      About Northcoast

      Anybody??????

Do the lines move all the time like this whenever Phil Steele puts his picks out publicly? I guess he makes Vegas move!! Cokin, Ness, and those guys are a gimic and advertising type cappers. Alot of hype, but no results. They always give you a GOY to bite on it no matter the time or game.

Does everyone look for Northcoast????????? and then Vegas reacts????????

Northcoast ---has Virgina Tech as a +13 underdog tonight in his Volumne 22 Preseason Issue of the Power Sweep!!!

Wicked: thanks for replying to me post. I'm not sure what you're saying. Is that e-mail address a service that gives out their picks in advance of the games or what?

              Thanks again.

                        HOUSTON (64 - 63) at CHICAGO CUBS (71 - 56): Play On The Chicago Cubs -128 6star 8/28/2004 3:05:00 PM
Saturday, 8/28/2004 ROGER CLEMENS (R) vs. CARLOS ZAMBRANO (R). Zambrano throwing very well and Clemens has struggled over his last three with two of those being on the road with an ERA of 5.62. Both teams bats are hot but will ride the hotter Zambrano and the Cubs as the Cubs offense has hit Right Hand Starters better than the Astros. ZAMBRANO is 9-1 (+7.7 Units) against the money line in home games this season. (Team's Record) . The average score was ZAMBRANO 7.1, OPPONENT 2.6. ZAMBRANO is 9-1 (+7.7 Units) against the money line as a home favorite of -110 or higher this season. (Team's Record). The average score was ZAMBRANO 7.1, OPPONENT 2.6 . The Cubs bounce back Satruday and I will back them as my Major League Baseball Game Of The Week. This is a 5% Play

                          Football Newsletter

                          Saturday, August 28

                          Miami at Tampa Bay

Miami quarterback Jay Fielder will start tonight, but he is expected just to play a couple of series and possibly the entire first quarter. Then it will be A.J. Feeley, who will play through the third quarter. Sage Rosenfels is set to play the final frame.

Following the unexpected retirement of Ricky Williams, Miami has struggled to get its running game going in the preseason. Partly due to poor offensive line play, Travis Minor has gained just 15 yards on 13 carries in two games. He is still the No.1 tailback, but Sammy Morris will get the start tonight.

At receiver, recently acquired Marty Booker will start while recently signed Antonio Freeman will come off the bench and see action in the slot.

Tampa Bay quarterback Brad Johnson will start and play into the second quarter. He has attempted just eight passes this preseason. Chris Simms will follow with Brian Griese, who played for Miami last season, taking over sometime in the third quarter.

Guard Matt Stinchcomb will take some reps this evening seeing his first action of the preseason. But two projected offensive line starters, tackle Derrick Deese and guard Matt O’Dwyer, remain out.

Linebacker Shelton Quarles will miss tonight’s game with a broken wrist. Wide receiver Joey Galloway is doubtful according to coach Jon Gruden. And running back Charles Garner is questionable. Linebacker Derrick Brooks, who returned to practice this week after being sidelined with a hyper-extended knee, is a gametime decision.

                          Cincinnati at Atlanta

Carson Palmer will start under center for Cincinnati and play into the third quarter. Coach Marvin Lewis wants Palmer to experience the adjustments made after halftime.

Palmer will be followed by Jon Kitna and rookie Casey Bramlet. The team released Scott Rislov this week as Bramlet has secured the team’s third string spot.

Wide receiver Peter Warrick, who has missed the first two games with a knee injury, is considered probable tonight according to Coach Lewis.

Receiver Kelley Washington is out with an ankle injury. Starting cornerback Deltha O’Neal is out with an ankle injury.

Every starter on both sides of the ball is expected to be available tonight for Atlanta and most will play the entire first half.

Coach Jim Mora, Jr. even hinted that some starters would still be playing early in the third quarter.

Quarterback Michael Vick has been slowed by a hamstring injury this week, but he’ll go. His backup, Matt Schaub, who played very well in last week’s comeback home win over Minnesota, will see extended action this evening.

Starting left defensive end Patrick Kerney, who hasn’t appeared in a game this preseason, is expected to go tonight.

Allen Rossum, the league’s second-best punt returner last year with a 14 yard per return average, will return punts Saturday for the first time this preseason.

Rookie Michael Jenkins and Woody Dantzler will handle kickoff returns.

Cornerback Jason Webster is out with a tight groin.

                          Detroit at Baltimore

Quarterback Joey Harrington and the rest of the starters are expected to play the first half tonight for Detroit. He’ll be followed by Rick Mirer and Mike McMahon.

Coach Steve Mariucci wants to familiarize running backs Kevin Jones and Artose Pinner with their blocking responsibilities in one-back sets.

Injured cornerbacks Fernando Bryant and Dre' Bly will play.

Three linebackers who the team is counting on, Boss Bailey, James Davis and rookie Alex Lewis, continue to battle through injuries and remains sidelined.

Other Detroit players whom are out tonight with injuries are defensive end Kalimba Edward and running backs Olandis Gary, Cory Schlesinger and Paul Smith. Safety Brian Walker will be a game-time decision.

Kyle Boller will start under center tonight for Baltimore. He has moved the offense into opponents' territory on six of his 10 drives this preseason, but has come away with only 10 points (including one touchdown in the preseason opener).

Boller will be followed by Kordell Stewart and rookie Josh Harris.

Baltimore’s offensive line took a hit this week when starting center Mike Flynn broke his collarbone in practice. Other starters out include tight end Todd Heap, receiver Travis Taylor, defensive ends Marques Douglas and Anthony Weaver, and linebacker Peter Boulware.

Cornerbacks Fred Weary and Corey Fuller are both nursing nagging injuries while fellow corner Chris McAlister is still out due to a contract dispute.

Receiver Devard Darling and defensive tackle Tony Weaver are questionable.

                          --------------------------------------------------------

                          New England at Carolina

Tom Brady will start at quarterback and be followed by Rohan Davey and Kliff Kingsbury. The team has not communicated as to how much playing time each will receive.

Not surprisingly, coach Bill Belichick was very unhappy with his team’s effort in last week’s 31-3 loss at Cincinnati. New England has done a poor job of defending the run this preseason.

New England cut former San Fran receiver J.J. Stokes this week. Meanwhile, backup running back Cedric Cobbs is out with a leg injury.

Carolina quarterback Jake Delhomme and the rest of the starters are expected to play into the third quarter. He’ll be followed by Chris Weinke and then Rod Rutherford.

Defensive end Kavika Pittman will miss the season after tearing a ligament in his left knee.

Carolina's offensive line is banged up as starters Tutan Reyes and Matt Willig are nursing injuries.

                          Buffalo at Indianapolis

Drew Bledsoe will get the start for Buffalo and will be followed by Travis Brown and Greg Zolman. The exact amount of playing time for each is unknown.

Rookie quarterback J.P. Losman will miss at least the first half of the season after he fractured his left fibula Tuesday during practice. Buffalo hasn't ruled out signing another quarterback, but for now they are prepared to finish up the preseason with Bledsoe, Brown and Zolman.

With running back Travis Henry suffering bruised his ribs in last week’s game against Tennessee, Willis McGahee may get his first start.

The Indianapolis starters on both sides of the ball, including quarterback Peyton Manning, will play into the third quarter tonight. Manning will be followed by Corey Sauter and then Jim Sorgi.

Backup running back Dominic Rhodes hasn’t played in an exhibition game due to a hamstring injury. He should get about a dozen carries tonight according to coach Tony Dungy.

Injured pass catchers Dallas Clark and Brandon Stokley are also expected to play. Receiver Reggie Wayne and defensive back Donald Strickland are listed as questionable.

Several players are out with injuries including, receiver Troy Walters, linebacker Gilbert Gardner and safety Mike Doss.

                          Cleveland at Kansas City

Quarterback Jeff Garcia will start and be followed by Kelly Holcomb. Coach Butch Davis hasn’t indicated how much playing time each will receive.

Cornerback Michael Lehan is out for the remainder of the preseason with a foot injury. Safety Chris Crocker suffered a concussion against Detroit last week and is listed as questionable.

This is a short week for Kansas City, which beat St. Louis 24-7 on Monday night.

Trent Green will be followed by Todd Collins under center.

Starting offensive tackle Willie Roaf is nursing a sore knee while receiver Johnnie Morton’s Achilles’ injury may keep him out a month or more. Linebackers Mike Maslowski and Kawika Mitchell are out.

Free safety Jerome Woods has been slowed due to a hamstring injury but could play. Strong safety Greg Wesley is out.

                          Oakland at Arizona

Rich Gannon will start at quarterback for the Silver and Black. He’ll be followed by Kerry Collins and Marques Tuiasosopo.

Running back Amos Zereoue, who had been out with a bruised knee, will play tonight. First round pick Robert Gallery has been working with the starting offensive line.

Starter linebacker DeLawrence Grant is out after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. Fellow linebackers Napoleon Harris and Sam Williams were already out after having the same surgery.

Cornerback Charles Woodson has ended his holdout but will not play this weekend.

Arizona quarterback Josh McCown will start and will be followed by Shaun King.

Arizona is still hurting at the receiver spot. Bryant Johnson and Anquan Boldin are out with injuries, while rookie Larry Fitzgerald is unlikely to play. The team picked up receivers Scotty Anderson and Lawrence Hamilton off the waiver wire this week.

Running back Marcel Shipp is out with a knee injury. Damien Anderson and Josh Scobey are battling to determine who will be Emmitt Smith’s backup at tailback.

Defensive end Kenny King is likely out for the year with a wrist injury while fullback James Hodgins is expected to miss about a month.
