Vegas Experts Tip of the Day
Oakland Athletics at Boston Red Sox, Tuesday, July 6, 2004 7:05 P.M. EST EST
Fenway Park is traditionally a tough place for a visiting team to come in and win a series opener. The Red Sox are 26-15 in Home Series Openers the past 2 seasons including 6-2 with Tim Wakefield on the mound. In addition, Boston was beaten in Atlanta Sunday 10-4 and is 25-8 the past 3 seasons after allowing 10 or more runs.

New York Mets at Philadelphia Phillies
Tuesday, July 6, 2004 7:05 p.m. EST
Mets took an early lead last night but couldn't hold it then were unable to rally late vs. some tough bullpen work by the Phils. Look for a better all-around effort tonight by the New Yorkers.
Good Luck-Robert Ross

8.05pm ET
Anaheim (42 - 39) at Chicago White Sox (42 - 36)
John Lackey (R) vs. Freddy Garcia (R)
We'll go with the Chicago White Sox to get back on track tonight when they open a three game set against the slumping Anaheim Angels.
The White Sox are 8-4 (+4.1 Units) at home against the Angels over the last three seasons and have a clear edge in starting pitching tonight.
Freddy Garcia owns the Angels with a 10-2 lifetime record and 2.48 ERA. The ace hurler was acquired by the White Sox last week and in his first home start will be very focused on halting Chicago's recent skid. Overall this season he is 5-7 but it must be noted that in his 15 starts with the Mariners they averaged a league-worst 2.19 runs. His 3.35 ERA and 1.19 WHIP compare very well with his opposing starter tonight.
The White Sox return home having been swept by the cross-town Cubs in a three game series in which they scored a total of just five runs. Chicago are 21-12 this season following a loss and we expect a much better offensive performance from them tonight. In their last 12 games at US Cellular Field they are averaging 7.6 runs per game.
The Angels have dropped six of their last seven overall and face a tough task to get back on track tonight considering the pitching mismatch. They send John Lackey to the mound and on the road this season he has a 7.25 ERA and 1.61 WHIP so it's no surprise that Anaheim are just 2-6 in his road starts. In two career starts against the White Sox he is 0-2 with a 11.42 ERA and 2.54 WHIP.
The White Sox are 36-22 (+12 units) against right-handed starters while the Angels are just 27-27 (-5 units).
Recommended play: Chicago White Sox -145

This was mailed yesterday, the 5th, w/ the title "plays for 7/6", and the note you see below; this guy often has server probs & gets dates mixed up or mis-typed so you'll have to decipher for yourself if the scheduling here is accurate (I don't bet bases).
From Net Prophet:

NorthCoast Comp. play today(Triple Crown) is over the total in the Balt./TB game.
Be forewarned if you call the comp. line today(800-4758168) you will be "treated" by Phil Steele to an ad for his 2004 Football College Scorebook, 414 pages of information(most of it useless) from the last 5-6 years on how every college team has done ATS under every conceivable situation (weather, etc.)
Can you see yourself sitting down in the middle of December in an important game and deciding to read this useless drivel on what happened when these two teams played say 5 years ago with different players, different scenarios, etc to determine your pick?
Well, if you are, you can receive this "encyclopedia" for a mere $24.95;I personally would rather buy a nice steak with the money.:DLast edited by savage1; 07-06-2004, 01:20 PM.
