For Tuesday take Milwaukee to beat the New York Mets.

The poor Mets had brief dilusions of being a contender and even made trades to facilitate a pennant run. They are kidding themselves.

The B-team in New York has lost 8 of its last 10 including getting swept by the Braves. The only thing going for the Mets in this game is Al Leiter on the hill. Leiter is 7-3 with a 2.18 ERA but run support is tragicly low.

Milwaukee has won 8 of the last 11 meetings with the Mets and they have the hot hand of Chris Capuano on the mound. Capuano is 5-5 with a 3.66 ERA this season. He's picked it up in the last three starts with the Brewers going 3-0 in thos starts and Capuano sporting a respectable 3.57 ERA. Thos games were not creampuff victories either beating the Astros and Cubs on the road then beating the Cubs again at home.

The Mets are set for a downward spiral that will end in another fourth-place finish in their division.

The Brew Crew has overachieved all season and there is no reason to think they will stop now.

Take Milwaukee to raise a victory toast after this game.
