How many here at the forum either married or not, doesn't really matter, have a Girlfriend/Wife that know what we do, and loves it...........or has NO idea what's up, or is just a flat out BITCH about it, hates gambling, wants you to stop and so on.....

Have a girlfriend that hates what I do and it's never going to change.
For guys that have undrstanding wives/girlfriends.......you guys don't know how GOOD you have it.......and for the ones that that have wives/G.F. that love to gamble with you...........

Married to my wife for 6 years in May. She knows about it and as long as I don't lose our money for paying bills and the like and as long as it doesn't overtake our lives and make us change plans, is fine with it.

My ex-wife wasn't as understanding, hence the "ex" part.

but as long as i am winning its the greatest thing in the world.They just dont realize you have good and bad days.If i go 7-3 the bitch is happy.Then 3-4 the next day i am back to the couch.lol.Dont they know we feel shitty enough about losing our posted plays anyway.but my other girlfriend is cool with it.

i dont know what catagory im in
i have a gf and been seeing each other for almost 4 yrs but we live bout 90 miles apart and right now she is doing her internship to become a dr and is a full time licensed pharmacist so for about the last year and half she has been putting in about 120 hrs a week and when i am not working on my job she knows im on here doing my sports and that is about all i do except when i go see my rest bros and sisters and mother and they are about 100 miles the other direction and so when we see each other me and my gf well she comes first and i leave this behind and she will be headed to taiyland ina coupel of weeks for about 2 months so other than worrying my ass off about her while she is there i will be here and trying to get my apt straightened up.
but she doesnt have a problem with it at all she knows i do my sports but she also knows that she is my priorty and when the time comes she knows i will be on here alot less than i am now.

I’m 58 and been gambling for over 40 years now…. Been married for 34 years and my wife knows every bet I make. In the early days when I didn’t really care about money management, betting $5,000 or more on a game (and lose) was always a wild ride for her but I never hide it from her. She knew what she was getting into before we got married. She also knew I wasn’t going to change either. So she just hung in they’re with me and I gotta tell ya, my betting life has been all over the place, including losing a house, bankruptcy etc. In spite of all this, were still together and it cost me a lot of money to finally learn how to gamble. Now we have a house twice the size I lost, always cash in our pockets and no bills to speak of. And when I’m out of town, I’ll have her either call in my bets to a local or and now she’s learned how to put them in online and can find the better lines when I’m not around. Now saying all this about her, one thing I didn’t mention is ..She doesn’t gamble one cent on anything and is one of those coupon users and always buys things on sale…Me? I can’t buy anything on sale and never used a coupon in my life…talk about opposites.
Guess what made it work for me was
1) A VERY understanding wife (ya gotta have one of those or forget it)
2) Never tried to hide the fact that I’m a degenerate gambler
3) She knows when I win as I always give her 10% of what I win
4) She always knows when I lose too, but I NEVER bitch or take it out on her..and she also know to sat clear too…
5) After 34 yrs of marriage…I guess I got a keeper here…lol

This is no BullShit either…She always said she would like to write a book about our life together but, nobody would believe it…. As I’ve been involved in some very hairy shit over the years too..

Good Luck my friend, all you can do is be honest, upfront and honorable. Something like a gamblers code of ethics I guess

I'd never sneak around with this stuff ... not good for the old self - esteem. If we're in love with someone we can ruin it with a lie .

I love gambling movies, books, hell TILT's becoming a show I regularly watch now........can't get enough!
As I can see many of you are very lucky, I wish I had that same situation and maybe I will someday?????

CoverBoy- totally agree, you can't hide it....Tried that in the beginning and was miserable.....
Now things are in the open, but she still hates it. It's to the point now at least she doesn't nag or really talk about TOO much about it. I can see if you lose money, which I think pretty much all of us did in the beginning(poor money mangement) but even now that I am making good money, she still hates and doesn't want to hear about how much I won or anything like that.......such a buzz kill.

RJ- if you see this, I hope you reply even though I think I already know the answer! In fact, I would have a HUGE play on it!

i am very lucky as my gf is a hard worker and a brain over 180 on iq test but also is a knock out that so far i havent seen an avatar that has anything on my gf yet on here, so yes i do feel that i am a very lucky person in alot of ways.

That sure WAS a great movie!!!...god knows I've lived it over and over again....all except that badge of courage thing...the knife slice on the face (in china town, I think it was)...how about the Laker bet going down at the buzzer, I always think of that sceen... Boy, I have not seen that movie in years, now I gotta go out and get it...sure was a realistic one!!!!

My wife excepts it all. The bad ,the good. She knows its a roller coaster ride and she even bets her self. What happened to me many years back you would have thought she would , but my wife stood behind me and took it, and gave me all the support in the world, cause believe me it was ugly. I was playing for way to much at that time. So I am very fortunete, or am I I am 59 and been married to her for 18yrs. Just what ever ya do keep it under control and don't be stupid like I was, cause your family comes 1st, all ways.
