Hmm, I have a question:

Why won't Fresno agree to use Big 10 officials at home against Wisky when Wisky offered to let them use WAC officials next year when they play in Wisconsin?

The botton here is that the NFL will have some sort of "instant replay" that stop calls that in this case decided the results of the game.

Hochuli, in his defense has been one of the best for years.... the guy is only human!!

I didn't see the play, but if I understand what happened an instant replay wouldn't really remedy the situation since the play wasn't allowed to progress to completion. No one will ever know definitively who would have recovered the ball.

I see what you mean...but could the NFL actually change the rule to give the replay officials discretionary judgment to overrule a fumble recovery of a dead ball post-whistle? Far-reaching implications there. I don't know.

I have to agree, a blown whistle has got to stop play or your going to open a big can of worms when someone gets hurt when some players think the play should be continued and some don't when a whistle is blown.

The funny thing is no players reacted to the whistle being blown. It was so obvious it was a fumble that everyone kept playing and Charger player picked up the ball and still would have if the whistle had not been blown. In a divisional game like this with the top two teams this is a huge loss. Broncos have two games on the Chargers instead of none and are now holding the tiebreaker. Huge call.

He should know that they are in the last 2 minutes of the game.

The play will get review anyway. Why not just let it play out. Not like everyone wa running toward the ball.

Only 1 Chargers' LB was closest to it. Cutler was never in harm ways.
