      Play On: Cleveland Plus Points
The Chiefs are coming off an impressive 24-7 win over their in state rival St.Louis on Monday night. They are now working on a short work week. Jeff Garcia seems to be getting more comfortable in the Browns offense since Butch Davis gave him the gree light to improvise. Goo sport for the dog here. Take the Browns plus the points.

Any NFL preseason away dog of +5.0 or more off a win versus a foe off a win versus a foe off a win of 15+ points is 8-1 SU&ATS since 1990.

According to what I know, it was Frank "Ace" Rosenthal. The name of the guy in the movie was a made up name for Hollywood. There is also a write up on Rosenthal's site about the role that DeNiro played. I doubt the guy could lie about that given his high profile! You can see his site just by using his name dot com.

Big Al's 3-game Baseball Package, with Run Line Game of the Year.
Our 3 selections include our Run Line Game of the Year on Boston minus
              1 1/2
runs, minus $1.45 vs. Detroit, with Pedro Martinez listed. Our other 2
              plays
are on San Francisco with Jason Schmidt (vs. Atlanta) and Minnesota
              with
              Johan Santana (vs. Anaheim).

1.) Boston Red Sox--At 7:05 pm, our Run Line Game of the Year is on the
Boston Red Sox minus 1 1/2 runs, minus $1.45 vs. the Detroit Tigers.
              Please
list Pedro Martinez. Martinez lost his last start, 3-0 at Toronto, but
              the
Red Sox have won 11 straight starts by Pedro Martinez if he got a loss
              in
his previous start. Also, Martinez is 5-0 in his career vs. Detroit
              with a
2.72 ERA, while Jeremy Bonderman is 0-3 lifetime vs. Boston with an
              8.31
ERA. Situations just don't get more PERFECT than this. Take the Red Sox
              minus 1 1/2 runs.

2.) San Francisco Giants--Schmidt has won 15 of his last 17 decisions,
              and
he will be working on 10 days' of rest this afternoon. When working on
              at
least 7 days' of rest, Schmidt is 8-2, and he's 32-12 as a favorite of
              minus
$1.50 or less. Take the Giants.

3.) Minnesota Twins--At 4:05 pm, our selection is on the Minnesota
              Twins
with Johan Santana, who has won 13 of 15 starts, including the last 8
              in a
row. And in those 15 games, Santana has given up 3 runs once, and 2
              runs or
less 14 times. He has a 1.64 ERA over his last 3 starts, while Bartolo
              Colon
has a 5.30 ERA this season. Let's take Minnesota to end Anaheim's
              9-game win
streak this afternoon. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie

Phil is advertising a 4* Play for NFLX tonight, his first 4* play of year. He does have 4 plays, so I assume these are his plays. Is Cinci his 4* play?

Matchup: New England Patriots vs Carolina Panthers
                    Grade: Premium Play
Selection: Play on the Carolina Panthers

                    Reason:
                    Bill Belichick was 8-0 L8 pre-season games before imploading in a 31-3
setback at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals last week, but they may
have to wait yet another week for the rebound, as the Carolina
Panthers have won 7 straight pre-season contests and were dominant
again last week. Oh yah, and then there's the little matter of
evening the score for what happened last January. That's not to say
there is any comparison between a pre-season win and the Superbowl,
but also, to say this is just another pre-season game is equally
false. This is the quote straight off the Carolina panthers official
                    website;
                    [break]
"It's not the regular season, but don't say that this game doesn't
count. The last time the Panthers met the Patriots, it was at the
Super Bowl, and we all know how that turned out. This time the game
is Saturday night in Charlotte and there is pride on the line - it's
                    not just a rematch"
                    [break]
Carolina QB Jake Delhomme puts it in a less dramatic perspective "I
look at it as a great test, New England is the best team in football.
That's how you have to look at it." Any way you look at it, it's
clear the Panthers and their fans have had this game circled - and so
have we. While there may be a lot of distractions for the visiting
Patriots, the circus-like environment surrounding this game will be
similar to that of the Panthers home opner here on September 12th
against the Green Bay Packers. It's also an opportunity for the
Panthers to prepare for that game against 'the best team in football'
in that simulated environment. Look for Carolina to go to the air
early and often and test those new obstruction rules against a New
England secondary who was the major benefactor of the absence of
those rules during last season's playoffs.
                    [break]
                    Take Carolina

Matchup: Virginia Tech Hokies vs USC Trojans
                    Grade: Premium Play
Selection: Play on the Virginia Tech Hokies

                    Reason:
Interesting to watch this line hit +19 on the Hokies at Caesars Palace
and some bookmakers are hinting that it may settle as high as +21 by
game time. Is there that much backlash still from a Trojans team who
fell short in it's bid to reach the BCS Championship Game or is just a
bye product of the thousands and thousands of Southern California
tourists who routinely head down I-15 to play in the City of Sin and
bet heavily on their favorite So-Cal sports teams. Hungry for
football and eager to support their Trojans, perceived as victoms of
a flawed BCS system. I lean to the latter. Look, USC may or may
not be the best team in the country, we'll reserve judgement for a
time down the road when we've seen them take a few snaps. What we do
know is that pre-season poll leaders rarely live up to the heavy
expectations placed upon them. Is the pressure to much for these
young kids or is the judgement of the 'experts' just that bad. I
think it's a combination of both of those things. Add into the mix
an unproven Trojans offensive line and the absence of Mike Williams
and the line looks very suspicious to me. Factor in that the game
will be played on Fedex Field in Landover Maryland, which will give
the Hokies a strong geographical edge and the intangibles begin to
add up for Frank Beamers team. Speaking of intangibles, Tech has
always been considered to be the best special teams unit in the
nation and that looks to continue. Senior punter Vinnie Burns is
back and averaging just shy of 49 net yards per punt through the
Hokie scrimmages this summer. Jared Develli is kicking them through
the end zone and Brandon Pace has been accurate with his FG's outside
30 yards. Eddie Royal, the teams leading reciever, also looked great
at the final scrimmage, running back a pair of punts for over 50
yards. But what I am most excited about this season for Tech is the
lack of QB controversy. With the younger Vick out for the season,
senior QB Bryan Randall, is finally the man and he looked every bit
the roll in the teams final scrimmage. Take the points here and
expect a very competitive game. Take Virginia Tech

                    Grade: Premium Play
Selection: Play on the Edmonton Eskimos
Title: Week 11 CFL Game of the Week

                    Reason:
This game is a tale of two teams heading in opposite directions.
Ottawa losing five of its last six while the Esks have won 4 of their
last six. For Ottawa they are trying to survive while they recover
from the injury bug while Edmonton must turn it on with a winning
streak or they will have no chance at catching BC for first place in
the West. With no experienced and healthy Qb I don't see how Ottawa
has a chance here today. You will see the Edmonton Defense continue
to improve and likely present a dominating display Sunday in
Edmonton. At the same time, Jason Maas will get to go up against the
worst pass defense in the league - a Qb who throws for almost 70%
against a bad cover team should give the Manager of Commonwealth
Stadium a great opportunity to see if his score clock works.
Edmonton is 3-1 at home and traditionally almost unbeaten on the
grass turf of commonwealth and the Gades are an acommodating 1-3 on
the road. Following the Renegades 44-15 win over Edmonto
n the Eskimos were bitter - the quote was " you don?t win the Grey
Cup in July, and we'll remember this in August". August is here and
trust me when I say the Eskimos have been waiting - they are not
looking for a win - rather revenge.

Take Edmonton as our Week 11 CFL Game of the Week
