The ball park is southwest and the Rock Hall is northwest of the Embassy Hotel. Both venues are off of East Ninth Street while the Embassy is off East 12th Street. I didn't mention it in the first post, but the parking garage at Reserve Square where the Embassy is located is one of the worst in Cleveland unless they repaired it in the last few years. If it rains, there is a good chance your car will end up stained with a lyme deposit on it from water running through the concrete.
Don't worry about the traffic and getting around because the traffic on the weekends is nothing and for the most part, there aren't a lot of one-way roads downtown. I don't know if you are taking the family with you, but if you are, check out the Science Center next to the Rock Hall as well.
The Holiday Inn would be closer to both venues (and I recommended it because it is halfway between the Jake and the Rock Hall - similar to what you are trying to accomplish staying at Embassy). There also is another hotel close to the Holiday Inn. It's a Hampton Inn at East Ninth and Superior.
