        3T!

That stat about Jeter and A-Rod is exactly right. But there is no cap and we have an outlandish owner who is an idiot but will always put a team with a chance to win on the field. I can't HATE for that.

What gets me is the Red Sox payroll is second and they are closer to the Yankees payroll then the third highest payroll team in MLB is to them. And you never hear anything about that, just the curse or the lovable underdog etc...

TTT, I'm not a Yanks fan. I'm a Met fan. I hate the Yanks. I for one am tired of listening to Yankee haters whine about their payroll. Part of their reason for their huge payroll is their sucess on the field. Yes they have also bought and paid for some over-priced talent.

IMO the Yank haters whine for one reason. JEALOUSY. Plain and simple.

They'll never be a salary cap until there's profit sharing.

Bernie, Jeter, Rivera, Posada, all high priced players that grew up in the system, had success and we paid them instead of letting them walk.

i am not bitching about the payroll...just simply stating that if you outspend most teams by 200-300% then anything less than a title should be considered a failure......i agree...it is how you spend the money that matters......although i am a sox fan.....i always had big respect for the yanks...actually more so than the red sox...i like their professionalism...no facial hair...travel in suits.....very rarely bitch...just play baseball....but it is my obligation since i was born into this hell called "red sox nation"...i must bitch about the yanks somehow.....

i actually owned season tix to the yanks when i lived downstate CT the year Torre got hired.....since nobody went to the games then and were gonna move from the bronx...because it could not draw fans.....got them cheap too.....but just love good baseball and it was only an hour away....

I think its funny that as much I dislike the Sox, I love how they play the game. With such passion, such youth, their like lil kids playing in the back yard enjoying every second of it, like its their dream to play ball.

i do to a point....but i am a purist....sometimes it seems the sox play like they do not care....but then again we are always toughest on our own teams

I'll second that, I'm a baseball fan first and a Yankee fan second. I'm not really a big fan of the Yankees changing the roster every week....sometimes they bring somebody in to a game, and if I haven't watched a game in a couple of days, I'm like "when did we get this guy?" I like having a team that gels over two or three seasons, maybe makes a couple of moves in the offseason, that's what great teams are made of.
