What I was geeting at was that if you add the team's score across, then more people with crap numbers would have a chance at winning. In your last didgit scenario, the good numbers are 3, 4 and 7. If you added across, the people with the shit numbers, i.e. 2, 5 and 8 would have a chance at winning. In the NFC 17-13 score, if you added across, the number would be 8 and 4, not 7 and 3. I'm a longtime player of these block pools and the most fun is when you add the numbers across for the individual teams. That way, everybody has a shot at winning instead of just the guys with the 3,4 and 7 numbers. I'm not saying the 2, 5 and 8 numbers can't win. It's just that if you add the scores across (to arrive at the winnng square), the playing field would be more equitable.

Not this way because if a team has 6 points or say 16 and scores a TD, They would be up to 12 or 22 and the 2 would get paid before the extra point! Odd numbers hit this way!

I understand what you're saying Wayne. Just out of the shute, the people with 3-0, 6-0 and 7-0 has the advantage. That will also be true as the game progresses as those with the 3, 4 and 7 has a better chance at winning than those with the 2, 5 and 8 numbers. I would even say the 1 and 9 will also be less of a chance of winning than the 3 ,4 and 7. Yes they can win, but not as likely than those with the key numbers. All I'm saying is that if you added the numbers across, more people have a chance of winning than the key number people. I'm in a $200 Super Bowl pool whereby you add the numbers across. I would never have played that if they did not add across. I could get lucky and have the key numbers, but going in, I'd like to have an even chace of winning as the game progresses if I do have the non key numbers.

If someone gets a TD to go to 10, 20, or 30 than the 9 gets paid.

Of course not everyone will win and some numbers are better than others but that's part of the game and luck of the draw. There will still be many winners this way!

You would still have the same amount of winners with the palying field being almost even, if you added across. I use to run this type of pools and the first ones were the last digit type. The feedback I got was that it would have been more fun for the off number guys if you added across. I've been doing it that way since the initial pools and nobody has ever whined about losing. Just my .02. I juat wanted to put something out there for thought.
