I guess I'm biased but I find the NFC talk in this thread ridiculous.

In July-August when the major publications come out almost every one of them will have the Cowboys first and the Redskins last in the NFC East. Why? I have absolutely no idea whatsoever considering that we DESTROYED them in the December meeting with the playoffs on the line to complete a season sweep. But I know they will.

And in spite of this people are saying the Redskins will be a disappointment and the Cowboys will be a "dark horse"? I don't get it.

I'll take the Patriots to beat Carolina in the Super Bowl.

Not me. I have Philly winning the Division and Dallas missing the Playoffs ... and the same SB Matchup!

Yeah but Wayne I said the major publications. SI, ESPN, Sporting News, CNNSI, whoever...they will be picking Dallas first and the Redskins last with the Giants and Eagles in between.

So my point is...how can the Cowboys be considered a dark horse and the Redskins a disappointment given that?

I realize the Redskins had a good year last year but since nobody is gonna be picking them to do anything this year I don't see how they can be a disappointment.

Personally, I like the Skins and Eagles to finish at the top of the East.

I like Carolina in the NFC, but the Seahawks were no fluke and, for that reason, cannot be counted out.

In the AFC the Colts are the best team, but until they get over the hump, well, you know. I like Peyton, but he could go on to be another Marino or Fouts. Lotta' numbers and no SB wins.

Denver is the second best team imo in the AFC and Plummer improved dramatically last year vs 2004. But man when he blows it, he blows it. And until he can prove he can win a pressure game without single-handedly turning the ball over 50 times, well, the AFC is still open.

The Chargers were really strong last year. It's a mystery they did not win more games. But Breese is gone.

The Bengals will disappoint unless they can be recipients of the same turnover magic as last year.

Jags are a possibility, but Steelers are the most likely choice imo.

No way. I'm a skins fan. i live in Silver Spring. But in reality, NFC EAST has to be the hardest division. I think Giants are gonna take our division. Sure we beat them, we beat the boys and eagles too. However, that was last year, new year, new season.

sorry! didn't mean to cahnge the subject.
it seems to get a little tighter each year. i will predict this, the redskins will finish last in their division. the colts will never win with peyton manning. the cowboys will never win with jerry jones. in fact, word has it that he has taken back control of the team and parcells is just going through the motions. parcells never wanted owens and he is not ok with him missing the earlier sessions.

                    Fair enough.

Just remember I said this when the mags do come out.

I don't know how you can possibly talk about the Bungals, Steelers, Chargers, Broncos, Colts & Jags without ever mentioning N.E. anywhere. They will be ahead of many if not all of those but i would love to hear your reasons why they won't! What have the Chargers,Colts,Bengals or Jags ever done??

Philly will not win the NFC east...they have done nothing to improve the passing game....

the team that wins the division is the ny giants....even coughlin says they will be good this year and he never says that.....they are improved on both sides of the ball.....It is put up or shut up time for ELI....word is that he worked extremely hard in the offseason.....Their D is going to be sick......

Philly has experience and an easier schedule. If they pick up a WR and McNabb is healthy, they have just as good a chance as anyone!

Philly has always had bad receivers. They went to 3 NFC titles games with James Thrash and Todd Pinkston. The Birds will bounce back big this year and win the NFC East and probably lose to Carolina in the NFC title game.
