How come Wayne Root and others failed in their attempts if this binding contract stuff means anything.?
I will stick by my guns and sayd that you cannot successfully anyone when the activity (gambling) is illegal to begin with, especially if ONLY the names of the teams are given out and not the writeups.
Please somebody show/prove to me where in THIS country a sports service has successfully sued someone over simply giving out the names of sports teams.

we;ll open a yahoo email addy and give it out and all the plays will be posted there..

plus there 3 big and excellent sites where the plays will be ..and plus many more sites...

rip ill help out anyway i can this fall. i do get a consensus report, but its not the greatest. so loved the service area to confirm plays and fades. lets keep in touch and see what we can come up with

If services don't want their plays out there then I strongly suggest they go to the consensus sites as that's where 99% of the plays come from!

Because the consensus sites are not allowing the plays to be posted on this site. Monte is allowing it.

I respectfully disagree,and if the sports services had a valid case, some forum would have already been sued successfully long before now!
Giving out the names of teams only cannot be "patented" and I defy anyone to show me proof that I am wrong especially when the activity is ILLEGAL to begin with. The history of the failed attempts to sue in this area speaks volumes.

all thsi suing bullshit is rdiculous....if it is really about that its very simple to change the name of the service before you post it or add a few letter or anythign and you wont be riding any capers picks or any of that shit.. Big Al could be made Big ALF and they cant do shit...is not too complicated ..i majored in law

DUH, but when 99% of the plays come from Consensus sites who make their money by re-selling the plays if they get cut off then no more service plays on here....DUH

BC-In return I say show me a case where a sports service has won a case over a forum's giving out its picks/name of a team with no writeups at all.
Northcoast requested if I recall that the writeups of the games from Powersweep not be given out(to me that is the only possibility of infringement) but didn't say picks could not be given out(probably because their own lawyers said you couldn't do anything in the latter case);as I say giving out the names of teams is NOT in the same category as someone stealing a patent on a new medicine!!!!
Monte-I can understand the orher reasons for shutting it down, and I respect them.

Savage, i'm not arguing with you about the Root case. I'm merely stating find me the Case Ruling on it.
