Frank-I respect your opinion but I am afraid we are 180 degrees apart.
Yeah I know this started about Rush and ended up with Bush.
I realize that not everything is black or white.
However, I have to disagree with your pooh-poohing about world opinion for example.
What the rest of the world says/feels is important and if nothing else shows that it has a different perspective on things.
For example, and getting back to Rush, he can say that people deserve to be free, and that is reason enough to go into Iraq even if there were/are no weapons of mass destruction.
A lot of people in this country(me included) and other countries would argue otherwise and say we have no right to "free" another nation;it is none of our business;in time it will happen on its own and when the country is "ready" for it.
Even if one accepts the premise that we should have gone to Iraq, then one can only judge by results, and the latter speak for themselves-a disaster in terms of many deaths(needless by my thinking) and financially and most importantly in terms of the time frame which was thought to be needed(noteven close);thus the administration's ineptness in terms of ITS OWN GOALS is reason enough for anyone to view this presidency as a failed one in this regard.
ps compare the importance of Libby's lying under oath re: the CIA agent with that of Clinton's lying about Monica-yeah right!
Endangering national security against a harmless blow job.lol
ps I wouldn't trust Cheney to give me the time of day!
I've voted for every elected president since Nixon. So I can be blamed as well for all the failures everyone thinks our administraions have made. I think Rush and Maher are both intelligent ass's. Yet I enjoy watching both as sooner or later they piss me off or make me stand and say "oh yeah".
Now back to making money so I can pay all my taxes!
Savage, talk about politicians that have their own agenda. Were any worse than the Kennedy's?
For my money the agendas of some presidents have far more reaching and devastating consequences than others;I would put Bush's agenda in the first category.
Politics and religion are topics to steer far far away from. IMO, They always lead to heated arguments. Im a registered republican and i dont much like rush, a little to arrogant.

True, but thankfully/hopefully we can rationally discuss our opinions and most important FREELY without being thrown in jail or worse!
Answers-yes to Afghanistan.
Before we went to war, I was suspicious but gave Bush the benefit of the doubt especially since some people I voted for were also in favor of it.
HOWEVER, in retrospect, had I known everything I know now and had for my money President stated and disclosed EVERYTHING he knew, I would have said no.
Consider the fact that they had chances to capture Osama, the chief culprit in Afghanistan and let the real rat get away (Not Saddam Hussein!).
For whatever it was a terrible mistake(actually I don't consider it a mistake by Bush's standards as he was out to get Saddam from day 1 of his presidency;perhaps the wrong focus of emphasis is the way I would term it).
I can remember when Clinton sent to cruise miisle into Afganistan to get Bib Laden and missed him by 3 minutes. Good old Rush derided the thing as pure polotical gamemanship trying to divert attention from Lewinsky. Funny since 911 he just has never had the time to apologise for that mistake on his part. If Clinton had succeeded then 911 would never have happened.
Like far too many people Rush is all black or white ( or red and blue) and cannot seem to realise that most people and other things in life have a lot of grey areas. If he could get back to reality then he would have far more respect

Clinton had many opportunities to take out Bin Laden.
One thing I would add: I realize that some of you don't care for views of Bill Maher.
That being said, the last 15 minutes of his weekly shows (Real Time with Bill Maher)entitled New Rules is hilarious and always has all of his guests(even conservatives) and his audience in stitches;it is funny and I give it my highest recommendation.
