left the barn, and the truth is known! Its "Dinosaur City" for most of the paid services no matter what they do to try to reverse the trend.

No i dont but thats all it can be. Even if the pay sites did threaten to sue him he could be represented free of charge. People have already offered to do it. Or if he wanted to I'm sure he could talk to a lawyer for free to discuss the suit. I have a good friend who's a lawyer and I could easily put her in contact with Monte if he wanted too.

Trust me guys, it will all blow over in time. I worked hand in hand with consensus and service sites and the threats come as well as attempted suits. Its all about how far you want to fight it cause you will win in the long run. In the meantime we have to keep supporting this place and help all we can cause it is a gold mine.

Once again do not get comfortable at these places because we owe our heart to this place but I just do not want anyone missing out in the meantime.
Anything I can do guys please let me know.

Also keep in mind, I am not exactly sure what services or etc may be really the culprit of all the pressure but there are numerous ones out there and some posted here that are breaking several laws themselves. If you can get the free representation as stated above, then I would do it cause a service is promoting and what they are promoting---
Well I will leave it at that. But an idea just popped up that was posted earlier. Newsgroup would be an awesome alternative. Several of the LEGITIMATE Syndicate Groups use newsgroups to do the passing on of their info.

a newsgroup would be an excellent idea. Just let the members know the exact group or post a link and let it be.
