Good Luck, I have been there and done that!! Got a 20 yr T-Shirt out of it.. But i never did gamble while i was drinking. Of course i did trade my drinking addiction for a gambling addiction and it didn't cause too much of a riff with others like the drinking did but there will still be issues that will tempt you and you have been wise to see the signs in the past so keep those eyes open to the FUTURE!! Take Care and GL

I too Jerry have battle the same deamons with drinking, going months at a time with not drinking and then drinking again.

One thing i can tell you, drinking is associated with a lot of the things you do in your life, like gambling. So if it helps you to not drink, dont gamble. I lost an awful lot of my life Jerry to drinking in excess, and let me tell you one thing, it wasnt worth it.

I will pray for you Jerry, hang in there and focus on God and your family, those two things are way more important than BC, drinking, or gambling.

God bless you my man, if you ever need to talk get my addy from your brother. I think i could honestly relate to a lot of exactly what you are going thru.

Good Luck to you Jerry. I quit drinking completely about 5 months ago. It's the greatest thing I ever did. I almost lost my wife, the most important thing in my life. Now I walk for 2 hours a day, I lost 45 pounds and feel like a new man. I wish you the best in everything!!

I'm no clinical expert but you said..

i went 8 days without drinking and then i gambled on some games thursday night and went back to drinking heavy again.in 15 days i have only drank 1 night but it was when i was gambling
it sounds like the 2 go hand in hand and perhaps you should try NOT to ease back into the gambling for a longer break. take the rest of the month off or longer and see how things play out. lots of people can bet $50 on a game and have a couple beers watching it. but there are others that can' control the temptation to over do it in one or both areas.

I wish you the best in your battle!

Me and Tech both like to drink but his main deal is he can't just have a couple. They make fun of me cause I drink 5 or 6 and then eat and go to bed.Once Tech starts he don't stop till he falls over in the bed.I know alot of our family hopes he gets better but time will tell.We had lunch last week and I told him this would be the hardest thing he's ever done. It's easy to get addicted but tough as nails to quit. You know I'm praying for you.

From a Bulldog to a Techie, best of luck to you man. As everyone else said, this shit will always be here, but it sounds like you may need to take a long break from gambling as the two seem to go together for you. Fight on and just know that no matter how hard it is going to be, it will be well worth it.
