I don't think BW, is condoning bashing. I think he's saying at times it's necessary. The bashing rarely happens unprovoked.

I DON'T need to be told who is right and who is wrong. I can make that judgement for myself. If I lose money, IT'S MY MONEY. Not yours. I appreciate the notion of proptection, but really, it goes to an unbelievable extreme here sometimes. It' noble, but in life, we need to learn by our mistakes.

I'm not TELLING you what to do. I'm expressing my opinion. It's your choice to read it. It's your choice to agree or disagree.

The bottom line is this. It is an open forum. Everyone has the right to post. I just happen to be an opinionated asshole. I have no problem expressing my opinions on this or any matter.

I will say this. If we didn't have guys expressing their opinions this place would be pretty boring.

and for that reason we do not have many new posters .. for that reason we have people hesitating if they can post an opinion .. and if you think that is good you are dead wrong ..

OK here's my feeling on that. I understand where you guys come from on newbies, I like new and fresh opinions too, I think the more members the better. Nobody gets bashed for having a bad record, UNLESS they lie about it. In fact, members are really cool about other members having bad days, Frank included, we pick each other up. I don't see why anyone would be afraid to post. The only people I ever see get bashed, or members trying to lie, potential services etc...

i can understand B dubs point, I interpret it as he is saying this forum isn't in place to be all cozy and lovey dovey, we're here for business, and business advice, so why should we worry about all the fuzzy feelings?

The problem is that we have created a BC family that doesn't operate this way on a daily basis, so it's kind of hypocritical for us to take that stance, on the other hand not all regular posters buy into the family thing...to each his own...we will not be on the same page in here, that's the beauty of it!!

Here's a thought I made many threads ago and was kind of bashed for it. I think guys should have to post their GOY records. Guess what? That's our protection....Guys here won't let someone post a BS record.

As far as Rainman, he IS 4-1. You have NO proof that he is the other rainman and seem somewhat obsessed to prove it. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. But you've bashed him for that relentlesly. It has to be proven. As far as his record right now. It's good, no matter how he hypes it. I may make a bet on his play seeing that he is 4-1. If it loses. No more bets on Rainman for me. I play the same units, night in night out, whether I'm up or down. Only if I'm hot will I bump it up.

Other than the rainman thing, I don't think you are too harsh and enjoy reading your opinions Frank. I love a good debate....

Exactly, this is the internet, you can hide behind your computer. A member could go 0-30 and no one would bash him, in fact, everyone would say, you can turn it around, and be supportive. Would anybody play his plays? No. But if that same member was 0-30 and was claiming to be 30-0, members would play his plays, and if you weren't here to keep him honest, we'd all be screwed. So thanks for that Frank. No one should be scared to post on this website, unless they plan on lying.

One of the strengths of this forum is that there are many good handciappers who can turn a profit. I strongly disagree with people who say you cannot win betting sports. You can win, if you show discipline and pick more winners than losers.

One of the strengths of BC is that there is self-policing going on. If someone lies about their records, they'll get nailed. If some conman shoots his mouth off, loses, and com,es back under another name and shoots his mouth off again, he'll be exposed.

If you don't want to be "bashed," don't show up out of nowhere and claim you're going to win 90 percent, don't lie about your record and don't insult our intelligence. If the hypesters and 15-year olds aren't distinguished from the many good handciappers here, then BC becomes just another useless chatroom filled with inanities.

"Bashing" isn't good. But exposing phonies is good.

No one will "bash" you if you:

a) post plays sincerely;
b) are honest about your success (or lack thereof)---posting accurate records helps;
c) don't make moronic comments about games being fixed, etc.

On the other hand, if you're full of shit, I reserve the right to "bash" you (something I rarely ever do around here).
