Gas prices may stay at peak longer than thought

what alternative fuels? give me some? vegatable oil? corn? ethanol? electric cars? do you know how much it costs for electric heat in a home? now imagine running a V6 engine car on electricity. your costs would be outragous. even if you did dont you think over time the price to produce massive amounts of the above items will make the price just as high if not higher than oil.

also do you know who makes the most $$$$ off gasoline??? the U.S. govt thats who. As well as state and local govt. they tax the shit outta gasoline. 50% of the price is taxes of some kind.

Along with all the above mentioned there is also. Hydrogen, solar, wind, and ocean. Geothermal, and biomass as well. And that would fix a lot of our electric problems.

And that is why we are slow to move forward on these policies. They are making money hand over fist off of us. Some people just look at it as "Well, that's just the way it is".

I'm tired of that attitude. We CAN DO BETTER and the good thing about it is that it would be good for everyone IMO, but there is too much money going around and there is not a big push from the American people on this issue right now. Everyone needs too get on board with this. It's all about immigration now. Which I'm about to T off on! Good talking with you Dimmer.

The Union of Concerned Scientists tells us that dropping from 70 to 60 mph improves fuel efficiency by an average of 17.2 percent. Dropping from 75 to 55 improves fuel efficiency by 30.6 percent!(3)

Put another way, in a family sedan, every 10 mph you drive over 60 is like paying 54 cents per gallon more for gas you bought at $3.25 a gallon. (4) That extra cost is even higher for big SUVs and other less-efficient vehicles.

And the time you save by going easy on the accelerator may not add up to as much as you thought. On a 300-mile trip, driving 65 instead of 70 mph would cost you only 20 minutes -- but save money and spew less carbon.

i drive into newjersey to gas up its 45 cents a gallon cheaper, plus theres a station there that does oil change adn tire rotation for 20 bucks, and if i schlep the family i only pay 2 bucks for the toll as opposed to 8. and if i shop out there when i go i pay 6% tax instead of 8. and since theres a wallmart there but not in ny, i get certain things cheaper, plus its a day out. i have a 4 cylinder, i can fill it every 2 weeks for the distance i travel, so this is my new game plan.
