The Cowboys and Raiders had vastly different offensive outputs in Week 1 of the preseason. The Oakland offense exploded for 33 points while Dallas was shutdown completely by the Texans defense. After the loss Parcells said: "I'm very disappointed. We played everyone and I got to look at a lot of players, and I've decided to spend more time with the guys that will be playing." In Week 2, I expect the competitive Parcells to do just that, making sure his offense puts some points on the board. Note that the Cowboys also got shutout in Week 1 of the 2003 Preseason, 13-0 to Arizona, and followed that up with 34 point effort the following week. Oakland had a balanced attack vs. the 49'ers, managing points in every quarter. With Gannon and Collins competing against each other, backed by a solid 3rd-stringer in Tuiasosopo, look for the Raiders offense to be successful once again this week. These clubs faced each other in the preseason last year and combined for 65 points. Expect another high-scoring affair on Saturday. Play on the OVER
OVER broncos/seahawks
Looking back at the Broncos' past three preseasons (2001-2003) shows that the Under has held a strong 10-2 advantage. The exception has been when the Broncos play their 3rd preseason game as both of those two games that did manage to finish Over the number occured in Denver's third game. In those three years the Broncos' 3rd preseason game averaged 46 points, with combined scores of 55, 32, and 51. Looking back even further shows the same thing happened the previous three years (1998-2000) with the Broncos combining for 59, 39 and 65 points in their third preseason game. After back to back poor offensive performances, playing their third preseason game, I expect a much better showing from Shanahan's offense this evening. Seahawks should also put up the points. Seattle managed 21 points in their opening game and last year averaged 31 points (themselves) in their two home preseason games. Expect tonight's combined final score to finish above the number. MINNESOTA (Mulholland) -105 over CLEVELAND (Durbin)
The Indians have taken a step back after a strong run, allowing
the first place Twins to extend their lead in the AL Central to 5
full games. Now they're up against veteran Terry Mulholland,
who has performed well in 7 starts this year (3.86 ERA), bad news
for a team that checks in with a 20-26 (-$780) record vs. lefthanders.
Minnesota has made a bundle vs. righties (+$1500) and they are
looking very sharp, coming off a near sweep against the Yankees
and a win against the Tribe's very formidable Jake Westbrook. We'll jump on the pick' em price with the home team here.

2* CHICAGO (-3') VS. SAN FRANCISCO ACTION 8:30 EST
The Bears will be a very tough team to gauge in the regular season, but I foresee them being pre-season monsters in their final three pre-season contests. This team has question marks on both sides of the ball, and the main reason why is because most of the spots in question are being battled for by players with talent. That bodes well for the Bears for whichever string is in at the time. The same cannot be said for the 49'ers as they're just a very bad football team that got rid of a boatload of talent in the off-season. Penalties against Oakland was the only reason they didn't lose last weeks game by more than 2 TD's. I really liked what I saw from Chicago in the RCA Dome last week. Granted they only put up 13 points to win in OT, but they fought tooth and nail with a much faster Rams squad and got HC Smith his first victory as an NFL coach. QB Grossman will go into the second quarter with the first team offense, and then get relieved by QB Quinn who threw the only TD pass for the Bears in last weeks game. The Niners counter with a bunch of names you'd expect to still be playing college ball in Dorsey, Doman, and Pickett. Not the most experienced of field generals, and I predict the free flowing Bears defense to get at least two picks in this one. This is the Bears coaching staffs debut in the new Soldier Filed, and they'll want to let the city of Chicago know that footballs back on the map in the Windy City.

Oakland -2 vs Dallas (2 Unit)....Dallas comes in after a TERRIBLE showing at Houston in week 1 and things don't get any easier. Testaverde, Henson, and Romo are subpar QB's and playing the starters for most of the 1st half (which Parsley plans on doing) won't make a difference. The Raider's starters will also see some extended time and their QB rotation of Gannon, Collins, and Tuiasosopo (even Tee Martin) are one of the best assets in the preseason. Add the QB advantage to a strong group of RB's and a defense looking to re-establish themselves and it has the makings of a Raiders win (by 3+ points, of course)
TEASER: Cleveland +3 & Cleveland/Detroit UNDER 42 (1 UNIT)....Lions struggle on the road no matter what season and the Browns just looked plain ugly in their first game. Look for Garcia to get more action and their RB duo of Suggs and Green to have SOLID Performances.
New England -3 @ Cincy (1 UNIT)....Patriots love to win, even in the preseason. Dillon is excited to play his old squad even if the game "doesn't count" and having Palmer in against the 1st team Pats D is not going to be a pretty sight. Rohan and Kingsbury can hold their own against a 2nd team Bengal defense and look for the Brady to lead a few solid drives in the 1st quarter.
TRENDS: NE is 9-1 ATS in weeks 2 over the last 10 years and 7-0 ATS when favored off a win.
FYI......Including tonight's games, the favorite in AFC vs. NFC games this preseason are 11-0 SU/ATS!!!!!!!!!!
ADDING:
Buffalo +1 vs Tenn (1 UNIT)....I love the games where the lines flip and the home squad is now the doggie. McGhee opened his mouth and inserted a dumb ass comment, so the fans will def be involved in this game. Travis Brown will also see action with the 1st team offense to showcase what he can do and the Titans will be missing players on D. Part hunch, part homer pick, part research....take it for what it's worth
