Frank in short, that's why he is still here.

kmann, the reason some lesser known members tend to "Jump In" in times like this is because when they have asked him simple questions about his plays in the past they have had the shit bashed out of them so they crawl back to their corner and be quiet. When this happens and others pile on they sometimes feel like it's their chance for redemption and they jump in on it.

I have had my moments here with some of my own so called best friends. It's not because i wanted to "take them down" but because there were questions. This site is made up of 95% so called little or lesser known members and many of them know/feel their voice means nothing because their not in the circle. That's why when they have a voice or get bashed for a question nobody comes to their rescue. It's sad and too bad because people that can't see that are really missing out on some things and some good members who are LITERALLY AFRAID TO TALK!

Wayne, you raised some good and valid points. You can't blame RJ or other member because some are afraid to post. It's a lame excuse. Most members, RJ included eagerly welcome new members. If new members don't have the confidence to post and stand up for what they feel is right well then putting a muzzle on RJ won't change the personality of the complaining member. He probably still won't post.

My exchange with STAYLOR36 yesterday is a good example. He's 22. He has the balls to post and post his opinions. Those are the members that make this site great. Not the members that whine via email. It's all about open dialogue.

There's many members in the BC clique that slammed the door open and forced themselves in the clique. Why? Because they have stronger personalities. Some are weak.

Kmann, I hear your point. However, I have more respect for the Husker's of BC than the members that have to send email to Monte, Wayne and/or Spark because they don't have the balls to post their opinions or objections in an open forum. If all members did so then they'd be no BettorsChat.

I don't agree with how Husker went about it. There's more tactful ways of getting one's point across. BUT he got his point across. And had the balls to do so.

Some also are not weak frank, just not eager to join in on the drama when a simple question gets bashed and they are told to stay away if they don't like it.

I have had a ton of emails saying how thin his skin is and so has spark. I have also received MULTIPLE emails asking that he not be allowed to post here by "friends" of his (believe it or not). Spark can tell you i'm not lying about this. I will NEVER say the names but trust me it's true. Confidentiallty will never be ruined on my part, i don't believe in it.

Let's not forget we ALL start as newbies. 18 months ago I was a newbie. I just so happen to be an opinionated Italian asshole from NY. We Know the type. LOL

Age and maturity has lots to do with ones 'growth' at BC.

frank 99% of the emails are by people who have already had run ins with RJ on the open forum and their tired of doing it so those comments are really not true. They don't feel the need to argue with him on the open forum daily and we respect that too.

Just caught this thread for the first time. Interesting stuff. I capped this year's NBA for the first time but had been a follower prior to that so I have seen both sides of this issue. Doing the "Denver Baseball" thing now but that's strictly for fun. It would seem to make sense to have a standard rating system of 1* - 5* games. This keeps things simple for the followers and lets the cappers "compete" with one another by keeping a consistent rating system. A "Bettor's Chat Code of Posting" perhaps? Completely unenforceable I know but still a good idea to try.

What burns me as a follower is reading the cappers who bet 1* - 5* games, go 2-15, are down 40 units, then suddenly have their 50* Game of the Millennium. They hit it and claim they are up 10 units on the year. Technically true but what kind of jackass would actually play 50 units on a 2-15 capper's recommendation? Don't laugh - I have seen this sort of thing, though not on this scale, from very seasoned cappers and prominent names on this site, and it's misleading to the followers.

As a capper I'd like it consistent because people do look at the units to see who's doing the best. Someone with a 2-4-6-8-10 unit system will always be up 2x the amount of someone using a 1-2-3-4-5 system (assuming both are positive). Yes they'd also be down 2x if in the red, but the cappers here are generally in the black. It burned me this season to see my 1-5* NBA plays inching up and seeing others hit their 20* games to blow me out of the water.

As a side note, I'm strictly a $5 - $25 bettor both as a follower and when I bet my own NBA plays. My guess is the majority of the readers here are the same. Just screwing around to have some added interest in a game. Probably won't weigh in again on this topic but I'd like to see some voluntary standards if you think we'd ever agree on any.

Wayne, we actually agree with each other on this issue. There's way's to bash other members. I do it all the time. You do it all the time.

If members think a certain member has thin skin they should create a new thread 'bashing' that member without mentioning his name. They'll get their point across. I do it often without mentioning any names. They'll also find they have supporters. They won't know their 'friends' sending the mods email.

Members have thin skin such as Wiz when someone questions their picks. It's very easy to question someone. Create a new thread. Post your reasoning. I've done it many times.

Good Post Mike and i'm willing to bet 75%-80% of the people here bet no more than $25 a game.

I understand you feeling that way. Although I truly don't feel that way.

BTW, I don't think you are an asshole. We are very similar in many ways. We both have our opinion and aren't afraid to share them.

The `Chicken Little` syndrome comes to roost

It`s amazing how the antics of one person can get a whole slew of `regular` people in a tizzy......i have posted plays periodically here and have never seen the need to mention a dollar figure.....I am a $10 to $100 bettor, and often will follow a few of the plays made by some of the excellent cappers on this board....win or lose, it`s a pastime....The name of this site is BETTORSCHAT which implies that those people of which this site is comprised, GAMBLE ( GASP!)...Which means ,i don`t see this site as a `tool` for educating or posting messages to our young `utes` of America, who may have stumbled onto this site...To set up rules or restrict opinions or wagers of people posting such is totally contrary to the democracy and freedoms which we all should enjoy....Does anyone think some teenie-boppers are going to listen to some old farts talk about sports, drinking, BOOBS and gambling?...There may be one or two, but i`m not going to worry about something beyond my control....Thats their parents job....Gl today, and especially you Ron on your gazzilion dollar wgaer

Wayne, what's your take on the purpose of this thread? You haven't weighed in. I know you only post units.

Also, as a mod what's the chances as Mike suggested of having a "Bettor's Chat Code of Posting" type of ethics?
