Embassy on East 12th is a decent hotel, nothing too fancy and economical, but the building has a funny smell (bad ventilation I guess). It is a multi-use building with apartments, retail and office space - the basement is where channels 19/43 broadcast from. I used to work in that building so I know a little bit about it. However, I wouldn't go east of there as the neighborhood gets a little sketchy.
The walk to Jacobs field will be around 10 minutes (maybe a little less) and the walk to the Rock Hall will be 15 minutes (or a little more). East Ninth Street is one of the main roads so just walk up Chester Avenue to Ninth Street for the safest route. Outside of a few bums you don't have anything to worry about as Cleveland is pretty deserted on the weekends anymore.
As far as nightlife, the Flats was the place to be 10-20 years ago. The east bank of the flats is about boarded up with the exception of a few places still open. The West bank is safer and has The Power House (4-6 restaurants and bars) plus a nice strip club close by called Christies - check it out.
The trendy place is The Warehouse District over on West Sixth Street. If you can deal with crowded bars, over-priced drinks, cover charges and dance music, that's the place to be if you want to meet a hotty. I recommend Liquid, it's not as crowded plus the people there are friendly.
If you haven't decided on a hotel yet, there is a Holiday Inn on Euclid Avenue just west of East Ninth Street. It used to be an old office building that they renovated a few years back. The price will probably be around the same, maybe a few bucks less than Embassy.
Have a good time!

Thanks guys. The Embassy seemed nice with a 3 Room Hotel for $149 a night. I don't like what you say about the smell though. I just wanted something with easy access to the Park, Hall of Fame and Interstate.
You say don't go East of that neighborhood. Does that mean the park and other stuff are West?
Is the Holiday Inn on Euclid Avenue the same distance to the places i'm going and a better option?
Thanks again Guys!
