*FYI: ...COMP PLAY 4 "BIG MONDAY"
-Ok Gang...I am coming off of recording my 7th Straight Winning Week in MLB so far on the year..missed winning my 7th straight Weekend due to a rare "BGP" lost....But, just like before, when I win big..I also like to spread and share the wealth big...so here's one of them for you all to Enjoy!
**TOP RATED PLAY OF THE DAY ON:
CWS -130
-Two of the top teams in the AL face off tonight...but I see the CWS coming out of this one in style again like they have been doing all year to the best of them...Currently, the CWS has won 4 of their last 5 games...And it has been with offense and defense this time around...In this span, they have outscored their opponents 22 to 10....Solid!
The Angels, on the other hand, is coming into this one winning 3 of their last 5 games...however, they haven't been as dominant as they scored 21 runs but have also given up 21 runs, in this span as well.
The CWS has a Road record of 16-7 and are still averaging 5 rpg, while currently hitting .255 at the plate....Their defense on the Road, led by their studs on the hill, have only been giving up an average of 3.5 rpg and allowing .232 hitting at the plate...The Angels, meanwhile are just 10-9 at Home this year, where they have been only averaging 3.6 rpg and .234 hitting at the plate, as well as just .280 OBP average...This is not good at all, especially when your defense is allowing opponents to average 4.2 rpg in your House.
One of the Key Advantages I like in this matchup tonight is on the mound...Tonight the CWS send their 8-0 Hot starter in John Garland to the hill to become the first 9-0 winner on the year...And although Garland and the WSox's have not been having as much success vs these Angels in the past...you can't deny that they will have a definate edge here for two reasons...One being that they are coming in on a roll and playing solid balance ball....And second, because today they are going up against the Angel's Rookie RHP Santana, who will be making only his 2nd start of his career, and doing it off of a Bitch slapping by one of the leagues coldest sticks, at the time, in the Indian's...In his first start vs Clev, this Rookie was tagged for 6 ERs, 8 hits, gave up 2 HRs, 3 walks, 1 strike out, and only lasted 4 innings...leading to a 13-5 embarrassing home loss for the Angels.
Now today he will have to step up against this Hot WSox team, a team who is riding high in the league this year...A team who is not only doing it with clutch and timely hitting, but also doing on base as well...Yup, this is not going to be any cake walk at all for this Rookie...and if he thought Clev was hard to beat, well he is in for another treat..because unlike the Indian's....today he will have to not only contend with whose at the plate but also with whose on base also...The CWS are the best at stealing bases this year...and they do their best work against RHP's, where they have stolen 37 of their league leading 50 SB's this year....Oh Boy, you talk about having to deal with multiple threats for this Rookie to have to deal with...Not Good!
Besides the threat by the WSox's base runners moving into scoring position, I am sure Santana also knows that the CWS has found the most success as well in winning against RHPs..with their current 27-8 record vs them so far....And, I am very sure that he knows who his opponent on the mound is in Garland...who can go deep into a game, with his 7.5 innings average overall in his 8 starts this year...Oh and also that he has a 8-0 record to go along with his low 2.41 ERA and his very low .955 WHIP...Plus Garland has won 10 straight starts dating to last season...and allowed just 2 runs and 5 hits over 7 innings in a 5-2 win over Texas last Tuesday...So this rookie is not in the best of situations at all, and it again is not only because he must recover from his last Bitch slapping...but because he must also do it against one of the leagues best pitchers and best team as well...Oh yeah, I forgot this one...he must also do it in front of the Angel's faithful, who is still wondering how they made this guy their top overall pick on the year....Simply not a good time to have the same name as the other Stud named Santana, as fans are expecting the same results!
The Angels are currently ranked 4th to last in the league in hitting with a .246 average....5th to last with just 35 total HRs, as compared to the CWS ranking 5th in the league with 50 Bombs so far...The CWS also rank 8th in the league in RBI's, while the Angels are ranked 4th to last in the league in this category...A very important stat due to both teams liking to play alot of small ball...which wont work if your hitters at the plate cant take advantage of whats done on base...Furthermore, the Angels also rank last in the league in OBP with their .298 average and are 2nd to last in SLG % as well...Not looking to good in way of support for their Rookie, especially as the Angels also lost their best hitter and reigning AL MVP Vladimir Guerroro, who was placed on the disabled list by the Angels on Saturday with a partial dislocation of his left shoulder....Big lost as Guerrero batted .306 with 10 RBIs in nine games against Chicago in 2004...not to forget also these other Angels hitters in Finley, Iztirus, and of course their DH in Salmon, who all also will be missing out on this big game.
*SOME PAST STATS & TRENDS: Favoring the the CWS tonight.
-CWS is 16-7 on the Road.
-CWS is 4-1 as a Road Fav of -125 to -150.
-CWS is 17-8 in Night games.
-CWS is 27-8 vs RHPs.
-CWS is 12-3 vs teams with winning records.
-CWS is 7-1 in away GM 1 of series.
-CWS is 18-4 vs the AL Central opponents.
-Angels is 4-3 when playing against teams with a winning record.
-Angels is just 10-9 at Home.
-Angels is 18-12 vs RHPs.
Bottom line is the same as I mentioned before...These are the new WSox's who are not doing it like the old WSox use to do it...Their new style of ball is working wonders so far, why buck it...Pitching, Defense, aggressive base running, small ball, and playing with a chip on their shoulder due to lack of respect, is what makes them go...And tonight, they will continue to roll fueled by their best starter...who knows this is the one team who could derail his chances of getting win number 9...Garland wants this one bad and so do the WSox's as the Angels have been a thorn in their sides lately...And with Vlad out and a Rookie on the hill, they must be licking their chops at what they see...I love the CWS to get this one done in fashion tonight.... Go White Sox's!
