LOS ANGELES (Ishii) -110 over TORONTO (Towers)
You can't do much worse than the Blue Jays have against
lefthanders this year. They've posted a dismal 7-14 mark in
21 games (-$975), averaing a mere 3.5 runs per game in
those contests, and they're up against a good one tonight
(Ishii +$515, 3.64 ERA). Despite last night's shutout the
Dodgers have gotten back on track (6-4, +$125 with a 5.1
runs per game last 10 days) and they've been rock solid
vs. righthanders (24-16, +$695). We like the visitors' chances
with the lefthander vs. the ineffective Josh Towers.
LA LAKERS over DETROIT* by 8
Starting at 9 pm on their home floor is a disadvantage
for the Pistons. They never start that late. Game day
is way too long for them and they probably won't be
as sharp as they normally would be.
They had 'em the other night and blew it. It's not like
the regular season, when they can shake it off. Too many
little things went wrong in a hurry and there isn't enough
time for them to let it go. LA LAKERS, 92-84.
