I still can't believe the RedSox wouldn't give up the little speedy white guy Ellsbury to make this trade happen, just because Ben Aflack has a green jersey with his name on the back. We're talking about Johan Santana the best pitcher in baseball, what the hell is Ellsbury gonna do, go first to third on a base hit, big deal?

I really doubt the twins accept that offer..... If Ellsbury has to be in that trade

    Lester, Ellsbury,Lowrie, Masterson

They will still have a rotation of

    Santana
    Beckett
    Dice K
    Shilling
    Buchholz

    Thats fucking strong!!

I dont think Santana is the pitcher he used to be. His record last year was 15-13 only 2 games over .500. He gave up 33 homeruns which I believe led the league. Most major leaguers are just sitting on his change up.

i dont want ellsbury to be traded. sox have enough pitching already. if they can get the deal done without ellsbury u have to do it.

I disagree, he was dominating again last year. Basically the same amount of innings pitched and strikeouts, just gave up a few more runs. He got little run support. His last 4 years were ridiculous and he's only 28. I realize he's no Jake Ellsbury, who has potential to steal 30 bases, but he's pretty damn good.

219 innings and 235 strikeouts with a 3.33 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in the American League, is declining. Who's on the upswing? He was better than Sabathia and Beckett in almost every category except wins, and the Twins were shitty offensively
