Jeter, Rivera, Bernie, Torre and even A-Rod are all examples about all that is right about baseball.

no...it is not...i agree there...but it is also a little outlandish to outspend the next closes team bu 80 something million dollars.....if this does not get a ring..then it is ludicrous.....i think the angels payroll is like 90 million......i heard a stat that jeter and a-rods pay is more than tampa or kc's whole team....or close.....can not remember.....

there definitely should be a salary cap and a salary floor in baseball, but to blame the yankees for the salary disparity is unwarranted. Steinbrenner is playing by the rules, albeit the rules are fucked up, they are still the rules. I would bitch about the players union instead.
