I agree Bonds probably didn't hit any homers on steroids with Pittsburgh. With Pitt in 7 season Bonds hit 176 homers or 25 per season.

Without steroids from 2000 through 2004 Bonds would never of hit any where near 700+ homers. Through the 1999 season Bonds hit 445 homers in 14 seasons. In the previous 4 season from 1996-1999 Bonds averaged 38 homers per season. The next 5 season starting at age 36 he averaged almost 52 homers per season. His lowest total was 45 in a 130 games.

Clearly, his stats are jacked up because of the juice. But before he began using, I would maintain to anyone who would listen, that he was the best all around baseball player of my generation. I still stand by that. He fucked it up by cheating.

I agree with Rented Mule 100%...these drugs do not make you hit the ball, they do not make you catch the ball, they do not improve your hand-eye coordination.

I disagree. Here's why. The difference between hitting a baseball out of the park and a fly out to the outfield is a few millimeters on the bat and an inch or two of increased bat speed. With steroids bat speed and power are increased. Without steroids some of Bonds homers would have been fly outs or foul balls.

We agree to disagree...sort of. I agree that it will allow him to hit a ball farther, but you have to have extroadinary talent to hit it to begin with. And he was not a guy with warning track power prior to '98. Granted, he wasn't a 70 hr guy either.
