I don't think theres a question about whether you can still wager your money that's in the account. Meaning yes you can.

Withdrawing may become harder though. In other words going through your bank won't be an option. You will probably have to get it through western union for payouts.

With online gambling actually being illegal, will there ever be a crack down on the individuals using the online gambling sites...I guess what I am asking is along with your money possibly being frozen is it possible that the individual get prosecuted...

They would have to prove that you're gambling online first. And make sure that you're paying taxes on any winnings. I can't see the Government prosecuting everyone that gambles online as they wouldn't have the time to do it.

It's the most stupidest thing they can do IMO. They should regulate it like it is in Nevada that way it increased jobs and taxes.

This is just another way to alienate ourselves from other Countries. Antigua already beat the US at the UN Nations Committee about online gambling and the US Government just ignored it.

Just like our Government Ignored going into Iraq. We keep pissing on other Countries which is increasing the threat of terror and war against us.

Democrats do the same shit attaching bills to other bills and getting them passed through. It's total BS on both sides for doing this with any bill. It's a strategic move by the Republicans right now, because if the Democrats vote against it then it makes them look bad and can be used by the Republicans in the elections.

Both sides also do BS votes late at night when others can't make it or have to try and hurry in to make the vote. Total crock of shit and shows how the Government shouldn't be ran.

IMO if they pass this then they need to ban all forms of gambling in the USA including Nevada, Atlantic City, Mississippi, horse racing, dog racing, poker and lotteries.

Not only wagering, but online poker and casinos would be effectively shut down to US residents. Fed sent a message when they arrested BETONSPORTS CEO. This bill is a scary reality.

What they should do is just tax it and make #$$$ instead of shutting it down.?

All this will do is encourage more illegal bookmaking.

Yes, more illegal bookmaking with people playing with money that they don't have. It's not going to curb it. The Government tried the same thing with alcohol and it didn't work. Not sure if they tried it with tobacco or not way back then.

I am reading the bill now...and it's wording is very tight...not quite airtight, but tight. NO transfers directly or through 3rd party vendors based in US (Neteller). THere's verbage about balance of acct going back to the individual (they have to pay you what you have in an acct).

No word on existing funds in an acct. but I havent read the whole doc.

What may occur is that funding would be done via cahsier's check via fed ex or west. union...Slowest possible method, then you may be OK...but elec transfer would be non-existent from US accts.

Gov't spends billions on cow fart research and they shut this down? Gimme a gd break.

Wayne....This is what I think will happen, and someone correct me if they think I'm wrong. The US Gov't can't do much about how you spend your money out of this country. You obviously won't have much problems betting online. What they can do is make sure that you cannot deposit or get money deposited in your credit card account or deposits from neteller or ATM online. If they see those deposits, you could be prosecuted.....This is my speculation

Netellers official location is not the USA it's Isle of Man. Of course that doesn't matter as you couldn't fund through them.

Fed Ex is not a bad option but...

Would your bank debit your account for a check from an offshore sportsbook is this bill passes?

                          Does anyone know?

No, that would not work anymore. You would have to get it at western union via cash. Or possibly fedexed via a different company name other than the sportsbook.

Why don't they just let betting on sports go through Vegas? I wouldn't have a problem with that. All sport bets can be done over the phone or on a credit card through Vegas and taxed....All they really care about is that they aren't getting tax money from online bets. That's the only Goddamn reason they give two shits. There's a mutitude of betting that's allowed in this country including the fucking lottery. So let Vegas handle it and tax the shit......Fucking law making pricks. And it's still a heavily sponsored Republican effort.
