  • Monte, I am not a lawyer, and to tell you the truth if your lawyer has said to shut it down, then listen to him;I am just offering an opinion-obviously your lawyer knows what is best for you all things considered.
I still think if possibility of a sports service to sue anyone successfully, had any merits, it would have happened by now.

    • Anybody that believes some sports service could sue you for posting theres plays on an internet web site, really aint to bright. A opinion of whos gonna win a game is not copyrighted material, like an article would be. Like others have said if this could have been done it would have been done along time ago to 100's of sites on the web who post plays. Also on top of that what about all the consensus services who are actually taking the plays and re-selling them for money, the services would want to sue those people first and put them out of business.
This in my opinion is a pure case of somebody here probably being offered some money to not let service plays be posted here, cause it certainly cant be about being sued by a bunch of hustlers who give out plays for money. If anybody didnt want to open up their books to the court system, it would most certainly be the services who would be afraid to show what they do, not a website owner.
So guys put 2 and 2 together and you will figure out the real reason theres going to be no more service plays.

      • I've only been using this site for the past year or so. But I love it, great stuff to be found.
I would definitely be interested in joining and email list or user group.

Hope we can all work out something!

          • I don't want to open up another case of worms, but if someone were sued successfully over this, which in essence would give credibility/legitimacy to gambling and sports services, then the next logical step would be for a bettor to sue both a sportsbook and an alleged sports services which advertises for them-its called collusion folks and by my way of thinking, one could at least question the integrity of the picks given out by the sports service because of possible kickbacks from the offshore when bettors lose and possibly an actually better return for the sportservice then they would get if their picks won!
Personally I don't think the courts want any part of this;there are more important things in the world for the courts to worry about then sports picks and whether it is ok for someone to give them out or not.

Did any of you maybe think that Monte is tired of all the deadbeats that go on this site and just hang out in the service section and don't contribute to anything else. Get a clue........

                And do I know you??
No, I'm sure you do not know me and don't talk to me as though I'm stupid. The point I was respectfully trying to make is this. If the touts bring suit against BC, the consensus services will have nothing to do with this. BC is the party diseminating the information. Yes they can go after the consensus too, but that is irrelevant to my point. None of that changes the fact that what BC is doing is not going to hold up in court.

I agree with all of your reasoning for closing the thread. I am certain that participation will now increase in all of the other threads here. Most likely all the people who continuosly hit the refresh button will now start particpating in the other threads.
Fades will continue and your site will prosper. It was fun while it lasted. I don't think anyone will suffer from this. There are many successful cappers here.

You must not have been here during football season because you could not even get on here around game time because of all the people that just like to piss away there money by looking at the service picks. I am sure monte cares about hits but he also wants members that contribute to the forum not ones that are just here to hit refresh every 2 seconds to see the service thread.

                        • Hey Chuck,
If thats the case in what you say, then Monte should have just came out and said that, instead of using some bull that hes gonna get sued for letting people post somebodys opinion of whose gonna win a game, which no court in our country would side with.

Sitting here thinking about this even more makes me laugh harder to believe some bozo like wayne root could sue you for telling others what team he likes to win a game, is pure comical and its clear alot of you have no clue about how strong free speech is in our country. Just remember when you say something like "i heard wayne root likes the yankees tonight, your not passing on copyrighted material, like if he were to write up a big article about it, which would indeed have to be registered as copyrighted material, all your basically doing is passing on hearsay gossip, which isnt copyrighted. The courts would laugh this case out of the system so fast. This would mean everytime somebody has a opinion about something in this country, it automatically becomes copyrighted material and they could sue another person for talking about it, lmfaooooooooooooooo.
Wake up people, you live in america not china.
Well at least the internet is good for a good laugh once in awhile and thats what this subject has done for me.

no court in our country would even hear this case, its comical. If this was true everybody that had a opinion about something could sue others if they heard their opinion being talked about. It would mean every word that comes out of a persons mouth becomes copyrighted material, lmfaooooooooooooooooooooo.
I feel real sorry for anybody thats believes any of this to be true and instead of gambling every night, you should spend some time getting educated about our great country and the laws we have.

One last statement and I'm done wasting time with this. I can't believe I've wasted this much on it already. The touts have a very, very valid argument and the forums wouln't stand a chance. just ask Monte what his attorney says about this sisue.
