Northcoast Basketball Compline from the "friends of Mike Lee"(don't know whether they are living or dead friends as he is, or ghosts, angels, spirits, goblins, demons, etc)
Anyways, the "friends' according to Phil Steele went 10-3 yesterday.
The comp. from his friends (here in earth or elsewhere) is a 3* on UNDER in the Utah/Seattle game.

Each week the BWorld crew will get together and isolate the strongest plays on the board and release them free of charge right here on this page. All plays will be star rated. Our crew has 100+ years in combined experience in the sportsbetting world, some making their sole income from their wagering. When a play is released here, you'll know the game has been handicapped from every angle. Furthermore, we'll insure that you get line value with each and every play.

All plays will be star rated and equivalent to a percentage of your bankroll. 1* = 1% of your bankroll and so on.

        Football Ratings

1* - Our lowest rating. Slightly better than a strong opinion
        2*
        3*
        4*
        5* Our top weekly plays
7* - Very strong, generally only one per month
10* - Game of the year

Note: Basketball, Hockey and Baseball releases will be mostly in the 1-5 star range with the average play being a 2*

        Key Release Schedule:

Football - Key releases for Sat football will be up by 7pm est on Friday nights. NFL up late Sat night. Weeknight games, including Monday night Football will be posted 2 hours before game time.

Baseball, Hockey, Basketball posted weekdays 5pm est and Sat and Sun 11am est.

NFL 10* EAGLES -5 OVER FALCONS

For starters, put last weeks dismantling of the Rams by the Falcons on the shelf. Forget about the game. Don't let it influence your opinion this week. Atlanta won last weeks game for the reasons we pointed out here in this spot last week. The Rams didn't belong in the playoffs to begin with.

Instead, take a look at the following games from this year:

        ATL 6 ARIZ 3

        ATL 10 DET 17

        ATL 10 KC 56

        ATL 0 TAMPA BAY 27

Watching the hapless Rams try to stop Vick last week leaves you with the impression that he's unstoppable. But clearly, he can be stopped, as the above results indicate.

Non of the teams listed above is on the same planet as the Eagles. Make no mistake about it, this Eagles team is the real deal. As we mentioned last week, you have to throw out their final two regular season games as they had already clinched. That makes them 14-1 on the year with 10 of those wins by more than 10 points. They didn't just win, they dominated.

They started to look a little lackadaisical down the stretch but you have to keep in mind this team clinched the NFC East on NOVEMBER 28TH against the Giants!!!

Potentially bad weather favors the Eagles as well as it takes away from Vicks game and makes the Falcon attack more one dimensional.

Much the same way the Vikings looked good against the Packers then looked like a different team against the Eagles, expect the Falcons, who looked like world beaters against one of the worst teams in the NFL(Rams), to also look like a different team this week. Great teams tend to make everyone look bad.

Figure on the Eagles forcing Vick to win by throwing the ball. In that case, this game is over even sooner as Vick is average at best under those circumstances. Can you say, turnovers?

We went against our numbers in one game last week, and that turned out to be the only game we didn't nail. (The Colts). We're not going to make the same mistake this week. Our number on this game is the Eagles by 10. The Eagles get the monkey off their back and go to the Super Bowl...........FINALLY!

        NFL 3* STEELERS +3 -120 OVER PATS

Not nearly as strong of a play as the Philly game......

Alot has been made of Rookie QB Roethlisberger and how there's no way this kid can win this game. Of course most of those opinions are a result of last weeks poor showing vs the Jets.

We really don't feel this game is on Roethlisbergers shoulders. We also feel the weather helps to take that pressure off him.

Under perfect weather conditions, we'd favor the Pats here. In that case, the game WOULD depend on Big Ben making a big play or two. However, with the weather what it is, it takes away some of New Englands options and basically turns this game into a smash mouth, power vs power game with both teams trying to run the ball down the others throat.

That keeps this game tight, probably decided in the 4th quarter and we see the Steelers on top.

Our number on the game when taking the entire season into consideration is the Pats -2 however when we break the game down with the Pats road stats vs the Steelers home stats, we come up with the Steelers by 3. The fact that this game is in Pittsburgh is HUGE in our opinion.

We see a Pennsylvania Super Bowl : )

I had them at 7-3 which is quite outstanding for them of late.

                            Harmon forcast(also 5-3):

                            Conference Championships - Sunday, Jan. 23, 2005
*Philadelphia 29 Atlanta 23 - The Falcons' run-happy offense worked like a charm against the Rams, who couldn't stop the run all season, and Michael Vick will no doubt put on another show in Philly, but Atlanta hasn't proved it can mix it up enough to beat the Eagles. Philly has taken three straight in the series, most recently 23-16 last year in Atlanta, but its experience in four straight conference title games will be the key.
New England 21 *Pittsburgh 19 - The Patriots' Tom Brady made it clear on Sunday that he was tired of hearing Peyton this and Peyton that, and now he calmly faces his next challenge: paying the Steelers back for ending N.E.'s 21-game winning streak in Week Eight. It won't happen if Brady doesn't get lots of help from his offensive line, because the Patriots will need more than the five rushing yards they managed in Pittsburgh on Halloween.
