You would still have the same amount of winners with the palying field being almost even, if you added across. I use to run this type of pools and the first ones were the last digit type. The feedback I got was that it would have been more fun for the off number guys if you added across. I've been doing it that way since the initial pools and nobody has ever whined about losing. Just my .02. I juat wanted to put something out there for thought.

I hear ya' as i've played in or ran about 30 different versions of these but the rules have pretty much been set in this one already.
