Just wanted to let everyone know where i have been

I recieved an e-mail from a member asking if i was ok or mad so i thought i would tell my story i am in the process of trying to stop drinking.i have drank for a long time but the last 3 months i really went out of control.believe it or not i won more $$$$$ in the last month than i ever have gambling just got to the point where i have to stop.ask vols fan he knows.i went 8 days without drinking and then i gambled on some games thursday night and went back to drinking heavy again.in 15 days i have only drank 1 night but it was when i was gambling.i really need to take a break for a while before i lose my family my job and even my life.it was getting so bad that i was hiding vodka bottles all over the house and only drinking vodka because the smell is not as bad and my girl could not smell it on me.i even bought non alcoholic beer to drink with the vodka so if she smelt it i could blame it on the non alcoholic beer.for the first time in a very long time i feel like i have control over it just need to ease back into the gambling side because it is a trigger for me to drink.

gl to ya Jerry....In Feb it'll be 17 years, that's right 17 YEARS, since I touched a drop of alcohol....Used to drink at least a 1/5 a day of Gin/Vodka.....Just decided enough was enough, and said I quit....

Do I crave it, you betcha....Some times it really comes on to me, other times I don't even realize I used to drink....

Good decision....Hard one to keep up with....Again, you BETCHA....Your life is yours to take or leave....

TAKE that good mind you have, the surrounding family, friends, fellow Forum members, and use em for your strength........

You're a smart man, and I have the faith that you will turn er around for the best....GL to ya my man....

Working out at the gym and prayer have really helped me stay sober...wouldnt trade anything I have in my life right now I can tell you that things are brighter on the other side it take time...one day at a time the longer you stay sober the better you feel about yourself and your whole personality and outlook on life will change if you stick with it....all the best buddy and give me a call whenever you get the chance!!!

Wishing you nothing but the best... Sometimes you do have to take a break and step away... With you writing that you have no idea how many people you are helping on this site including myself. I do not have a drinking problem but I do question my gambling at times.
