Pittsburgh -4 (-109)
I've had a really solid season in the NFL and i feel REAL good about ending it with a Winner. I am by no means a Pitt. fan or a Seahawks hater but i think people are seriously crazy if they think Seattle can/will win this game. It's just my opinion and we all have our own but i think the people being fooled by this line in Vegas are the Seahawk backers!
I see alot of "Oh the line should be or could be 7" OR "Everyone is betting Pitt. ... Give me Seattle!" OR "The Public is all over Pitt!"
Listen, the paths these teams have taken to get here are not comparable. Seattle in one of the Rating polls had the easiest schedule this year. That earned them 2 home games. The 1st against Washington was won by 10 points but that is only because Washington found one of their Many offensive slumps. Seattle turned the ball over several times and didn't play well at all. The 2nd game against Carolina was perfect timing for Seattle for several reasons. I played the Panthers and the points in that game but it was obvious from the start that the Panthers were undermanned and physically drained.
Pitt. is a team that lost 3 straight in the middle of the season with injuries to the QB or their record and seed would have been much better. Say what you will about Cincy but they had a starter in Kitna playing who knew the system and even had a lead for awhile. Pitt. won and did it convincingly in the end. They then went to Indy and Denver and just beat down both teams in all 3 phases of the game. Think what you want but if Seattle had to go through those 3 cities, they wouldn't be near the bowl right now.
Alexander is a one dimensional back, period. He wants to run with the pill and that's all he cares about. That will hurt him as Pitt. will blitz and focus on him on their way to the QB. I do not see Shaun having a good game at all. If that's the case can Matt beat them? I don't see it. He will face pressure he simply isn't used to and with Alexander having no room to run, Hasselbeck will become one dimensional just like Peyton and Plummer. I have no faith in the WR's of Seattle against the Pitt. secondary. They are famous for dropping balls and this game (pressure) will magnify those Sunday.
I could really care less about the Bus in Detroit. I don't think it will make a difference on the field but i do believe it will be the nice riding into the sunset story when it's over.
Home vs. Road : If you think for one minute this isn't going to be somewhat of a road game for Seattle, you're crazy! It will matter and it will only add pressure to the Hawks when Pitt. turns them over and gets the momentum. 3/4 of these fans will be in Pittsburgh colors!
The Pitt. offense has done whatever they want in this post season. Randle el adds a dimension teams just have trouble preparing for and Ben has been Brady like in his approach (lol ... Sorry, i had too!). Hines Ward is a sure handed receiver and the TE Miller has been unstoppable of late. Add to that, Parker and Bettis will change it up and just wear down this Seahawk defense by the 2nd half.
Respect and the Seahawks do not mean much because as stated above, Pitt. would have been a much higher seed if they had not lost their QB. So the 6 seed being favored over the 1 seed shouldn't be a shocker or sign of disrespect. They were a much better team than their seed. It's a number and one Vegas is banking on Seahawk backers noticing. "Oh What a Deal" ... NOT!
I really believe that it is Cowher's time (even more than Bettis). Pittsburgh has CLEARLY been on a mission and i don't see this Seattle team stopping that!
I just don't see any chance of Seattle winning this game or even keeping it within a TD. I just don't!
Pittsburgh 34
Seattle 17
GOOD LUCK!
