  • Question (Help) Cleveland, Ohio

I am thinking of going to Cleveland, Ohio for a Sox/Indians Series and I found a couple hotels within a 1/2 mile of Jacobs Field and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Can anyone tell me what type of neighborhood this is, if it's safe or sketchy?? I am not sure because I have heard good and bad things about Cleveland. Any help would be great.

    Thanks!!

I use city search, it tells you what's around the area, like what restarent's are around, bar's and so forth. People give there reviews and you take it for what it is worth. I heard the same thing about Clev., some good and some bad. I hope to go to thr R -n- R HOF some day.

        Wayne,

Lived in Cleveland for about a year, lived downtown on St. Claire walking distance to the park, shoot me an email and I will tell you all you need to know, where to stay, etc...Best advise is get scalped tickets, it is legal and nobody hassels you...Let me know what you need in the email...

Mariott(sp) and Holiday Inn and Best Western on W. 6th are all very safe....Hall of Fame is right near Browns Field, so it is a cool trip over there....Stay on West side of 9th and you will have no issues....Stay out of the Flats....

            Fats,

Why do you say stay out of the Flats???

            Wayne,

Cleveland is not really a bad city at all. Of course it IS a major city, so there's always a little shadyness. I've been there about 15 times and have never seen any trouble.

What about E 12th St? Is that near the so called flats?

I am assuming it is no different than Boston or any other big city, but when I mentioned to a couple of people about heading to Cleveland they just thought it wasn't a clean/nice city and I was curious to know if they knew what they were talking about.

              Thanks for all the help.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn last year and had a blast at the Flats!! I bought tickets right before the game started for face valve!
